Hi All Not been on here for 5? years as my 300 has been parked-up , surplus to requirements- along with a 200sx. However I am now getting it back on the road, just needs 2 tyres, patch weld to exhaust, new wipers & front indicators fixing. Bulbs are Ok & I've also tried new ones & have checked the 2 fuses in the driver's footwell- all ok. Any ideas why both would be duff? Thanks in anticipation! L

The age old Z problem as it seems, vibrations! Since picking up the Z31 last Tuesday, it’s becoming apparent it does vibrate, almost as much as my Z32! Except this one has the benefit of no buckled alloys and a seemingly intact centre prop bearing. Tyre pressures running by the book, 28 fronts, 36 rears. (I haven’t had the wheels balanced since acquiring the car, although it looks like all weights are still present). Is the prop shaft in two parts or do you count the second knuckle joint as a third part? What steps can I take to ensure I am running with the least amount of vibrations?

Today I collected this "little" beauty for my Slicktop Project. Nissan/Infiniti VH45DE 4.5 Litre 90degree V8 Many of you will be familiar with the VH45DE, our very own John Dixon has the 500ZX and our U.S forum member PerformanceVH has an excellent build thread on his VH45 transplant. This engine in in fact the twin to J.D's 500zx engine, imported and originally built alongside it, albeit to a less aggressive spec, as owned by forum member Friday(Leigh). I am a big advocate of the Z32's VG30, its a great engine and had this new opportuniity not come up I would be fitting a set of larger turbos, injectors, intercoolers..etc to the VG30 right now. …

Hello again, I have light weight pulleys fitted and just cant seem to get the belts t stop squealing. They are tight and I dont want to tighten them anymore in fear of damaging the bearings. Is there any recommendations on a new belt? One that dont squeak so much? Cheers Mike

I have a Apexi Turbo Timer that I want to fit. However looking at the wiring diagram it links to the ignition. My Toad alarm cuts power to the ignition, so does this mean that the engine will shut off when I lock the car? If so how can I get around this? Thanks Mike

Well typically the day before a long journey my Z is giving me issues. I installed an aftermarket boost gauge as the car hasn't got any sort of boost gauge whatsoever, and it's boosting to 0.1 bar. I can hear the turbos spooling up nicely but it just doesn't speed up much lol. Only other things I've done is blanked off the recircs - 4 large pipes and two vac lines and the battery light is on so maybe it's not at full voltage. Tried doing an ecu diagnostic check but it's not working, and shorting the two terminals on the diag plug isn't working either. Any ideas anyone? Or it will be a slow boring driving to Coventry lol

I think I may have a fault with my left hand side turbo, (as I sit in the car) I think it is not boosting for some strange reason. I suspect that I may have disturbed/damaged something when I grounded the car accidently, catching the left hand side down pipe. Is it possible to easily isolate each turbo at a time so as to see the function of each one individually? It's definitely not responding as she used to. Thanks in advance..

Hello all, so for the past year or so I have had annoying noises when turning or going over speed bumps (very slowly of course). It is an annoying creaking noise which seems to come from either the front left or right, or both. When turning the wheel at slow speeds and manouvering it sounds like a clicking, and then when going over bumps and cambers it can be more of a creaking. It isn't affected by speed or wheel rotation so I dont think it is the cv joints as I know the kind of sound they make. I have adjustable camber arms and tension rods which are poly bushed. I also have different suspension on the car but the noises were happening before I got that f…

Aryt chaps, done a bit of looking into intercoolers and 90% of people seem to say smic only avoid fmic where as 10% say they have no issues with fmic.... Only reason I ask is I much prefer the look of a front mount but its not worth it if it does actually put any of the engine at risk. Only topics I've seen on the matter have been in usa where on hot summer days it can effect cooling but this isn't usa and a hot summer days? Well don't even get started on that lol. Cheers

I took my newly acquired Z31 to my local mechanic to identify what had been knocking underneath the car. It sounded like the offset rear shocker was gone or going. We put it up on the ramp and took a look. Underneath the car is very good, all newly poly bushed and new suspension all round. When we got to the diff, we had a look for play and the right hand side axle seemed to be disconnected from the diff. Sure enough when moved by hand, the assembly came away. With a short sharp push and with a satisfying clunk, the axle went back in. This was the source of the knocking. By hand you could not pull this away again. Now I'm not familiar with this assembly, I've chang…

I will be travelling to Coventry via the M25 (J6) and M40 and could stop at a suitable point on the way if there are any others who would like to convoy up to the event and plan to go that way round the M25. Journey time for me is estimated at 2 1/4 hours (132 miles) to arrive at the venue by 10am. So I will be on my way by 7am latest.

Well, the most reliable car I've owned has now broken down on me! Not sure I'll be at Coventry if I can't get this sorted. Symptoms: Engine won't crank - won't even try. All the dash lights come one. Fuel pump primes. Relays click. Nothing! I am wondering whether my immobiliser has shat its pants. It would normally disable the starter and the fuel pump. Fuel pump pump is clearly audible. I have no idea on the wiring of the immobiliser or indeed where it's actually fitted as it was fitted 12 years ago. Answers on a postcard please.

Been doing a couple of suspension mods... - driftworks total HICAS delete kit - SPL titanium Rear upper control arms - SPL titanium tenion rods - Z1 front upper control arms to be fitted So, I'm definately in need of the tracking before done. Kwik fit in the town have a hunters tracking machine, is it worth getting the car on there or should I just go for normal tracking? Also, anyone know what the correct setting are or is that out the window when you change stuff?

Just walked past my car a few hours later and noticed rear lights on, so got in car to check to turn then off and everything seems to be off but the lights still on...I have now taken the bulbs out as again the battery is drained and just would start....any ideas please? Thanks Lisa
