Dunno if it's a subscribed member, seen this car about a few times. All kitted up with pop up lights and Ferrari replica alloys, Ferrari badges etc. At least I think it's a 300zx, I recognised it from a side view, the shape of the rear hatch lid seemed familiar. I think the rear lights are still 300zx. I'm new at the 300zx thing! It was for sale as well, couldn't see the price.

I want to swap my manual transmission with a better one that I have. It does not have oil coooler since it's a jap spec. So my question is: Is the oil cooler for the transmission really needed or is it just overkill?

I'm refurbing calipers at the moment. Standard original ones. I'm going to get new discs all round most likely grooved & drilled. The important thing is that i'm going to put larger fronts on with a relocation bracket. So on the website dbpower I see various larger discs BUT also I see larger pads for standard calipers to be used only in conjunction with a larger disc. Makes sense to me as the larger pad will cover the width of the discs contact surface. Now I am stuck with choosing pads. I was going to just get ebc turbo groove discs with the new larger redstuff pads, job done. But I see mixed reviews about redstuff. So below I break down what I…

Well today was the day I said goodbye to Silver Streak. I took the car up to see JD and picked up the new owner on the way. We tinkered, we mapped and we mapped some more then we tinkered some more (Well JD did :D). After some very nice mapping, we dyno'd the car. At 14psi we were hitting 500bhp, we continued to map and up the boost with 19psi as the safe target. Unfortunately at only 16psi the dyno maxed out before the car hitting its 530bhp limit. So the rest of the mapping had to be done on the road which was fun to say the least. The car is now mapped at 19.5 psi and I can safely say it's rapid to say the least. God only knows what BHP it's running now a…

Just swapped my old cracked bumpers for newly painted ones today. Bit of trepidation due to long and detailed idiots guides that I've read. However, it all went well. The rear took longer due to the boot being dismantled to get all the nuts. One thing - after the car was bolted back together - we found a piece of moulded polystyrene that fell out of the old front bumper - we left it out. It looked like it was shaped for a reason but couldn't work out it's usefulness so it stayed out!! Any obs?
