General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I have jap folding mirrors, drivers side motor is bust, so bought a pair from ebay a while ago in pearl white. Trouble is, mine have the small connector block and the new ones have a larger one. Am i right in thinking that the extra wires are for the heated mirror section and if so, anyone got a simple wiring diagram? Cheers Graham

Not wanting to hijack the NA v TT thread thats on at the mo, Ive just got a question about 300zx/Fairlady insurance that stellaZ posted in response to my post. Let me see if I've got this right. If I was to insure a TT import, it would be registered as a Fairlady and not a 300zx right? I'm only getting a little confused.com as when I use said website it gives me the option to insure both 300zx and fairlady twin turbo's as either UK or Jap. Obviously the difference in quotes between a zx and a fairlady is huge, so i wanna get this right!

i will be replacing the black strip that sits between the targa panels, i know its only held on with 4 bolts, but what bothers me is the roof lining, is it easy to remove oris it just a case of being careful, thanks all. Regards, Chris.

Hi guy's.. I have a new set of wheels, that have pretty extreme offsets on the front, and the front nearside wheel rubs the coolant bottle on full lock. Has anyone ever re-located their coolant bottle?.. If so, how, and where to? Any advice appreciated.. Apart from.. "get another set of wheels" lol

I have been offered a set of 350z brembo gold front and rear brake calipers and disc's , are they the same as the skyline gtr set up that is popular? if not, are they better/worse than the GTR set up?

I have a donor car that I am going to be using the manual gearbox to convert my other auto tt to manual. Do the manual boxes need the cooler/pump or not? Thats the only parts I have to remove from the donor but they are in some mess with rust etc. Cheers John

Gotta a small problemo ere..aight, since I bought my Z something curious is happening, normally I only drive this car on a weekend basis, that is sometimes it can easily stay in my garaje parked for 3 weeks without driving it..only thing I do is drop down and start the engine and then leave it running for about 15-20 minutes and that´s all folks! Ok problem is that when this happens I happen to find that the battery dies..and I have to call my assistance insurance company..mobile assistance comes they re-charge the battery and gives it life and it automatically starts without any problemo... my car had an mot on saturday but it failed 1,headlight needs adjusting 2,high emissions and too much petrol being pumped in the engine 3,handbrake not working well , i told them they could do the work that needed doing, i regret that now, i went in there today and they said i needed new brake shoes and new rear disc, but now iv thought about it the brake shoes and discs cant get worn down that much over the years, i dont do handbrake turns and the car was off the road for 5 months what do you think, am i being conned Nick

Hi all, This evening tried to start my car, but no luck. Just wouldn't fire. Kept on turing over, but nothing else. Thought it might have been flooded engine, so removed the fuse whilst turning over and tried again, but no luck. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks

NOTHING! Yep the old girl went straight thru! I was really chuffed. It had a coupla advisories, mostly minor. 1) Front tyres wearing inner edges (tracking - not a prob) 2) Needs some rear pads soon (easy enuf) 3) High level stop lamp not working 4) Centre exhaust blow 5) Radiator leaking (biggest problem!) Shes not rotted away anywhere either. Not bad for a K plate UK car! As for the radiator... Its not dropping a lot but Im gonna have to replace it. Looking at it its prob the original rad so its not done bad in fairness. Can anyone advise me, is it worth getting a original spec rad or an uprated one? And the exhaust I think I will re…
