Hi all, Could someone please point me in the right direction for timing the engine on a TT. Replacement engine now fitted, mechanic now needs info on timing, any links appreciated. Thanks. :bow:

Hi there..this is odd! Reset ECU and took the z for a drive ..All very good ;then, on a straight;very strange ...gave it some boost and suddenly the car is steering from the back and front just for a second I'm creeping sideways at 70mph!!...slowed down and stopped ,checked all wheels and tyres..headed off again and then again at 65mph did the same thing only this time on a corner!!Life of its own ...Any one with any ideas ..this car has never done this before ????? i've finally done it my blitz aerotop supra is going wednesday and im buying a 300zx, i've seen a red convertible for 5000 on a 97 plate which looks real nice. anything i should be looking for on these? and thanks to the stunning blond driving the yellow zed in this video it convinced me to buy one

I'm trying to get in contact with Andy Duff - he's working on my engine for me. Can't get him via his mobile and I've read he's not on here at the moment due to no internet access. Anybody got any other contact details or can get a message to him?

Well I think my gearbox has died (properly this time) I have done lots of searches and people talk about the car making more noise when changing up from 3rd but not going any fast. Mine simply wont change above 2nd (as if I have left it in 2). So I can do 60 MPH but it sits at just over 4000 revs. Is it time to book it in for a gearbox?

I've just bought a new Zed! It's a 1989 and in red, other than that I don't know any other details (2+2 or 2+0? Turbo or NA? etc) I liked it, so I bought it :D :D Well it goes with the collection.

Just a quick double check, I am right in thinking that the two pieces of hose go from the turbos up to the back of the engine and connect there, dont need the vac signle fro the egr as it being removed, which take off on the balance tube is the one i need to cap???

Thinking of changing my rear J spec rear bumper to a UK one but my rear skirt obviously wont fit and i don't seem to able to find a rear skirt for UK one :confused: Any ideas, are they available? and if so where from? Cheerz James

HI guys can you help? Just bought the black TT 93' UK manual from 'niceguyindahous' 2 weeks ago and took it out properly first time yesterday and its running real slow psi never gets above 0, its running reallly rich (exhaust stinks) and is just not the fast car i expected ;( any advice or know of any good garages in york/leeds/bradford area? Really gutted as i bought this for lge sum - unfortunately did not pick this up on the test drive I'm new to this car so any advice is welcome - seller claims it running at 400bhp yet its no faster than my Vectra GSI!!! :( :confused:

I haven’t seen one as bad that you can buy. A few individual parts that are horrid, but not a complete kit that transforms a good looking car into a horror story. I might be wrong, so If you know of something worse, please post it up so we can all puke, OUR SURVEY SAYS YES ok sorted it.

sunday afternoon heading down dual carraigeway towards Beighton/Woodhouse, had a veilside logo in rear quarter glass. You wouldnt have spotted me though I was in my Yaris...I go to my daughters most sundays over in Hackenthorpe and always take the Zed except this one time..doh

I have decided i want to upgrade my brakes. i have a set of cast iron TT calipers and disks the calipers need a refurb as some of the pistions are siezed!! i currently have the na aluminium calipers on my z . would i notice any difference with fitting the TT ones if i overhauled the calipers?

Resprayed my scuttle panel, or at least that is what I was told it was called at the front of the car (the thing that goes from right to left and the windscreen wipers attach through it) but it snapped! Has anyone got one spare that I could buy as it looks fookin shocking!

Does anyone have a series 2 ptu or a decent series 1 in good order, i need to establish if mine is fooked, only need to plug in to know to order a new one. Is there anyway of bypassing the ptu, to establish if that is the problem. Im in west sussex, if u fancy a drive out, i will only need to borrow for a few mins. Ta Stu 07746 476085

Does anyone have, or have had and rectified a problem like mine, i cannot get the demister to work.........the two buttons on top of the heater control pod do the same thing, when either one is pressed it engages the clutch on the aircon pump is this right? When DEF is pressed the vents do not change the direction of the air to the screen, but does engage as i said the clutch on the Aircon pump, so when the car is warm there is lovely warm air being blasted out at demist speed but not at the screen, but then it eventally gets artic.........on AUTO the aircon works as it should, basically my problem is that the "gates", "paddles" or whatever you call them within the du…

Need to make a decision on this quite soon. Looking at getting Gaz adjustable shocks and springs. -30mm I think. Just wondering who's got this setup or anyone that's experienced it. Had wanted to go for either Eibach or H&R which are progressive rate wound giving a more supple ride over coarse ground. Wondering what the Gaz setup is like and how harsh it is over stock. Want a tighter ride of course, but don't want the car crashing and banging all over the place.

Don't think it was Yewcheck. I was going west bound and saw a yellow Z on the opposite carriageway. I guess it must have been about 8.45am this morning.
