General Discussions - 300ZX Related

hi everyone, i'm new to the forum and wondering this may sound daft but are the props different on the short and long wheel base models,as i'm only after a centre bearing,thank's for any help.

I'm having problems with my steering, don't think I have any problems with the speedo, other than it's lazy. (been like that since i've had it) In the last few days I have been have problems turning, the best way o describe it is that it's lumpy. Sometimes it's light then heavy then light, this is on the same turn. Hope it make sence I've checked the fluid levels and they are ok, checked the sensor in the gearbox and the cap is ok and hasn't come out. haven't checked voltage under there as wasn't sure how to do it. any ideas??

I can't believe it. Its finally turned up. It's taken 50-60 emails, 379 days, at least a dozen phone calls ( got no answer from any of them ). I must admit I didn't think it would turn up. I posted on the US forums to try and get a response or some help. It's my radiator fan and shroud from Ashspec. It turned up Monday morning. He had gave me a shipping number last week in a email, but until it turned up at my door I wouldn't of believed it had been sent. The guy is a nightmare to deal with. Im just glad I planned my rebuild a year ago and started ordering bits then or it would of held my rebuild up. I forgot to say he forgot to send the mounting bra…

just bought 2x new brembo 345mm disks and mouting kit... cant decide on.. porterfield and what type or redstuff ? ive read all the posts but no real answer other than stay away from yellow stuff and race pads.... i need something that works nearly strait away and pulls you up so your rib cage feels like it gonna come out....

Had my new clutch fitted today, whats the best way to use a new clutch? Is there a technique to bedding them in?? Thanks guys

:p woohoo . was worried for 4 hours today as the car went in after lunch. she passed with a couple of advisories tyres worn on inside edge (time for the alignment again me thinks) slight play in ns tie rod ball joint ns and os slight play in rear wheel brgs um noisy exhaust :p emissions were good at co % vol: max limit 3.500 mine 2.510 hc ppm vol: max 1200 mine 273

My car is failing its MOT on emissions. Any advice on what to do to bring it down? What are the usual things? I have noticed that my idle is high, around 1200 rpm.

as the title says "clutching at straws " here with my starting problem but, if any of the belts were slipping on start up could this cause problems when trying to start her up ? Maz

I have a TT 1991 and am having some problems and would appreciate some advice on a few things. The car has done 92K miles and has been driven extremely carefully and the turbos rarely used. The car is always heated up ans cooled down at the start and end of every trip. The last few weeks I have noticed a few problems. Firstly, there is a very loud tapping noise coming from the drivers side behind the dashboard which could either be in the car itself but can also be heard outside the car, near the drivers side wiper. Its normally only when cold and when idling in traffic. Secondly, for the last few weeks the car has smelt very strongly of petrol despite being …

Hi all trying to take out the subframe and succeeding to a large degree the only thing stopping it is that the diff wont come away from the Prop for some reason, the 6 bolts are all un bolted but it wont come away any body got any pointers??? Many thanks Tony

:confused:Will these fit fr.8.5x19 45 offset and 9.5x19 35 offset i reckon the front should be 35 offset same as the 19's i'm replacing but the supplier reckons sticking a 5mm spacer behind the front wheels any thoughts please

Sounds stupid but does anyone else's car give off a weird smell from some the rubbers, the headlight rubbers seem to be the worst,always noticed it since owning the car but as it's been stood for 6 months it seems stronger now.

Well very very very nearly.... The interior anyway :D olny have to mount 2 LED's in the rear quarter trim for the alarm repeaters.....an retrim a feew pannls i'm not happy with/got damaged in storage.... Dropped Abi of at School and was back home by about 9.15... straight out on the car and getting it all fitted, fixed, soldered, replaced and refitted.... One of my buddies even popped over for an Hours chat... in his R33 Skyline, V nice motor...... Heres the finished pictures..... 1 happy chappy here, even managed to clear out and hover the inside, just need to clean the out side now........ oh and re fit the foot rest lol …

Hello, my car started being wierd this morning, i turned it on to go to work and the clutch biting point is now really close to the floor (was perfect last night) and the gearstick has become very very stiff to move. any ideas? The gearstick was a lot looser on the way home but still pretty solid, the clutch was still on the floor

Can anyone post a piccy of the Oil Pressure Gauge Sender on a Jap N/A 1990 ? Mine is knackered and I think I've found a new one, but cant get under to check if its the right one before I buy it. If no-one has a pic. does anyone know the original part number. Cheers.

Hi all, I discovered the other day that I have heated mirrors! Awesome! However, what isn't so awesome is that I have in fact got heated mirror. As in the driver's side one. The passenger one doesn't work! Is this a common thing with a common fix, or shall I just pull it apart and start checking?
