Hi, Can anyone tell me what clips are used to hold the door runner finishing guide on? It's the part that the window guide runs through that can only really be seen when the window is down. It's item 80906/7 on http://www.300zx.lv/catalog/?gr=J&sec=809 and there are 4 holes, 1 round and then 3 oval shaped. The parts catalogue only shows the 1 top round clip so can anyone tell me what's on there cars for the other 3 oval ones? Thanks Vijay

Evening folks, I've noticed a strong smell of petrol and hugely reduced fuel economy over the last week or so. This is combined with the zed taking a while to kick in when starting and idling at what sounds like increased revs but not displaying very high on the dial. I had a look this morning and found a pretty fast drip which would account for the fuel loss, it's only happening when the engine has been running for a few minutes. I've attached a couple of pics showing the area, not very well highlighted as I only have paint!! Could you guys offer any advice on this, reckon it's a five minute job or something more serious? Many thanks in advance,…

in desperation, i need some advice on my front wheels and them scrubbing on the suspension. the story goes - ive recently got some 245/19s on the front (to replace my 225/18s). now the problem is that theyre right up against the elbow joint in the first picture, and i mean the wheels are almost being prevented from going to full lock. the first picture shows that even with that side of the car jacked up i can barely get my finger in the gap between the tyre and the joint - it doesnt look it but that's crushing my finger! needless to say that when going over even the smallest bump, i get some horrible rubbing sounds (oddly enough only from the offside though - ye…

Thanks to the DVLA and they're slow ass service of getting a replacement log book to me due to useless previous owner, my zed will still be off the road for another week or so. So this weekend I plan on giving it a good old clean as the previous owner had it stood for 2 years, and the paint is looking rather faded etc. I can do all of that fine, but the engine bay is manky, very very manky. Basically, you can't see the engine lol. What's the best way to clear all of the grime and crap from the engine? I don't want to take the risk of jet washing it or steam cleaning it, don't trust old electrics much! What would you chaps and chapesses recommend? …

A while ago now, we went on a zed convoy (over 2years ago) and someone took a pic of my car as i was driving past. I was just wondering if anyone had it and if they could post it on here. The pic was showing the left hand side and rear and just looked cool.

  10. Hi all. Car has been missfiring for a while had the o2 sensor changed which helped. Ive noticed on start up there is heavy blue smoke with a strong petrol smell. when accelerating it gets worse and can see smoke through the rear view mirror. I suspect this is giving me the poor mpg im getting and lack of performance. Any ideas people? Regards Andy

well what a morning ive wasted. the garage that fitted my 19s couldnt book me in to fit the spacers (again!), so i decided to get into town and find a motor factors who could tell me what paint colour ive got. the chap at central car paint in Leicester was really helpful, but after looking at 1000 colours, we couldn't match it. so i drive over to b&q to see if theyve got any meshing suitable for my new bumper and all the meshing they had looked like its only suitable for keeping chickens in, so on the way back i pass by kwik fit and see that it's quiet, so get home with the intention of getting them to put my spacers on, collect the spacers and take the Z to them. lif…

FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just been to kwik fit to have my 20mm spacers put on and the thread coming from the hub comes out too far through the spacer and stops the wheel sitting on the spacer properly :headvswal  :headvswal WHY??!?!??!??!?!? the guys there recommended getting an extra 10mm standard spacer to go on top of the 20mm hubcentric. plus they reckon (and i agree with them) that the rear doesnt need spacers at all, and seems to be almost flush with the arch as it is! surely the hubs are spaced out the same front and back arent they? f***ing wheels man! EDIT: the rear hubs seem to be 20mm wider than the front so ignore my commen…

Hi guys, just wondering who or where do full engine rebuilds? Im hopefully going to be looking at getting mines rebuild + new turbos next month (just trying to get my money sorted just now). Im just outside Glasgow but i know theres not many places up here that have the experience with rebuilding these cars. Ive been given a couple of numbers from places up here that specialise in Jap cars but i was just wondering what other options i have , as i dont mind getting the car transported somewhere else if its worth it. Cheers

Hi all, I don't get over here much any more, seems there's always too much to do. Hello to anyone that's still on here from the old Craig days. :D Anyway, I still have my J' Spec '90 TT. I've had it since 2000, it's had one 'blow over' by Leonado a few years ago, but it's all looking very sad now, and I'd like to bring it all back up to scratch for the summer. It's an 'original' car, and there are a few things I need to replace, this leads me to the reason I'm posting, I need help and advise as to where to source stuff. Is Courtesy still the best place? Anyway here's a provisional list of what I need: OE rear spoiler Door seals pl…

Just thought I would post this to help others who have the painful vibration issues associated with the zed. I would suggest that after you have had your wheels checked and re-balanced a couple of times and the vibration is still there, that you have your GEARBOX REAR MOUNT checked/changed - and BEFORE you change tyres, swap wheels, remove propshaft, replace centre bearing etc. It's quite a simple job and the mount is not expensive - somewhere around £50.00 I believe. :D Here is a picture from my 1990 Jap import 2+2 and as you can see it's completely collapsed. Now you may think looking at this that I had a bad vibration problem - not really! On some days …

I'm having problems with my steering, don't think I have any problems with the speedo, other than it's lazy. (been like that since i've had it) In the last few days I have been have problems turning, the best way o describe it is that it's lumpy. Sometimes it's light then heavy then light, this is on the same turn. Hope it make sence I've checked the fluid levels and they are ok, checked the sensor in the gearbox and the cap is ok and hasn't come out. haven't checked voltage under there as wasn't sure how to do it. any ideas??

I can't believe it. Its finally turned up. It's taken 50-60 emails, 379 days, at least a dozen phone calls ( got no answer from any of them ). I must admit I didn't think it would turn up. I posted on the US forums to try and get a response or some help. It's my radiator fan and shroud from Ashspec. It turned up Monday morning. He had gave me a shipping number last week in a email, but until it turned up at my door I wouldn't of believed it had been sent. The guy is a nightmare to deal with. Im just glad I planned my rebuild a year ago and started ordering bits then or it would of held my rebuild up. I forgot to say he forgot to send the mounting bra…
