As mentioned a while back, my Zed is off the road due to a tapping noise under load. No other problems like overheating and the oil pressure was magnificent. On a cold start it went right round the clock and when hot was showing 45 lbs on tickover and approx 75-80 when running. I have been around cars all my life especially when involved in the Rally scene and sadly spent a lot of time underneath them at weekends, so I am used to engine noises and there cause. My son Jimmer sadly had to endure this when he was a boy when his hobby was really trains (model & real). Now I was convinced my tapping was due to some sort of ring failure and have been duly stripping the engi…

Hi Everybody, im new to this site and have just bought a 300zx 3 days ago. i took it for the MOT today and got failed on the rear fog because it was wired into what used to be the rear brake light in the spoiler! Is this legit as as far as i can work out this was done professionally and don't really want to change it if i can avoid it, and if anybody knows of any official documentation i can take down to the testing centre and slap it in the testers face let me know if anybody has any info thanks in advance Danny

Hello, i purchased some ingaglo dials, and unfortunately they are different. Turns out, my speedo (which is in KM/H and why am changing dials) is off. Is there a simple resistor change or something to adjust the speedo range? Mine is a 120MPH speedo, and the replacements are a 180MPH face. Many thanks, as I don't really want to purchase a new speedo cluster, or new indaglo dials. I know... should have checked first...

Hi, I have been looking through the old threads and i have found a similiar query to this except for a couple of bits which makes me think it might be something else. The A/C has never worked well in the 3 years i have had the car, but recently it has started to leak into the footwells and when the tempreture is turned up smoke appears in the car. It does however stop again when turned down but there does seem to be a constant leaking into both footwells. If anyone could provide some assistence as to any causes for this or what work i might need doing and its likely cost, i would be grateful. Cheers

Castle combe Race circuit in Wiltshite are holding a Performance car action Event on April 19th. We are having a 300zx.co.uk Club stand and there are Track sessions available. Castle combe is located near the South West/South central border not far from the M4 motorway. Should be a good day out, with many other clubs attending and plenty of Trade stands, wether your after some track action or would prefer to spectate. A kind of japfest event....but errr not just Jap cars :D http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=106559

are there any factory markings on or around the prop to ensure that the propshaft is re-fitted back in its 'balanced' position? when my prop was disconnected it was not witness marked so i have no idea what position it should go back in... atm the vibration feels like an overclocked rampant rabbit!

Started stripping the car today to fit all the shiny stuff i've been collecting for over a year. When i got the bumper off and rad out i found loads of other little jobs that needed doing like tidying wiring up, old brackets for the oem bumper that are no longer needed and general other jobs that you can't do with the bumper on, and i decided to polish the water pipes and fit a new water pump while every things stripped. So all in all a 2 day job has turned in to a week but i thought i might as well do it right then hopefully i won't have to take the bumper off again. ;) I am very impressed with my new rad too it's huge. :D

I´ve just got the news that it might be possible I will get transfered back to the states sometime this summer or end of it; my Z is beautiful and stunning and I would really hate to get rid of it, I would like to know if anyone here has ever shipped a car back from Europe to the states private, I assume I would have to deal with first a carrier who will ship it by boat..then once back there with DOT and EPA? for emissions test etc.. honestly I am totally lost right now and most important what would it cost me to get my Z driven back in the states? I heard many folks tell me it´s best to get rid of it and buy a new one back there..but this one is so stunning new..hard to …
