Well today was the day I said goodbye to Silver Streak. I took the car up to see JD and picked up the new owner on the way. We tinkered, we mapped and we mapped some more then we tinkered some more (Well JD did :D). After some very nice mapping, we dyno'd the car. At 14psi we were hitting 500bhp, we continued to map and up the boost with 19psi as the safe target. Unfortunately at only 16psi the dyno maxed out before the car hitting its 530bhp limit. So the rest of the mapping had to be done on the road which was fun to say the least. The car is now mapped at 19.5 psi and I can safely say it's rapid to say the least. God only knows what BHP it's running now a…

Just swapped my old cracked bumpers for newly painted ones today. Bit of trepidation due to long and detailed idiots guides that I've read. However, it all went well. The rear took longer due to the boot being dismantled to get all the nuts. One thing - after the car was bolted back together - we found a piece of moulded polystyrene that fell out of the old front bumper - we left it out. It looked like it was shaped for a reason but couldn't work out it's usefulness so it stayed out!! Any obs?

Went onto confused.com to see how much they would quote for the Zed. How shocked was I when I scrolled down the list £99,999 - £100,044  all they had to say was "no thanks " I think I will call Adrian Flux :o

Had to go from cornwall to newport to manchester to london and back to cornwall in 2 days doing site visits. had to drive like a loon to get round everyone in time. had a nite at my bother in laws last nite. Its the 1st time he's seen the new Z, naturally i took him for an educational crusie round the A roads and let him have a razz round the twisty bits around the cliffs. 0.5k from home felt the ass end waving around and pulling to the side, got a flat tyre. They are run flats so managed to limp home. tried to pump it up on the off chance that it was a pixie magic self repariing one. I could hear the air escaping from around the back of the tyre so felt around to se…

Both of my o2 sensors on my UK TT are knackerd, but i have a spare pair on my jap that im breaking. So i think change them over as the jap ones were perfect. Get my new Snapon 3/8 offset tool, a few bars, and some universal sockets. Sprayed Rust off on them last night to soak em up. 1st attempt, after 10 mins dosent want to move, start swearing at them and threatening to kill them and comments to the manufs. walk away to cool off. 2nd Now have coffee and fag on the go, they must move now as im feeling calmer.........another 10 mins, and the language is getting worse. Spray loads of rust off on them and leave for a while. Go and make and sarnie, watch some…

I'm having a real job trying to get my o/s cat off the manifold. I've removed the 3 bolts from the studs but the bugger won't come off. Tried all the usual methods i.e soaking in wd40, whacking it with a mallet and pry bars but it won't budge :headvswal The engine was out late last year so I don't think it's rust causing it. I'm wondering if the previous owner has used some sort of sealant on it that's sticking it. The n/s one came off easily. I'm reluctant to heat it, unless I have to, as I'll probably just end up setting myself on fire :mac1: Anybody have any ideas how I can get it off? cheers Dave

For the first time my Zed went on the motorway today. Up until today z has been only on A roads. After staying too long on the garage, I gave the zed a good thrash... :smash: Oh boy, I didn't thought my zed could drink that fast... and I thought my bike was expensive. What a drive, my instinct tells me you are on the speed limit and when I'm about to hold the speed the Z screams "there are still unused gears" :duffer: what can I say... Just a question though, mine is only a N/A how are those TT owners coping

Hi Guys I appear to be dripping a liquid from the front near side just infront of the wheel arch. It appears to be clear and doesn't smell. I haven't used the aircon and the radiator water level stays contant. I've had the front brakes done - new discs n pads, but the liquid is not around the wheel and brakes are fine. Any ideas??? I can post photos is someone tells me how to. Spencer

I've been reading up and messing around with a few ideas before i take the big plunge and buy the cam/rocker/lifter set up for the car this weekend. It's not cheap so i need to make sure i'm doing the right thing so this is what i've finally decided on is a solid roller lifter and cam to cope with the larger high lift crower springs. The cam i've pretty much decided on is the Crane PowerMax SR-232 giving me 232/240 @ 0.050" and 112 degrees separation. It's the second mildest solid roller I can opt for and if i need more later on i can always opt for a bigger cam when i need it. The important bit is that as the engine is a 383 stroker it's got a 0.900" base circle …
