Transfered my seat belts on the doors to my B Pillars to continue my 2000spec conversion project. I had this done by a compliancer so i know it was done right as these parts are part of the safety system so i didnt want to take any risks doing it myself. Basically the comliancer welded a nut onto the back of a steel plate which he then pot riveted to the inside of the chassis wall at the holes for the seat belt mounts. I acquired a set of B Pillar Seat belts from a wrecked ausSpec zed which fitted prefectly. Im very happy with the result and the belts feel alot tighter then my previous door mounted belts did. Anyways here are some pix

hi all. I know this is going to hurt a lot of people on this forum,This is what was done to three new turbo's today in work.Believe me i didn't enjoy having to do this especially as my car is a na.they are to be presented to employees of garretts, as the skelmersdale site is nearing closure.we have been producing small batches of thrust bearings, balancing fixtures, test rigs ect for the last fifteen years, but like a lot of industry they are moving to eastern europe.Anyway i hope this does not upset to many people but there is no way they are going to work now!.[ hope the attachment works as it is the first time iv'e tried adding an attachment!.]

Hi everyone, i last left a post when i was looking for a 300zx tt. I am now the proud owner of a MINT condition stock 300zx with 59K miles. I love everything about this car and i don't think i will have another car that is not a 300zx again. I have wanted this car since i was five and now i am 21 and have my 300zx twin turbo dream a reality. I am interested in becoming a member too. Saw someone in stock last weekend in his Z and he flashed me kindly. I got the automatic as i was getting stressed with looking for a good condition manual. My wife (who hates cars) actually loves it but says the only reason is because its a semi convertible and she can get out of junct…

If the timing belt snapped ( ) what needs adjusting before the new belt comes on? My mechanic said he may need some adjusment info or such before fitting the timing belt to adjust the pulleys maybe? IDK, any info welcomed.

Right then, when it rains it poors, just knackered my auto box, so deliberating whether to have it fixed or cut my looses and get the car scrapped. Anyway heres the thing, dont really mind having to pay out for another box to be put it in, but now i fear that somehow, maybe i have a turbo problem, when i start the car as i have been doing every other day, smoking a little on idle, but when i put the foot down and rev it a little, plenty of white smoke out the back. Is there any way i can tell for sure if i have a turbo problem, coz theres no point having the box redone or a man conv, if the tubs are knackered an all. Have no error codes on the ecu its 55. Oh the car has n…

Hi all. Been off the forum for a while, Z has been up on blocks for the last year awaiting some attention. I've freed up a bit of cash to 'waste' and the first job is to replace the standard turbos which were smoking on occasion, part of the reason I took it off the road. Engine is coming out within the next couple of weeks. It's a J-spec auto converted to manual, AVC-r, blitz BOVs (oh dear...), powerflow exhaust (even worse), Blitz SUS, can't remember who's chip (!), KYB's etc. I'm looking for a direct bolt on pair of tubs capable of 500BHP or thereabouts, I'm not doing injectors at the mo' as funds won't allow, just looking to run up to 1 bar reasonably relia…

sqeals like a pig and t.b.h. looks a bit knackered anyway,my car is going in for a full sevice inc all engine belts on tuesday but being an impatient git i want to drive her this week and over the weekend rather than use my s-max(coz i am the original kid with a new toy)so methinks if i just cut the old belt off and use her minus air con for a few days it`ll be o.k. but i thought i`d better ask the more learned bretheren on here am i thinking clearly or am i a total plum? answers on a postcard to.................. is chris a plank or not? c/o 300zx site cheers in advance chris e boy.

Hey guys and girls Lots of smoke at the W/E so took it into the garage and low compression on number 5, full of oil. Its coming out tomorrow to get the full picture. Gutted once again! Hey Ho at least it will be fixed when I get it back I guess. Any tips for what to get done while its out? I was going to get the engine bay steam cleaned and get the heater matrix replaced. Its got wiseco pistons and 555's is it worth investing in after market rods or are the standard ones up to the job? Cheers

Now i have seen a few posts on here saying: To get the engine out took the good part of a morning, or spent the day taking the engine out. :( Ive just spent the second day on it and i still need to seperate gearbox and then disconnect the wireing loom and then lift the engine out. Hard graft. Respect to you 300zx gods :duffer:

Anyone know if it's possible to compression test an engine not in the car??? If it is possible how is it done, I have a tempoary engine to put in the car and want to make sure it's ok before I spend a few days doing it. I know I could take the heads off to check pistons/valves etc but as it's only tempoary I would rather not!

I bypassed my det sensor with a resistor about 6 months ago and got rid of the code 34. I have had a new engine fitted since then and have been told that the sensor was working fine on it before it was removed from the other car. I was at Zfest the other week and was told that with the resistor fitted it will get rid of the error but the ecu will still know the difference as the sensor normally gives different resistances, not the constant 1k ohms. He also said that it will still run safty boost and the timing will be retarded. I have a boost controller which overrides the safty boost but I'm worried about the timing being retarded due to this. i asked him to ch…
