Still got a missfire on my N/A. Its the cylinder at the far back right hand side, under the balance bar thing and pipes.. With my limited knoledge i darent try and remove these to get to the coilpack etc, I have managed to get the connector off the coilpack/injector and give em a clean, but to no avail. So.. Ive got it booked into a local garage :x: for him to take a look at it. Im hoping it might just be the coilpack or sparkplug. What else could it be? Dead injector? If it was say a Dead injector how much am I looking at for getting it fixed at £30 an hour? Cheers Pete

After all the hassle and trouble i have been through getting my car rebuilt and finally gettting some where i hear this. Keeping in mind the engine has just been fully rebuilt and is brand new. There is a noise coming from the engine. The garage who has fitted the engine and done all the work have been great and made more progress in a month than i saw in 2 years from every where else it has been. But do you remember me having problems with my crank?? the engine shop had took a chunk out of it while machining it and swore it was purely cosmetic??? well i had problems finding a garage who would rebuilding the engine with that crank. So the engine shop w…

My fanbelt is squeeling like a pig in an abatoir! It is not all the time, just completely random. Most of the time it is for s second or so, other times it squeels for about a minute, sometimes it doesnt at all! It is getting quite embarassing now so it needs sorting. What can I do? I am not "savvy" enough to jack the car up and try and tighten it, unless I have a step by step!

My starter motor is a bit hit and miss so decided to change it. Is this an easy fix? There are two insulated wires running down the length of the car, are they connected?

Luckly nothing which prevents me driving but I have a few problems which I could do with sorting! Suggestions welcome :D [1991 JDM TT] a) revs very variable on idle (800-2000rpm when cold moves up and down) sits at 1100 when warm and in drive with brake down, moves around in idle even when up to temp though. b) during the above (maybe connected?) you can hear a zzzt zzzzzt zzzt noise from under rear of the car, sounds like some electric motor moving something around. Did wonder if the HICAS was the problem but no warning light and rear wheels not moving when stationary. c) when driving at a constant 2000 rpm in any gear, you can hea…

Hi, I took my Z to work today for a run and as it's not my daily car, I had to drive home in the dark in it for once! I had forgotten how bad the headlights are, but also isn't the indicator stalk a cheap and nasty item!? Flicking from dipped to main beam reminded me how out of place the indicator stalk seems to the rest of the controls...It's a really flimsy feeling piece of extruded plastic! Rant over;) Cheerz, Jez.

Lasty300 has agreed to kindly come over and help me get my plenum off as I'm a noob ( :hyper: ) but neither of us is quite sure what to look for re the injectors! My ECU gave a code 45: Injector leak. Should I just change out the injectors or is it likely to be something minor that will just require tightening/securing?? Does anyone have some kind of checklist that we can work through?? We're hoping to do this on saturday so would be good to get hold of something before then! Cheers...

  16. Hi folks firstly some lovely looking cars on here seeing them has made my mind up that i want one! :D I was wondering if you could impart soem friendly advice on buying and insuring? I have no experience of Nissan im a Vw golf man at present and with a limited budget to style the 300 series looks the business and the fact theres such a big following for the car that gives me some confidence. If you were me and had about 3k to spend on one what things would you look for and what could i hope to expect from this amount the other thing i need to consider is the fact im 27 and have been driving for only a year (i know bit of a lazy one!) Guys, I seemt o be leaking coolant... but only when the engine is running and has warmed up. run for 20mins or so, its a dribble... more than 30 mins and it can dump its load a lot quicker. it appears to be coming out right at the back of the engine bay in the centre of the car. thanks (as always) to the bay of the zed and my rather large belleh i cant find the leak yet. Any ideas what i should be looking for?? im guessing its the return hose from the heater matrix (once back in the bay) thats at fault... what else could be looking coolant at the back of the engine?? Carperts etc in the car are fine, so its not that far back (thank goodness) :)

I've looked on a couple of websites and they don't seem to list prices for the Zed, this probably so they can inflate prices when we ring!?!?! :headvswal Jase

I have an amp that is connected directly to the positive terminal of the battery using the heavy gauge wire supplied with an in-fuse holder. The holder came with a 20amp blade fuse which is what i have used but noticed the other day it had melted part of the plastic part of the fuse and the holder on the battery side of the fuse. It lost the circuit but not with the fuse blowing but the fuse melting so the blade was not in contact with the sacrificial link. strangly enough if i turned the amp off and on again it would come on for a second then die. I dug out most of the melted plastic, tried a new fuse and tried to make sure it wasnt in a hot area of the en…

FYI, I spoke to someone from racelogic this weekend and he told me they will stop producing their traction control units, because their new driftbox unit is basically consuming all their production time.
