General Discussions - 300ZX Related

After an overheating problem my heater is now not getting hot, it appears to be an air lock. Ive tried very hard to bleed it but without success. Thinking the heater was blocked, ive removed the inlet and outlet pipes and blown a hpsepipe both ways into the heater and it passes clear water. Has anyone got any suggestions to where else there is a blockage? The temp guage reads normal, but the engine is getting very hot.

Hey, I'm looking to put bigger brakes on my zed as mine are shot and while replacing i may as well go the full monty on them. :p I currently have Rays Racing Volk TE37 apparently,( i don't have scooby about wheel brands etc i'm afraid), all i know is that there light as hell and that's what i like. Thing is there only 17 inch and no hope of getting bigger brakes behind them so i need to change them. What i want are some very light 19 inch wheels with the right dimensions ,offset and size etc to accomodate either some larger diameter disc and bigger calipers. So suggestions on wheel brands and specific wheels if you could, And what brake set up is…

Hi, Does anyone have any pictures or links to pictures of the doors with the panels removed? The :wack: second bodyshop removed all the runners/fixings on the doors for some reason and I want to put all the right screw/bolts back on (I have a big box of them now lol). Cheers Vijay

just got back from having my cars geometry set up at http://www.centergravity.co.uk/index.cfm and cant believe the differance its made.when i arrived there at 9.30 he started work and didnt finish til 5pm.first he asked me how i drive and wanted it to handle.as it used to step out at the sniff of a corner we decided to go for ballance rather than drift happy.then once up on the ramps and several cups of coffee later he spent a good couple of hours checking and greasing all the components.he was very informative showing me if anything had any signs of wear, we found out that she had ohlins coilovers which i never knew!.anyway he then decided to weigh me so that she could b…

as the title states really, only started doing it about 2 weeks ago, i havent really driven it all winter so cant really put my finger on what has gone wrong/changed. basically if you let go of the steering wheel it rights itself to centre but seems to want to go slightly too far and the car pulls to the right, there also seem to be much more resistance in the wheel when steering to the left, any ideas?? cheers

Hey all, I'm going to see a guy tomorrow who is breaking a TT manual, and I'm removing the clutch pedal assembly and booster, just wondering, has anyone got any pictures of it on the car, or any tips for removing it? Reason being, by the time I get there, although he said his garden is well lit, it's still gonna be pretty dark, so any help would be appreciated :-) I'm hoping i don't have to remove the dash, I've got pretty small hands, and I don't mind laying on my back for a while (who doesn't, haha), so that might help... Hey people, I recently put some deep dish 18s on my car and then found out that one of my rear suspensions had given up on me. Having said that I also noticed that the drive is really bad and uncomfortable. It feels as if you get thrown around in the car on uneven/bumpy roads. Must be due to suspensions being really soft as they are standard. So am looking to upgrade the shocks and suspensions soon. Have read good things about KYBs and Eibachs off course. I want to know with shocks and suspensions, what else needs to be changed?? as the whole current setup is standard. I've done a search and have come across tension rods and struts etc being mentioned but ain't got a cl…

got it back :D not the best job but will match the rest of the car LOL its not fixed on yet thats a job for tomorrow afternoon but i just couldn't help myself and had to see what it looks like.

I need to drain the oil out of the autobox on my breaker but my drain pan doesn't have a drain plug :mad: (I thought it was only NA's that didn't have them?). From what I can see I need to remove the drain pan bolts and the strainer then drain the oil. Am I going to get a face full of oil when I take the drain pan off or is there more to it? Also, do some TT autos have no drain plug or have I got an N/A autobox/sump pan on my car? Cheers Dave

Hi all, just bought my first Zed and need some advise. The heater matrix was knackered when i got her, ive replaced it and reconnected the pipes, but still not getting any heat in the cabin. Have tried bleeding it and i am getting water through both matrix pipes at the rear of the engine but no joy. also theres loads of foam coming out the radiator and bleed screw when i open them? hello can somebody please post some pictures of where on the engine you pick up the vac for the dumpvalves as i want to replace the pipe wrk and no matter what i putt off they still work lol please please help!!! the problem i have is on the left hand side of the engine just behind the throttle body but underneath there is a metle pipe that has be cut and crushed any ideas to what that is and why it would have been cut ???

iv got water in my footwell its coming from the targa drain hole dont know how this happened or how to fix well i have an idea or 2 but just wondering if anyone has had this problem cheers

Hi there, just drove my car back from work and it was going fine, parked up for about 2 hours and went to start it an dit was completely dead. Dash lights come on as normal but when i turn the key there is nothing!! The only noise was a on and off buzzing noise that appeared to be coming from the valvel for the boost controller. I have disconnecterd the power to that and gthe buzzing has gone but there is still nothing. There isnt even that ticking noise that you associat ewith a flat battery. I have had my jump starting pack on there and that made no difference so im fairly confident we can rule out a flat battery. The bugger of it is that its parked in th…
