How hard is this to do with the engine in? I know the sump has some tricky bolts to undo but is there anything else? The oil pressure is to low, I think the cause is bearings but thought I would try this as a long shot. (I know it's not the sender as is has been changed and have an aftermarket gauge)

Well I'm hoping this is a teething problem rather than the worst case senario. As you know I'm currently running the car in after an upgraded engine build. I drove the car for about 2 - 3 miles at low speed probably 40 mph max when I noticed the car was starting to overheat (i.e. 3/4 on the temp gauge). So I pulled into Tesco car park to investigate. I suspected an air lock as the fan was still running. I put the heater on max and it was coming out very hot so I left it on to take some heat out of the engine. I monitored the temp gauge and it started to drop a little so I thought it would be ok to turn the engine off and let it cool before checking the water lev…

Insurance last year was a pain in the butt. First time owner of a performance car. Ended up going with C.N. with a really good policy, fairly pleased back then. Cue this morning I get the renewal letter - I was hoping a little bit of discount as i'd now have 3yrs no claims, so just pay em and it's sorted for another year. But NO! They no longer use Royal Sun Alliance as an underwriter so the next best they can offer me comes out at £1558. That's £532 more than last year. Excess shoots from £100 to £350, no breakdown cover or Europe cover. Phoned em up and they can take the £58 off. What a bum deal. So the hunt is on now to burn a hole in my wallet somewher…

just removed my fan to retrieve a dropped bolt that wedged itself behind a pulley for fvck sake  I removed the fan, but didn't note it's position.. Do the fans have to line up to a mark or similar, or just bolt back on ? Thanks..

  6. Just ordered a set...should be here for Japfest! I know a few people on here rate them, but just wondering who's got them. Do the contours fit exactly? Is the quality top-notch? I ordered black with grey outters and a heel plate on the driver's side.

  11. Hi guys, following my problems yesterday which I attributed to a knakd starter it appears my problem is actually a hydro (hydra? - surely hydro would be water? - never mind!) lock in one cylinder. The general view seems to be either a stuck open injector or more likely a pinched lower injector o-ring. I have recently upgraded the injectors so I guess the O-ring would be the place to start. Any observations or other possibilities? Cheers RobH

Im asking you fellow zedders if you know how easy it is to take the interior panels off the inside of the targa tops. Mine have got water damaged from having the car sitting in the rain for a year. Its the small panel on the top itself. The one with the catch on. Just that its bugging me because the material on them have shrunk and bubbled. cheers:bow:

Have dug out someone who refurbs these and for £30 a wheel, he also does traditional alloys as well and is based in Bexhill on Sea. Surface Solutions 01424 893 330

  19. Do you have it on a switch. At the moment I just plug the power into a constant live before I drive. I'm thinking of wiring it into an ignition live rather than getting a switch that you need to plum into your water works so it picks up the temp and tells the fan to come on. What's the harm in having the fan on constantly while the engines running as opposed to just when it gets hot ?

As above or is it more likely that the unit under the O/S door card has failed? Or that the alarm is up the spout and causing the central locking not to work. All was Ok before it went in to the to body shop. They Claim they haven't touch anything and I cannot see anything. The Battery has been off for 7 months?

hi, bought a tt on ebay (not a good idea), and it smoked really badly, but only when warm, on idle and more from the right hand side exhaust. so had turbos sent off to ITS and completely rebuilt with all new internals, and it still smoked but not as bad, so had pcv valves and hoses replaced, genuine nissan uk parts, you can probably guess, it still smokes, not as bad as origionally, but bad enough to be too emarassing to sit in traffic, i called the very helpfull people at Z world for advise this morning, and i am very greatful for their words of wisdom, and they recon there must still be loads of oil in the plenims, which must be true. but i…

  24. This is really becoming annoying, one step forward and two steps back!! I can't start the blasted thing now, it was starting and running ok. Now it can't turn the engine over!! Battery is fully charged and brand new (quality). Turning the ignition on results in a 'jump' but it doesn't seem to have quite enough power to turn the engine over (not even once) - almost as if the crank is 'stuck'. I've swung on the crank front bolt and confirmed that the engine will turn over without difficulty. Pulled the starter partly off and confirmed that it spins when ignition is on (haven't taken it off completely as new exhaust is right in the way). It has done this a couple of tim…

A million posts I know - read a lot of them, but..................... Simple Q. Want to fit a boost controller for my 300 TT. Want Economy (larf) Normal - and Ballistic. Some people say get a re-map first. Not sure if that is necessary in all cases? Say if I got a Profec B II. Would that need a chip before hand? Any offers? cheers Chris
