Hi People, the fan shroud on my Z is battered and looks crap. Is it ok to run without this? as far as im aware its only there to protect the fan so might remove it all together. Regards Andy

It's happened a few times now and lasts for various periods of time. For no reason my zed starts idling erratically between 1500rpm to 2500rpm. The difference when this happens to any other time it does this is that there is a clicking noise from the instrument binnacle area which coincides with the idling. Does anyone know of a relay or something in this area that might cause this problem and noise. Thanks Rich

Iv requested advice on this problem before but still cant find culprit, and now when i start the engine from cold the cam belt seems to be rubbin off the cam belt cover. Iv changed the belt around 3000 miles ago.The original problem is a rattle that happens when i put my foot down and seems to be comin from low down front. iv checked the exhaust and the brake disks plate and both are tight and firm. Also the rattle only happens when its in gear, iv tried revin the engine when it starts rattlein out of gear and the rattle is gone. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. The cam belt only seems to happen when the engine is cold

  13. Over the last few month i have been checking how accurate the petrol tank gauge is on the zed, i have let the tank run down until the petrol light comes on then go for a fill up, ive done it 3 times and found that the tank still contains 18 litres of fuel when the light comes on(basically a quarter of a tank, or by my zeds economy around 70ish mile). thought it would be useful to share although yours may be slightly diffrent, all i know it its given me confidence that if i realise im miles from anywhere with no money on me, ive got a 70/80 mile range to sort something out does anybody know if you can buy more accurate gauges for the zed that fit where the old on…

Hi, folks I have taken the headlights out of my Z (horrible job!), and I have fully dismantled them. The reflective cones behind the projector beam assembly are beyond cleaning - the silver has deteriorated beyond redemption. I have found several spray-paints that have a silver mirror finish, but won't take more than 50 degrees C. Does anyone know of a spray-paint that will re-silver them convincingly AND take the heat? Or has anyone got a set of cones? ....please don't make me use ice-cream cones lined with baking-foil...! :)

Is there a common reason why the headlight washers would not work (UK car)? The normal windscreen wash jets work fine. If I press the headlight washer button with the lights off I get absolutely nothing. If I press it with the headlights on, I get the click of a relay and the windscreen wipers go, but nothing from the headlight washers, no noise of a pump or anything. Any idea where I should look first? I know they're hardly important, but I'm the kind of person that likes a car where everything works that's meant to work! Thanks, Phill

While the car is warming up and im coming to a junction, the car feels like something is making it slow down a lot faster. Say the revs are at 2.5K and i let off, it feels like something is pulling it down. It doesn't stall or anything i was just wondering what it is that is doing it? Once its heated up its fine. Thanks for looking :D
