ok after sorting my boost pipe probs took car for a long run today approx 280miles up through the highlands and glens with the company of another zed,3 supras and a lexus running a mixture of a road cruising and b road ragging and open road lunacy near the end of the run i was noticing what sounded like low level pinking when in overdrive low rev just feathering throttle, then when flooed to overtake a coach got loud pinking which i am assuming is det but zed didnt go into safety mode and continued to boost as normal, zed has a mines ecu, hks mushroom, decatt (although has 4 silencers then the back boxes) running at 1 bar of boost ,any thoughts on this could it…

Well after all the hard work to get the car back to working from it's sorry state (until I take the engine out for the new one) all I had to do was wait for the paperwork from the DVLA. Yesterday it turned up so got my tax and put all the bits back together and gave her a good clean. Today I headed out with her for my 1st proper drive in a ZX. IT WAS GREAT! What a drive, turned a lot of heads, so comfy and goes well to but didn't push it to hard tho;) The car is looking quite nice now so hopefully see you at Japfest with her next week!

Is it possible to set uyp the standard recircs to dump-to-atmosphere than dump--to-metered inlet? I borrowed some HKS SSQV but had to go bacvk to Recircs. Can i just bung up the recirc inlet and leave the recirc open like a dump valve - would this work? Thanks

Took my daughter and wife out to run some more miles in today. Daughter is still in the baby carrier but will probably be upgrading to a car seat in the next few months. The baby seat fitted nicely in the front seat with enough room behind for my wife to sit. I'm wondering, those of you who put your kid(s) in the Zed. Do you put them in the back seat and what seat have you got that works with lap belts and the akward shape of the bucket seats in the back ?.

Woke this morning to find someone had ripped the passenger wing mirror right off my Zed:cry::cry::cry: Just left the wires hanging there. I'm so angry. I live in a nice area, car is parked on the street. Why do people see the need to do this sort of thing is beyond me. Anyway, if anyone has a replacement lying around, i'd be grateful if you'd get in touch. It wont look good on the stand at Japfest as it is!!!! I'm assuming there'll be no issues with me going on the track without one if i dont get replacement in time, is it a must for MOT ?? HELP !!! cheers Dai

  10. It`s the thin felt type stuff that`s on certain bits in the cabin i.e. on the edges where the dash hood sits on the rest of the dash to stop the plastics rubbing and squeaking against each other. Where can I get some? I wanna take the interior out and put it back all sound deadened and with lots of this tape.

bit of a duh question this one ...encountered quite a frisky water leak this weekend.. engine was at running temp when i stopped, and steam billowed from under the bonnet, when i popped it there was lots of water fizzing from the area above the water pump, looked like it was coming from either of the cooling pipes going under the plenum above the pump.....could it be the stat housing or hopefully just a knackered hose.....Main question, how easy is it to DIY....took one look and thought id better ask on here first. Anyone know of any reasonably priced jap specialists in the gloucester area...... really wanted her up and running for japfest but that dont look too good now.…

this is serious so trust me! iv got a 1991 jap spec and i have had afew upgrades, but nothing intearnal.iv got a blitz boost controller and a power meter id. my car was running around 30psi.yes i mean 30psi.it did this for about 1 week. then it lost power. i could only get 22psi at a push. now i can only get 21.9 at a push. i have had a boost pressure test done and nothing is leaking. the car runns fine ie, no smoke, no noises and not detting. the only other thing i noticed was that my car doesnt seem to purr when im crusing on the motorway anymore and it doesnt feel as responsive as it did. i know this boost is high but the car loves it. it baffles mechanics minds as how…

Hi guys have ben trying to remove the outer ball joint from the hub but can't get it out. Have tried cutting off the flange and driving it through what would be the wrong way it it aint budging. Have heated it and hit it with a 15ib sledgebut still not budging. Come to the conclusion that the hub will hav to come off. Obviously this involves a lot of work so would like some pictures of what to do. Am having problems with the lower arm and the handbrake. Any advice greatly appreciated. Darrell

Problems so far LMAO !!! Problem one Took it out of vallet mode and entered the black jack code. Not accepted, tried the factory code, not accepted. Car stuck in black jack mode with the alarm going off and no power to the ignition. Window stuck open. Called the company that fitted it for me 4 years ago, they could send someone out but at a cost. Guy came out, diagnosed the problem, replaced the switch that you enter the code on, all working again. £80 spent. Problem two took the car out for a drive, keeping the revs below 3000 but above 1000. Drives lovely, engine purrs, feels like it really wants to move. Turbo's kicking in really early at …
