I currently have a set of wheels with 255's on the rear but they need replacing but how do i find out what size the wheels are so i can see if i can fit bigger tyres??

I'm having serious traction problems, it spins in every gear and is very difficult to put your foot down in unless you have balls. I've got Racelogic tration control, on 5% an 10% the rear steps out, on the wet setting it sometimes kicks out but you can feel it holding the car back, i want to get that power i'm loosing on the road. My understanding of how the TC works is that it cuts the fuel to the engine. Suggestions please. I need to get more power on the road. So far i have thought about. Diff (i've got but to be fitted) bigger tyres (got wider wheels, but need tyres, can go to 255 for sure.) loose weight from the front Adding weight to …

No doubt the topic of much discussion, spring is coming and im thinking about another Z. I know the hassles involved in having a TT so am considering a NA. I cant find a thread comparing the pros and cons though -(my fault not good at using the search probabaly) Can anyone convince me to go for a NA? Whats the pickup like? I have never driven an NA and am wary it may feel slow. Not interested in big power just close to stock TT would be good so what could I do to up the NA's power?

Hi all! I'm in the market for a 300zx and I went to see one yesterday. It was a good price and all seemed ok on it, boost was good, no smoke, drove well, all except the oil pressure gauge didn't work and for some reason the auto-box diagnostic thing didn't seem to want to work, unless my mechanic m8 wasn't doing it right! Should I be worried about the oil pressure gauge seeing as other than that the engine seemed ok? And would there be a reason for the diagnostic to just not work? Cheers all.

Help / advice needed I own a 300ZX fairlady N/A manual Battery keeps going flat. Several times when I jump start it the headlights are on despite the switch being in the OFF position - which I presume is causing the battery drain. I presume it is a faulty swtch. Today the alarm was going off repeatedly and I couldn't stop it with the remote - offside headlight was on brightly, nearside was on faintly. Not sure of the cause. Have any other members had similar problems. Any assistance would be appreciated Thanks Davecalv

Well, the motor in the Zed has been making a tapping noise for some time now and we (Jimmer) and me did not think it was just tappets. So I have kept on driving it until it got worse. It was mentioned by Jimmer that it now sounded 'SERIOUS' and that I should stop driving as it could go 'BANG' in a rather big way. So this morning he popped over and with me holding the light, he proceeded to remove my engine. What a journey it was, there was so much wrong with it that it has cheered me up. It has been overfueling for ages but because the tuning was done by Owen Developments of Oxford, it really meant that it should go back to them. I live in Bristol and it is a toy so there…

My TT Auto seems to have decided that it won;t bother using 3rd gear anymore. It works fine going from 1st - 2nd and back down, and also goes into reverse no problem, but instead of going from 2nd into 3rd at about 5500 rpm it stays in 2nd and goes up to the red line. Needless to say it won't then go much above 70 mph I don't get any funny whines from the3 gear box and eveything else looks normal (temp, boost gauge, fuel consumption etc.). Any ideas?

Hi Everyone Lately there has been quite a few cars for sale and some with respect has had quite a lot of mods done to them. There is one forsale for £10,000 I think and had nearly £42,000 done to it. Now I know there is a lot of things a person should look out for. From bodywork done to it and so on. But What about Engine mods? As I know what to look out for on a standard car such as mine but when you see a custom where do you start. In most cases do you think its not just best to take a specialist with to check things over and insure things are done correctly? Any advise would greatly be taken onboard! Thanx again Nico
