General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I have a couple of old series 1 Z seats that I don't have a use for. Anyone know the best way to get rid of them? I don't think the local refuse place take old car parts? Is it a case of paying a car dismantlers money to take them off me?

Hello, Been having this problem for a while now and its getting worse doesent matter if its warm or cold engine but runs better when warm... Just! on tick over the engine revs are up and down and then goes back to normal for a while then same again I could rest foot on gas at 2000rpm and when the lumpiness comes back the revs drop back under 1000rpm even though my foots in same place, when you drive it its fine for a short while between lumpiness and sometimes you can hear some det going on under bonnet. I have replaced the connectors on temp sensor but makes no difference. Anyone got an idea to what it is?? heres a vid of the rev counter,

hi all, when i got my Z there was quite severe cracking of the outside lense of the rear lights, i figured it must be age so i fitted a good secondhand pair, now i have come to get it out again i notice the offside rear light is as bad again!! an ideas anyone? can the outside plastic lense be bought and replaced seperatley? i dont fancy forking out for the whole lot again. need a cart load of other bits too bit i will stich them in the Wanted section Thanks

Hi All, Slotted my engine back in and got it running. Not running well though. I suspect I have a big boost leak somewhere. Can't pressurise the system enough to find out where - so it must be substantial. I'm sure it's a leak in the turbo / IC circuit having ruled anything after the throttle bodies out. The reason for my post is to see if anyone can suggest anything obvious that I may have overlooked when reinstalling the engine. I've removed the stock recircs and capped off the hardpipes at 4 points, although admittedly I could do with a better solution than I am currently using for this, does anyone make a kit for plugging these annoying orifices? Im looking to buy the last of the parts from Z1 very shortley but not 100% sure if im buying the right parts suited to my spec. As above i am thinking of putting a boost controller on the Z she is a 94 lwb tt jap import and has only done 55000 miles do i need to get the compression check before i go a head.The car is running on stock internals and tubs only mods are induction kit and hks ssqs.Also if i fit what else should i do i havs got a jd chip to put in and thats all.

Hey guys, after nearly 2 years of muppets wrecking my engine i've finally got my car back... My mechanic has replaced the oil pump, water pump etc. He says that the car is making 2 bar of pressure whether the engine is hot or cold, Anybody got any ideas what the problem is now:( Is it just a new pressure sensor?? Ive now finally got my zed back on the road thanks to andy p and a new ecu but i still have a slight hesitation when pulling away if you give it more revs its fine. But pulling away normally it will try to die so can any one help me at all buy pluging in a conzult in and having a look at things thanks chris

if you open the bonnet the head on the right has bent valves can this head be removed with taking the engine out

Hicas light comes on after aprox 10-15 min of motorway driving.Have checked and topped up power steering fluid but still happening.At low speeds,town work it stays off. Has anyone any ideas please.

Is there any way of removing the passenger door card with the window up? i think the motor is knackerd and dont know what to do, ive got a spare to replace it with....but need to get the card off.....cheers jay

Got a strange noise under acceleration, its a kind of creak or mettalic rattle and is getting more constant and now i can hear it when not booting it. Could it be a turbo part?? or something else come loose? Got no smoke at all from the Zorst.

well out yesterday parked up in the garden went indoors had a cupper went to check the oil and stuff and saw a flipping great crack in the screen it did not happen while i was out anyhow phoned national screens and they are coming to do it Saturday seem to think seeing a thread on here about needing new strips because the old one is bonded to the screen?anyhow national said I would not need them because on the computer it said it didn't :wack:can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi all, I need to get myself a boost gauge to replace the stock one so that I can look at getting some boost jets stuck in without blowing up my Zed... I've been looking at these AC-Autotechnic ones (cos they look purty...): S7 Invision Gauges Anyone come across these before? Also, I'm hoping to mount my boost gauge (and oil pressure and water temp when I get them) in my spare DIN slot with something like this: 2" DIN Slot Pod Again, does anyone have any experience with these? Comments? Cheerz!

After having the Zed off the road for 3 years. I don't remember the brakes being that lame. I want to do a full rebuild of my calipers as I supect that after 3 years of not being used they have got themselves into a sticky situation. Any links to rebuild kits and some instructions on how to do it ? Many thanks.

Can anyone tell me which other nissan wheels will fit a 300zx? I just want to fit some wheels onto a car I am selling, so that I can remove the Nismo wheels from it. The car is a cat 'c' write off, and I need to sell it, but want the wheels off. It doesn't matter what wheels I put on, because someone will probably only be buying it for the engine/box/suspension etc anyway, not to put back on the road.
