hello my name is dave and i just signed up here in this forum. i am seeking for some help regarding an exhaust system. first off i have an us import 1991 300zx z32 non turbo 2 seater coupe. i was also told it is called a swb... i live here in germany and they are just giving me trouble here with their tüv- it' a vehicle inspection place. we can't change anything on our cars here with out proper paperwork that is approved and street legal. i would really like to put on sporty mufflers. but i would need paper work upon these, that stat that they are street legal. otherwise it would be illegal and i would be fined and collect points if i would be caught... the othe…

Been wanting one for years, but all i ever see is tired, tatty ones, seen some on the for sale section on here and :shock: really nice examples. I'm after a nice clean Targa Manual Twin Turbo version, pref leather interior, exhaust and filter........nothing else, thats all I want. Now I have been looking, looking and looking more, and the main worry is if something goes wrong, who do I take it to? Is there any specialists down south near basingstoke where I can go for parts be it trim, bodywork and engine stuff?? I know for example Rotechniks in basingstoke look after RX7s at a sensible price is there a similar person/garage/tuning house that can fix it…

How much would it cost both low end, mid range and upper end to have a full respray in Gloss Black?

I'm just wondering why you don't see any/many imported zed's coming into the country with wide arch conversions already done?? Are they illegal in Japan, or something :p .. .. :confused:

just thought Id type up some thoughts as Im sat here doing nothing. Last night, the water pipe from the lower rad to the block burst. About a mile from home (luckily), limped home. It must've looked funny as steam was coming out the vent in my bonnet and reminded me of a steam train, as I peered through the steam mist settling on the screen. Anyway, got home and replaced pipe (I had a spare one from my red 300 I stripped). Must quieten down my exhaust too, on the way to work this morning I successfully set off no less than 4 car alarms I trundled pass them. I loved the noise to start with but it becomes very monotonous on distances and you cant have a conv…

Here is one for you, noisey box Simple you say its shit itself But it is only in 2nd and 4th and when I'm stationary with my foot on the clutch in those two gears (but quieter) Now could a noisey release bearing transmit through to the gearbox while driving, I haven't come across it before but the box feels fine.

just wondering how far i can push the limits with my standard engine, im sure i read somewhere around 400bhp is as far as you can go without sacrificing reliability, i was wanting to upgrade to 555's but i already have upgraded tubs and intercoolers, chip, exhaust and induction kit so i musn't be far off that mark, i want more power but dont want an expensive repair bill!! :(

Used a boost leak detector to check for boost leaks and i can hear air escaping from the back of the engine (see pic). Has anyone got a picture of the back of the engine that shows which boost pipes it could be? Thanks Paul

No Im not joking. I need to know the weight of the block, pistons, crank etc. I am going to get my engine Cryogenicaly Treated and its done on weight. But i need to know the weight of the major components.

I know you will all prob say the jim wolf one but they are so expensive on my last z i bought one of ebay if i remeber it was 90 pound and it didnt say jwt on it however the car ran awsum after the fittment of the chip and boost valves. I see there about 350 pound from dealers do any of you got a cheaper chip that is tried and tested and gives similar results? and how much and were from? cheers big ears

Quick question With the boost problems I've had lately I have done a lot of reading through threads and from what I understand standard boost is 9.5 and safety is at 7. My car since I got it seems to reach full boost at justover 8. I think the guages are fine cause when it dropped into safety it was running at 7..... When it gets to eight tho it stays fairly constant which leads me to believe that it's not a boost leak. So my question is could it be anything else and if not it must mean it can be adjusted so is there anywhere around Hamphire that I can get it adusted back up??
