I think I may have a fault with my left hand side turbo, (as I sit in the car) I think it is not boosting for some strange reason. I suspect that I may have disturbed/damaged something when I grounded the car accidently, catching the left hand side down pipe. Is it possible to easily isolate each turbo at a time so as to see the function of each one individually? It's definitely not responding as she used to. Thanks in advance..

  2. Hello all, so for the past year or so I have had annoying noises when turning or going over speed bumps (very slowly of course). It is an annoying creaking noise which seems to come from either the front left or right, or both. When turning the wheel at slow speeds and manouvering it sounds like a clicking, and then when going over bumps and cambers it can be more of a creaking. It isn't affected by speed or wheel rotation so I dont think it is the cv joints as I know the kind of sound they make. I have adjustable camber arms and tension rods which are poly bushed. I also have different suspension on the car but the noises were happening before I got that f…

Aryt chaps, done a bit of looking into intercoolers and 90% of people seem to say smic only avoid fmic where as 10% say they have no issues with fmic.... Only reason I ask is I much prefer the look of a front mount but its not worth it if it does actually put any of the engine at risk. Only topics I've seen on the matter have been in usa where on hot summer days it can effect cooling but this isn't usa and a hot summer days? Well don't even get started on that lol. Cheers

I took my newly acquired Z31 to my local mechanic to identify what had been knocking underneath the car. It sounded like the offset rear shocker was gone or going. We put it up on the ramp and took a look. Underneath the car is very good, all newly poly bushed and new suspension all round. When we got to the diff, we had a look for play and the right hand side axle seemed to be disconnected from the diff. Sure enough when moved by hand, the assembly came away. With a short sharp push and with a satisfying clunk, the axle went back in. This was the source of the knocking. By hand you could not pull this away again. Now I'm not familiar with this assembly, I've chang…

I will be travelling to Coventry via the M25 (J6) and M40 and could stop at a suitable point on the way if there are any others who would like to convoy up to the event and plan to go that way round the M25. Journey time for me is estimated at 2 1/4 hours (132 miles) to arrive at the venue by 10am. So I will be on my way by 7am latest.

Well, the most reliable car I've owned has now broken down on me! Not sure I'll be at Coventry if I can't get this sorted. Symptoms: Engine won't crank - won't even try. All the dash lights come one. Fuel pump primes. Relays click. Nothing! I am wondering whether my immobiliser has shat its pants. It would normally disable the starter and the fuel pump. Fuel pump pump is clearly audible. I have no idea on the wiring of the immobiliser or indeed where it's actually fitted as it was fitted 12 years ago. Answers on a postcard please.

Been doing a couple of suspension mods... - driftworks total HICAS delete kit - SPL titanium Rear upper control arms - SPL titanium tenion rods - Z1 front upper control arms to be fitted So, I'm definately in need of the tracking before done. Kwik fit in the town have a hunters tracking machine, is it worth getting the car on there or should I just go for normal tracking? Also, anyone know what the correct setting are or is that out the window when you change stuff?

Hi guys, I am considering sir charles na at the moment to swap in my tt engine as the original plan was to respray mine and fit a 99spec kit. Who might be able to take on that job, and at what price as I might have to go for it if the price is right! I would then need to swap the na into my tt though so i can sell it. Might be a bit too much of a hassle, but interested to hear opinions!

Some of you may or may not have seen I put my Z32 up for sale a couple of weeks back. It wasn’t perfect but all round a great car, both the spoiler and bumper needed some cosmetic attention but I couldn’t see myself investing in the car. I will be sad to see it go this week but hopefully someone will take it further than I could. Yesterday, after a couple hundred miles of travel, I picked up my first Z31… I think she needs a pair of rear shockers on the back, one on the offside rear is knackered. Where would I go looking for spares for the car, I know they are quite common in the US, just wondering if there is a preferred site.

Hello! So after lookign at the underside of the car I noticed how gross the stock downpipes back to the cats are. they have a heatshield or something covering them and the pipes themselves look quite small, what is the standard size? Also, what size can I get away with sensibly as a bolt on? And finally will a stainless pipe change the sound on a turbo car? Thanks!

I’ve just picked up a set of OEM alloy wheels (courtesy of Jimmer) and I’m looking at replacing the wheel nuts. I currently have aftermarket alloys with ‘tuner’ style wheel nuts – the type that require a big Allen key to remove. I think they’ll look a bit out of place against the standard wheels and would prefer something a little more understated. Can anyone tell me what size wheel nuts I need to go with the standard wheels/studs? So far I’m to believe that I need M12x1.25 Thread with a 60-degree taper. I’m not sure if this is correct, or how long the bolts need to be. Finally, any suggestions where I can buy them from? Thanks

  21. A new exhaust manifold product from AshSpec. Great to see that vendors are still prepared to put the R&D into producing new products for the Z32. Probably best to wait for distributors (eg Speciality-Z) to stock the manifolds rather than getting them direct from AshSpec though. http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2609693/AshSPEC-Low-Profile-High-Flow-Cast-Iron-T2-Exhaust-Manifolds.html

  23. Hi, I recently bought a timing belt tensioner on Z-Centre, after not having any contact for a week i decided to ring. It turns out he has none in stock and wont be buying them until the pound increases in value. He said i will have to wait until the pound increases so he can buy them in which could take weeks. Where can i get a new tensioner from in the UK? My car is tapping on the top end so i cannot drive it, leaving me without a car. I need this job doing asap and the cam belt 120k service is due, so i refuse to take it all apart to put it back together again to take it all apart again to put it all back together...again. Can anyone advise me…

I'm taking off my Nardi wheel and refitting with a Mondo-refurbished steering wheel with an Arubadave red Z logo. My Z has always had an aftermarket wheel fitted to it. It came over with a Momo 'Race' which didn't feel right in the car, I then fitted an old-skool 90s Momo wheel and then sourced my brand new-never been used 90s Nardi Torino. So it's always had a HICAS boss fitted and therefore I have never had anything to compare. I fettled the wiring so that the CC stalk works, so I'll need a replacement slip ring and a bit of harness which is no problem. I have looked on Nissan FAST and can't see if there's anything else required, so assume that once I r…

Well, time to bring some sad news. Had great run up to Coventry where we're staying for the week, car was running beautifully for the first 100 miles... And then the gearbox gave out... :crying: the gearbox oil was topped up before the journey but it spontaneously decided to pack up. We were coming to a roundabout and it would just grind horribly. Once it grinded and limped into second it wasn't so bad so we made it here thankfully I guess. We also found there was no reverse gear and neutral/park would grind so the gearbox has had it really. I'll make an effort to limp up to Coventry museum as if the gearbox is toast, I might aswell run it until the cogs becom…
