i have a chance of buying a really nice set of wheels at a good price, but this is my problem, the wheels are the same size front and rear, 8" wide with 265 40 18s tyres, atm im using 255 40 17rears and 235 45 17 the sons at home are saying the same size all round wont suit the shape of my car, plus the wheels im thinking of are off an r33gtr which is 4 wheel drive but the z works better with a staggered size i will be guided by the advice of experts on here, thanks:D

Is it possible to take the subframe and other parts from an electric (material) passenger seat and fit them to a manual leather passenger seat to make this fully electric? I looked in my manual and don't think it can be done but thought i'd run it past you guys first before i give up lol.

Afternoon all, I've sorted of stumbled back here after 3 or 4 years after being asked for assitance with someone elses zed. Is the owner of my old car active here? was a 1990 LWB, J-spec witha '99 spec front end and sprayed in bayside blue. It had a collection of blingy bits jammed under the bonnet and some minor performance tweaking. I'd love to know if the old girl is still on the road! Reg was A2 XFL (let me know if you're not happy about reg numbers being on the post and I will delete) Having since gone through an M3, 406 coupe, 406 diesel and now an Audi S8 and TVR Tuscan I have a bit of a hankering to get a zed again now! Whats a …

Hi Started by having a squeaking sound coming from under auto box lever. This went away and then I could feel knocking coming up through the seat and arm rest. Funny thing is as soon as I felt this knocking the car stalled and my radio/ cd player blew up!!!. Car started first time and all was well apart from this knocking. It seems to happen when pulling off and then stops. It has got gradually worse and sometimes knocks at speed. The squeaking noise has returned. I am thinking it must be the drive shaft centre bearing but cannot see as exhaust and shield is in the way. Hence the knocking under seat and squeaking of a failed bearing. Could it be anything e…

  7. Hi All, Not sure If I will be remembered, I used to be a regular here a few years ago and cheeky as it is I need a bit of advice. I've been lumped with helping a mate-of-a-mate with his 300zx which as far as I could tell from the brief phone conversation has gone into safe boost mode. Now its been years since I went near a zed with my spanners, but I was half handy "back in the day" Could someone please refresh my memory as to where the ECU lives and the error codes that flash? (does it "do its flashing" when you turn the ignition on?) Apparently he might have overfilled it with oil, which Im sure isnt healthy, will just have to wait and see.. …

What exaxctly do i need to lower my Z (other than springs and dampers :D )? Theres so many parts to the suspension so wondered what is really needed? I have poly bushed front tension rods and thats it. I'm guessing i need adjustable tension rods with rose joints on the front. Do i need the upper arms? And what about the rear. Just the adjustable upper arms?

Im in the middle of uprating my suspension and have stumbled across Megan Coilovers. However, they seem a little on the cheap side. I've always worked on the idea "you get what you pay for" and just wondered if anyone has had any experience with them, good or bad?

I recently ordered a set of wheels which the company have had problems supplying. Does anyone find that 19" wheels cause any problems with the handling of the car like tramlining etc? My original upgrade was to be a set of 18's but they have offered a larger alternative as they are in stock Thanks Rich

Just thought i'd let you guys and girls no, Ive just taken out breakdown cover with the AA and thought it was quite a good deal. £18.29 a month, and thats for Roadside, Relay, Homestart and Stay mobile, the best bit though is that they will repair the car with new parts up to £500, 5 times a year, all you have to do is pay the first £25 of each claim and you only need to pay 1 month when you take out the cover. It's handy, as my starter is on it's way out, they can pay for the new one and for it to be fitted. Might be worth a shot.

I had my car up on axle stands last night sorting a boost leak (fixed - yay!) but I noticed that the area around the alternator/driver's side CV joint was a bit damp with oil (boo!). I've never noticed a single spot of oil on my drive or anything, but obviously still a little concerned. Any ideas what it could be?
