Hi, just bought a 1987 turbo. It appears the nearside headlamp has a blown bulb but no idea how to change it. I haven't got a manual to it at the moment. I remember when I had a Gen 2 RX7 I had to take apart the pop up unit to change a bulb. Can anyone help please?

So the list of "to do" is growing. Needs a radiator, a starter and fly wheel, and a general tidy up, I discovered more today.......... Battery is flat, so I don't bother locking it - not like it can be driven off anyway! Last few weeks I have noticed the rear spoiler "bubbles" getting worse due to the frost etc - today opened the boot and nearly drowned with all the water coming out of the tailgate. Needs a major service - although I know the engine was replaced just before I got it, I don't know the guy bothered to change the timing belt. It was a mates who was going back to the UK when the rad blew, and I bought it for beer money, literaly. …

Hi i went to a friends garage today to check my CAS timing out. I was with two mechanic friends, one of them works for the AA one for porsche (great). They looked under the bonnet and said "its ecu controlled" and they couldnt time it up with a strobe gun, but i was 100% sure it could be done as i have read threads here on how to do it but they said it can only be done with a computer... bo**ocks..... So they said best to just move the cas into the middle for good cause..... great so my timing hasnt been done and the car is still detting and reverting to safty boost.... This is SO LONG. I told them that i have messages people who work on these engines all day…

Hi, just bought a n/a auto but it has problems with the gearbox not shifting from 2nd upwards. I have done the autobox diagnostics check and its bringing up 2 error codes 7) Lock-up solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected 10) Line pressure solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected. I have done some searches and it seems these solenoids are in the bottom of the gearbox, any idea where i get the replacements from ?

Hi guys.. As ive just bought and fitted a BIG AMS radiator from Z1 i am now left with no place for the bonnet stay to lay as i had to remove the old radiator brackets. So i am thinking about installing either 1 or 2 bonnet struts to hold up the bonnet. My question is has anyone done this? And if so where did you get the gas struts from etc and how/where did you install it. :) Any help is much appreciated Rob

I have just got my car back form being converted to a manual... But couple of tiny niggles. One of which is the idle is slightly high, say 1300 rpm (as an auto it was good as gold about 750 to 800rpm all the time) It also seems to rev a little when started. Now im just charging my laptop to go check the TPS but is there anything else it could be... one thought that popped into my mind is that its now got a lightened flywheel, could this have affected it and its simply a case of the car needing to relearn whats needed to tickover (because i have to say from when i picked it up this morning to now its got better through the day...) it failed on emissions :cry: , they said there was too much petrol being pumped into the engine, it was supposed to be 0.43 something like that and it was 4.47. does anyone know what will be causing this? any help will be much appreciated :duffer: cheers Nick

my middle part of the exhaust has cats, but has two pipes going to the cats. can i disconnect so i put decat pipes on. i don't have no idea what these pipes do. thank you.

can automatic steering wheel with cruise control on it. can i change this for one that hasn't got cruise control. please let me know.

just been out to start the zed ( shes off the road till i tax her on friday ) and the old problem is still there when i turn the ignition key off and remove it the engine still runs till i press the accelerator pedal . this is now really beginning to get on my tits ive changed the ignition barrel and had a diagnostic check and its NOT got a turbo timer on it cos sometimes if i leave it she will run for a couple of minutes and then stall and yet sometimes she will run on for ages until i press the pedal pleeeeease someone must know what it could be any advise will be appreciated matty

Hi can anyone tell me if the starter is the same on all models? I have an NA manual that needs a starter and most likely a flywheel/ring-gear. Due to lack of cash at the moment it will be second hand spares, just wondering what fits what. I would assume auto flywheels are different, but what about the starter? Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi can anyone help please? Just got back from holiday so car been stood for 2 weeks and the battery has gone flat,problem is the remote central locking now wont open the door. The car has been de locked so i cant get in to charge the battery up!!! Any ideas???

i,v got a bonnet that just wont sit properly farted about with the catch so much i now dream about it , but it just wont sit right seems to sit higher at one side at the front and vice versa dependant on adjustment ,even had a garage try it , tried another catch from andyz but no avail so thinking sod it , might try bonnet pins instead as that will pull down both sides level ,now as mines a black zed i was thinking of carbon fibre style ones that lock so weres the best place to get these cheers peeps

Anyone fitted these before. I need to know a few things to see if I'm being strung up once again. With the manifolds do the bolts need to be shortened or do they fit straight on ?. Do the JWT530bb's fit straight on without hitting the block or do you need to modify something for them to fit. I'm using HKS actuators with them if that helps. ? The Nismo 555's, do they come with seals or do you need to order them seperate ?. Or do they come with the complete engine bebuild gasket set.

Hi guys My car is currently at bodywork plus have a custom bodykit fitted. engine performance about 450 bhp. plan on fitting 19" 3 piece trafficstar wheels. Due to increased performance and size of wheels, standard brakes will look lost. i originally planned on fitting Hi-spec motorsport monster 6 360mm Diameter brakes on front and 330mm on rear. But, at the bodyshop there is another car being moded, which already has hi-spec brakes on. The guys at the bodyshop said they are poor quality! That under hard braking the calipers open, and feel soft. they said i should fit AP. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with Hi-spec brakes. The ki…

Guess what?????? Got it back :D 3 years later....... Omg why didn't i take it to this garage from the begining, i've been messed about and stitched up by 3 or more garage who reckon they could get it all going and this garage gets it running a treat. Thanks Smithy for the recomendation. Very honest and straight with me.

Not a problem any more just chuffed its fixed! Posting here in case anyone else has this prob! On tight bends and roundabouts, my car when getting straight just revved until it "caught" a gear!! Took it to Ceejay at Z Autos today and had some ATF put in (as was bone dry but didnt realise) and now it is perfect, no more revving or slipping and perfect seamless gear changes! Thanks again bud! :-)

can someone please clarify if the indicator flashing bulbs in the dash is the same as the other dash bulbs please? many thanks Nick

Hi I have got an aftermarket oil cooler to fit to my car. I am then going to use the original one for the auto box. Question is, is it ok to just strap the new oil cooler to the radiator or will it be best to make some sort of bracket for it? Can you buy brackets for them i think its a Mocal oil cooler? Thanks Paul
