  4. Do you have it on a switch. At the moment I just plug the power into a constant live before I drive. I'm thinking of wiring it into an ignition live rather than getting a switch that you need to plum into your water works so it picks up the temp and tells the fan to come on. What's the harm in having the fan on constantly while the engines running as opposed to just when it gets hot ?

As above or is it more likely that the unit under the O/S door card has failed? Or that the alarm is up the spout and causing the central locking not to work. All was Ok before it went in to the to body shop. They Claim they haven't touch anything and I cannot see anything. The Battery has been off for 7 months?

hi, bought a tt on ebay (not a good idea), and it smoked really badly, but only when warm, on idle and more from the right hand side exhaust. so had turbos sent off to ITS and completely rebuilt with all new internals, and it still smoked but not as bad, so had pcv valves and hoses replaced, genuine nissan uk parts, you can probably guess, it still smokes, not as bad as origionally, but bad enough to be too emarassing to sit in traffic, i called the very helpfull people at Z world for advise this morning, and i am very greatful for their words of wisdom, and they recon there must still be loads of oil in the plenims, which must be true. but i…

  9. This is really becoming annoying, one step forward and two steps back!! I can't start the blasted thing now, it was starting and running ok. Now it can't turn the engine over!! Battery is fully charged and brand new (quality). Turning the ignition on results in a 'jump' but it doesn't seem to have quite enough power to turn the engine over (not even once) - almost as if the crank is 'stuck'. I've swung on the crank front bolt and confirmed that the engine will turn over without difficulty. Pulled the starter partly off and confirmed that it spins when ignition is on (haven't taken it off completely as new exhaust is right in the way). It has done this a couple of tim…

A million posts I know - read a lot of them, but..................... Simple Q. Want to fit a boost controller for my 300 TT. Want Economy (larf) Normal - and Ballistic. Some people say get a re-map first. Not sure if that is necessary in all cases? Say if I got a Profec B II. Would that need a chip before hand? Any offers? cheers Chris

Hi All, I'm about to order an O2 sensor removal socket, it's 22mm, is this the correct size? I can't get my calipers on the nut as the engine is in the car hence cannot measure accurately. It seems all references on here are to 22mm but mine appears a little smaller (illusion?). Not bad for under a tenner http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?gotonode=ViewProduct&method=mViewProduct&productid=8377 Thanks in advance. RobH

  12. Subject says it all really. I can get the NA sensors no problem, TT is not listed with my supplier. Another reference I've seen (ngk.com.au) lists the same sensor for all models and, presumably, for both sides (unless their partsearch only shows the first entry in their database). Advice appreciated. Cheers RobH

Yep....the noise is detonation. So i've knocked the car back down to safety boost and am now on a fault finding mission. i'm firstly changing large boost pipes for new ones as mine are knackered, re checking the installation of my EBC pipes etc, changing the spark plugs, moving a pressure sensor T Piece from next to the fuel regultor (oops) to further down the line. Im going to flush the coolant and clean the rad as the car runs very hot Will then be into looking at fueling after that. Any other inside info anyone can give me the heads up on ?? I have popped the car on a conzult (thanks Topless!!!!!) and all is fine with the engine sensors etc.

Hi , im looking for some advice I'll try and keep this short: I have a 1990 Jap 300zx twin turbo that i bought 3 years ago and i took it off the road just over a year and a half ago as i got the chance to purchase a wide arch kit , vented wings , vented bonnet etc all together and i had spare £s at the time. Anyway now its about a year and half later and im ready to put it on the road again, the car hasnt moved for a year and hasnt even been started for last 8 months since i brought it home from my work (where it had sat for months getting everything fitted + painted) and was wondering if theres anything i should watch out for or check before starting it …

Right, I'm going to attempt building my own sub box. I had thought about getting a car audio shop to build me one, but I was always pretty good at carpentry and it's not a complicated shape. Because I have no audio engineering knowledge, I am at a bit of a stumbling block. Really need to know, in essence, what's the key to building something that not only looks good, but also does what it's supposed to and sounds good? Not after a mega system as sounds offs or high street parading aren't really my thing. So a single sub box for my for my 10" pioneer and amp is pretty much all I am after. I can't get the bass definition from my current speakers, even with so…

Is it better to use your Zed every day or now and again, I only live a mile away from work, will driving short journeys do more harm than good? I dont push her over 2500 revs, would it be worth getting a cheap runaround? what do you all suggest? The car is too nice not to drive everyday.:D
