I have read the posts about the coils packs but still can't work out how you tell if the connection/connector ir crap or it is the coil pack? Is there a way to test the electrical pulses at the connector, should they have set values?

I pulled a map sensor from a 300 twin turbo in a scrappy and I was wondering what bar it is? Do they run at 2bar, or 2.5bar? The only info on the sensor is the number "1108" Thanks in advance

I have a red warning light on the car when I've driven it for the first time to the MOT station. It is above the hicas light and to the right. Looks a bit like a horinzontal rectangle with 4 vertical lines coming from it above and below? Any ideas? Only came on under slight load then when out.

Just got a classic car quote from the much recommended Carole Nash came out at £227 for the year i was expecting to have to pay almost £600 like last year didnt realise we could get classic insurance. Was looking at getting a brake brace, anyone know the best place to get one? Also do they make a big difference in firming up the pedal when braking? Thanks Ant

Well nexus performance have had a good look underneath the car while running to see where my oil is leaking from. seems to be a leak from the front AND the rear so for the front the cambelt is being removed and changed as it is coming from a pully of some sort, For the rear the gearbox needs removing to further investigate second leak which seems to be a crank seal. so if the leaks are what he says they are 700 odd quid is a guestimation at the mo. Well it needs doing so gota get did. I was expecting around the £500 mark but there you have it. i dont feel gutted to be honest as this is my little project and im happy to spend money on something i enjoy…

Hi, any one know what the difference is between the TT & NA OEM shocks, would fitting TT shocks to an NA be a worth while mod, are the TT & NA spring rates the same, would NA shocks and TT springs work ok? cheers Paul

Hey all Idle Control Valve playing up :( Just when cold (1st start up of the day usually) just goes up and down (500-1100) for around 10secs then is fine and no probs afterwards for all of driving! Had the same Prob on a previous car and Shot Carb Cleaner down the Throttle Body which sorted it! I know it depends on the Control Valve but would this work or would it just do nothing?? The car went in for a full service, filters, oils, spark plugs etc Also whilst it was there I asked them to have a look at a slight misfire that was occuring whilst cold, it seemed to clear when it was at full temp. Now I have had the car back the car seems way down on power and has a nasty burbling sound when idling and driving at low speeds. They said when the changed the plugs that they noticed that one of the plugs wasnt getting wet at all and diagnosed that one of the injectors was gone. Would a simple service have disturbed something to show an underlying problem i.e now only firing on 5 cylinders or is there a chance that they have messed something u…

I've gotta '91 tt auto. Recently, i had the major 60k service(all belts,tensioners,plugs etc etc) done at a zed specialist garage. Since i've had the car back it runs like total crap!!!! i.e; idle is all over the place,when coming to a stop engine revs drop to the point where the engine nearly stalls but then picks up again,while slowly accelerating the engine will hesitate like its being held back,also there is now a knocking noise coming from the engine too which wasn't there before the service was done. Im really at a loose end at the mo,i expected to get my zed back running almost perfect as it was before but now i'm worried that these so called zx specialists have to…

my headlight and window washer jets have stoped working, they stoped before and i was gonna have a look at the motor but they started to work again, but the last few days have seen them get weaker and weaker and now i cant hear the motor even trying, ive read somewhere that there are inline non return vavles, anyone know where they are, also are uk and japspec washer jet motors the same???? cheers Allan

CAN THIS BE MADE INTO A STICKY! Well heres the small print firstly... you need to be over 25, have another car (main car), zed needs to be 15 yo or older, and a limit of 8000 miles per year.
