General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Just got the car back manual conversion completed. But we've spent the last hour trying to get the indicators to work with no luck. Mechanic reckons he might have broken a connection when he was at the pedals. We've searched all around the area beneath the steering wheel but can't find anything out of place.We've also checked fuses. Any suggestions?

Hi all Have just done a matrix bpass. See this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=101140 All seems to work fine but the stock temp gauge is stil acting strangley. At first it seems like it is not working, then it will go up to the usual middle position, and occasionaly it will go almost to the top. The electric fan keeps kicking in as well at times. Now does this mean that there is an air lock in the extra piping I have put in or is a usual thing with the bypass? Darrell

Hey all Engine is out and the garage called with the damage. Center piston passenger side was not fitted properly and come away and damaged the bore and the crank. Also the tubs might be fooked they are double checking in case the oil that spilled out of them has come from somewhere else ...Longshot. New engine needed or a rebuild from scratch with a reground crank and relined bore. etc etc etc... :hurl:

I'm looking to either buy a new turbo to replace my fooooked one or send both away for refurb. Can somebody advise where I could buy one already refurbished or new, and where is the best place to have my two serviced if I choose this option. Last but not least, what is the name/code for the standard turbo's (automatic)? Ta. :smash:

Hi Everyone :mad: :mad: :mad: :( I've been trying to get a good insurance premium.... And the more I look the more I'm thinking thats a bundle load for insurance. Now my question is simple how can I get my insurance down?? *Who is the best to insure with? Please note Im 21. *What should I look out for and what should I not say. Exp Im a doorman and that did push up my insurance a lot. *What on the car can bring the quote down? *Should I take out specialish insurance such a classic car insurance? Hi all, has any1 got any pics of a chipped ecu! (inside) as ive bought a chipped ecu off a member here but still not 100% sure its been chipped or not.it has a sticker on the outside saying cecil sport and also a sticker saying genuine remanufactured nissan ecu. ive opened up both standard and chipped ecu's but theres not much difference except on the 'chipped' ecu the circuit board thats mounted off the main circuit board is a little bigger than my standard 1. if that makes sence at all lol regards dan

Just had my autobox fixed and the car is great, only one problems! RPM!! Every now and again when braking and stopping hard the engine loses revs and stalls, this does not happen all the time, only occasionally! Also, the revs seem to fluctuate up and down by maybe 200-300RPM. Any thoughts.

His car has been sold and best of luck to it's new owner (he must be pinching himself lol).But...I have to give Gio the hightest of praise as an enthusiast. On the ebay auction gio didn't mention the clarkson thing till the very end, didn't have a big banner "my z was on top gear" etc.. which to be honest a lot of us including myself would have done so to get as much money as possible for the sale. Anybody know a good match for SFS (or Samco - they're fairly similar) blue silicone?? Had a quick look in Halfords today, but they were shutting & didn't have time to go through the books... all the off-the-shelf ones i've thought were close aren't 'purple' enough! ive had a z center ferrari rear panel on my car for years now and all of a sudden after a dose of night nurse i woke up and thought i actually dont like them so ive decide to go back to original if not 99 spec on the rear anyhoo what do you all think to the style of the ass end 99 or aftermarket???

how often do engine sensors such as the following list pack in or become problematic. knock sensor power transistor unit throttle positions sensor crank angle sensor and MAF's it seems they go for silly money on ebay for what are effectively 17 year old cars. with no gurantee's on any of these such parts I wonder how robust they are or are people just greedy? it's a bit of a moan but having restored a number of old cars the prices are a bit out of hand I feel for this model. (z32 TT)

my zed has been stood now for about a year moving house knackerd exhaust mot ran out and never got round to fixing her anyway started her up and there is a loud knock from the top end(at least i think its top end drivers side bank but if ya get underneath it does sound a bit like bottom end)the knock can clearly be heard through the exhaust aswell (just on one side)anyway looks like im gonna have to pull engine and strip her down bah just started pricing parts up (can ya belive how much nissan want for a head set wont be getting it from them) but my question is what do you guys think would be causing the top end knock dont think it could be oil starvation cos i left her t…
