I finally did the deed today and removed my AIV system from my zed. Coming from someone who has never done anything mechanical i think i did a pretty good job on the removal and i thought id write up a tech guide while i was at it so everyone could see what i did and or use this for hgelp doing their own removal someday. This is for the Chevy engine I'm running at the mo' , but it's on a carb. Need to change to injection before I fit the supercharger. I had to make this plenum as I don't think the factory ones would fit. This one follows the underside of the standard z bonnet exactly. Just a few shots of various ops on the milling machine first, to hopefully show what a pain it all was. Not doing another before anyone asks! hi all, ill be changing my oil in the gearbox soon when i replace the clutch.wots the best oil to buy for my tt import??.plus where can i get an after market slave cylinder to save me having the troubles of bleeding the standard clutch cylinder did read a thread on here not long ago on a group buy but its vanished :cry:

Hi can anyone help me? On the drivers side window the guide pin broke off, so i have the pin sticking out of the guide rail and the stud still left in the glass. Can anyone tell me how to take the pin out/how to replace the pin to the window?? Thanks sarah

Just got the car outside with all the spares and accessories I've collected of the last 2 years.......just waiting for it to be taken away. Then I'll pack my stuff and head off for China for a few years, will see if I can get on here from there. Mind you Japan is'nt that far away.....I might be tempted to look in and see what I can pickup from an auction :D

Does any1 have any idea what the thread size is for the temp sensor that supplies the coolant temp gauge? (or the ecu coolant temp sensor as im told they are the same size) the sensors are the 2 at the front middle of the engine tapped into the water pipe... munchos thankyos amigos.

i have had a prob with smoking with my z its intermitant and only on stand stills, i have noticed that if car stands on slopes then it smokes more but if stood on flat surface then doesnt smoke as much or completly doesnt!! the smoke is oily smell and is white!! im supposed to hook up with andy but have had a few probs so aint been able to see him yet, has anyone had this prob?

As above really, have just rebuilt mine but the 4 squared o rings on the back of the oil pump are damaged. unfortunately its not possible to buy just the 4 orings and being squared edges i cant make some. anyone have an old auto box laying about that they are happy to take them out for me?

i'd like to lower the car a bit but wondering how it will sit on the 18's. As it is if im driving hard and hit a swell in the road the tyres rub against the arches. Would this get worse with lowered springs? Also could someone recommend wher to buy some that suit the z, thanks

I scratched two wheels :cry: :cry: :cry: I fancy the pants of this Italian girl i work with so offered to help her move flat in fulham this evening, you know how it is. Got to a mini round about with STUPID curbs, she couldn't read the map so at 1mph i glance at it and SCRAPE!! arghhhhhhh :hurl: She loves the car and appretiates the help alot, best be bloody worth it. Was bound to happen in London. Was being so carefull that i kind of made it happen.
