General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Thinking of getting a TT 300zx... How much do these things cost to maintain say a year? What would need to be done every certain no. of miles etc? Im thinking like regular oil changes etc? Thanks.

As title, did a search but couldnt find a thing! Thinking about buying an auto Zed, any idea on the costs of changing to manual?! Oh and no "just buy a manual" remarks please! lol, its a specific car im looking at! :wack: Cheers! :duffer:

Hey All, I have been getting the skippy/wobbley rear end when going over bumps/drains etc recently, and guessed my rear bushes of some sort were on the way out. So I got it looked at and its the subframe bushes that have split. I have read previous posts about this so know that replacing them is a big job. So I was wondering if the Whiteline subframe alignment and locking kit would solve this problem, or should I ruin my credit card and get the subframe dropped and the bushes replaced? Does anyone know roughly how many hours it will take, so that I can make an estimate on labour charges? Cheers everyone!

just got 1 of these anyone fitted 1 do they need to be blended into the rear bumper or do they bolt on ( i wasnt going to kit my zed up but i thought what the hell ) cheers matty

I have been looking at other peoples Data scan results, (my car is running rough) the only thing I can see that is different on my log is the AAC reading. My reading is very low at 12 the others I have looked at are much higher, will this cause my car to run rough?

Hi All! Got a Zed today, great price dirt cheap! I knew of the problem before I bought it but want advice. Basically wont go into 3rd gear, 1st and 2nd fine, but will not change into third. I CAN use drive but when it tries to go to third the revs go up but the car doesnt speed up. Thoughts? Thanks!

Hey people, A very very angry man here. :mad: :mad: Last night while I was away doing a night shift, some mother f***in idiots broke into my 300 and stole my DVD player and screen at home. They smashed all my back windows. What I believe happened is, they smashed the rear quarter windows first thinking they'll put their hands through and unlock the car but as the mechanisms are too far forward on our cars, they couldn't get to it, so they smashed the rear window and got in through there. I say this because as there is a foot print on the car boot area and prints on my rear seats. Now I've got a tailgate lying around from which, I can use the window and t…

Been runnning my tt auto for a couple of months and only now have i really been able to open it up, bought it as i had a broken ankle and being an auto v easy to drive!, driving with a broke limb is an art form and i was only able to plod around when very nessessary, but now my casts off and strength is improving i have been able to do some "enthusiastic driving" and im not convinced by the performance? i ran a diag got code 55 all ok, replaced plugs, which looked new any way, i cant fault it to drive, no misfires or obvious faults, the boost gauge goes up high etc, but no huge feeling of boost, more like a smooth pick up which does increase as the revs go higher but none…

Right, here comes the really annoying question all you lucky drivers are waiting for. Which Z shall i buy ?! :headvswal I used to drive a mk2 mr2 turbo, spent a shead load on her, and loved it. Had to sell my baby when i went traveling, and now im looking to buy a 300! Now, I know there are so many variations of the mr2, and im sure the same can be said for these motors aswell, Thing is, i have not one clue of the different trims/engines available. If one of you guys could lend a hand that would be cool, :bow: or point me in the right direction, as im sure this gets asked all the time. Any way, i d have my beloved ZXR 750 which i could deal away for the right parts if any of you are interested. Parts i need are some performance brakes. Discs Pads Turbos. I am using my Conzult on a mates zed but i lost my full version of the software and am using the freeware stripped down version. Where can i get my mits on the full version. I can provide my Conzult SN.

Ok chaps. My zed had some re-spray work done by the previous owner and i dont think much of the job done. Yesterday, my car 'aquired' additional splash's of white paint all over body work, and trimming, from a jet wash brush @ Morrison's Petrol station in Reading.Liability aint mine, so need a recommendation on where to get a full body re-spray done proper. I live in Reading, but not to fussed on where it gets done as long as it is done professionally and looks sweet as when i get it back. I am also looking to get the rear aches cut out and replaced at the same time and the tailgate replaced as these have gone rusty in places and need changing cutting out.

Just wondering if its normal to hear the fuel pump engage just after starting the car? I'm sure thats what the noise is but it sounds quite loud and i've never noticed it before.

So, should i worry? My intended zx starts off at 60 psi+ then tails off after a few miles. Any ideas?, or am i worried about nowt? Is been Run on fully synthetic + changed every 3k Its a 110k uk tt manual.

OK, Im seriously thinking i should probably sell these. I don't really know what they are worth though. i took a caliper off today and cracked the brake pipe while the caliper was hanging free. What a ridiculous idea to put inflexible pipes joining the calipers which are obviously going to get flexed when the calipers are removed and then making the pipes thin iron in a ideal breading ground for rust!! Anyway can i go to a nissan dealership to get a replacement pipe? hopefully that includes the nut going into the caliper on one side and the nut going the brake lines on the other. Is it likely to be in stock at a relatively large dealer and if i have to order it in is mjp likely to have one in stock? what is the likely price for a thin bit of bent iron pipe?

Last tuesday on Scotswood Road heading towards the college about 4.40pm.

was sat at the lights with foot on brake pedel..as you do then suddenly the pedel buzzed and bounced and then the abs light came on . tried everything to turn it off but it didnt went a mile up the road parked up for ten mins started her up no light ..hasnt come on since any ideas cheers
