just a update on my poor battered and bruised zed :( transpires that to day (after 3 weeks of chasing him) that he doesnt have insurance, surprise surprise  bodyshop quotes have come to £1300 and thats without the overheating problem :( hope fully that is just a nipped pipe or fan issue *fingers crossed* i have decided to cut my losses and not go down the insurance route myself and have not bothered with the police either. have been in touch with the lad tonight and have drawn up a contract of payment which is well under bodyshop quote 26 x £25 = £600 the reason for my undeniable good will is that with the car off the road till summ…

Team, I am looking for some set-up help here on my travels I have managed to pick up an original set of Mine's Suspension for my twin turbo. Manufactured in japan to a custom mines specification they are really really nice units. What I know so far is that the spring rates are as follows 3.2 - 4.5kg for Front and 3.0 - 4.0kg. for Rear. They are 32-way adjustable for damping and appear to have 3 pre-load settings via a circlip design on the shock body. Does anyone else have these units on their car as i am looking for some starter settings for fast-road driving. Thanks in advance

Evening all, A quick question. Whilst searching the threads I found conflicting information on the uk spec wheel offsets. One stated : Front 35 and Rear 45. The other : Front 45 and rear 35. Can any one tell me without doubt which is correct? Many thanks.

Hello Chaps Just need abit of info on the cooling for the autobox fluid, the car is a jspec. As far as i now there is no specific oil cooler for the fluid, is has a feed going through the rad, please correct me if iam wrong. how is the fluid pumped to the"cooling coils" by what means???? and just out of interest, if say there was some kind of restriction in flow i take it, this could cause the box fluid to overheat and boil, if not what else could cause significantly increased temperatures to the autobox fluid. Cheers Dutchy.

Hey, i noticed today that there was quite a bit of water under my car. i checked under and noticed that there was a pipe which looked like it was a drain and it was dripping water. it was at the back of the engine on the passenger side and came through the bulkhead. i have checked through the forums and it seems to be the air con draining pipe which realease water from the air con. As it is now november i dont use the air con and havent used it in quite a while so i was wondering why this pipe would be draining water and if it is going to be a problem and should i do something about it. i have had the car about 5 months or more and never noticed this before. it is no…

hey, i have a water leak. i have checked where it is coming from and it seems to be the air con drain pipe which comes through the bulk head on the passanger side just above the exhaust manifold. i have never seen it leak/drain before and i also dont use the air con in my car as it is in the middle of october and freezing any way. i do use the heater in the car. i was just wondering why it would be leaking/draining now and will it cause problems??? Cheers Kyle

Hi, I have just purchased a 300ZX TT manual, when I viewed it, it started first time from cold each time, I have just driven home (170 miles) and it won't start now. I stopped twice during the journey and it started both times, but when I got home I parked it and turned it all off whist I moved the old car and now it will not start. The lights on the dash come on and it turns over, but just won't fire, I also noticed a smell of fuel when I got out. I left it for about 20mins and then went back, but still the same problem. Has anyone got any ideas? Alex (Newbie)

Hello, my little reservoir needs filling, but i'm not sure what i filled it with last time... Alas, I can't remember if I used ATF fluid or actual power steering fluid. I seem to recall that I didn't use power steering fluid cause someone told me never to use power steering fluid since it contains corrosive bits which encourage leakage - and leak it has... onto my now squeaky belts which makes me question myself yet again. Is there a simple way of telling from the fluid whether it is ATF or steering fluid? Is it possible to drain the power steering system (hydrological HICAS is still installed) as I'm assuming thelphat bad shit happens when you mix the …
