Hi everyone, been away for a while concentrating on family and work for a while as the Z funds ran dry... I managed to procure an original Nissan Consult unit and have successfully repaired it over the past month or so.... If anyone locally needs to use it then let me know if I can help..... and you can either pop round or I maybe able to come to you.... Getting ready to swap out the faulty auto box, transmission ECU and prop shaft when the weather picks up.... Paint maybe a while off yet.......

Hey been ages since I was last on here as got rid of my z but looking at getting a new one preferably a SWB manual twin turbo and price depends on condition as happy to do a bit of work on it. Was just wondering if any of you guys knew this z and had and thoughts. Price seems steep for a car with an MOT failed and high miles. But maybe things have changed. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/300zx-z32-turbo-manual-stillen-replica-SWB-/282352344475?hash=item41bd82dd9b%3Ag%3AGEcAAOSw2xRYbd5D&_trkparms=pageci%253A4fe89cad-eeb3-11e6-8f88-74dbd1807b99%257Cparentrq%253A2270233915a0a6228619f4b7fffd6fa2%257Ciid%253A14

What is wrong with the guys bidding this zed up, reading the needs doing list is extensive, the corrosion alone is going to cost and all of the service items marked as done inc things like the cambelt where at least 7 years ago ! so that means they all need doing again be it parked up since 2007 or not. Seriously a UK car ? already rusty outer sills back and front, engine looks like its been open to the elements, by the time its had the corrosion, painting, and engine work done it will already be a money pit, goodness knows what it is like underneath, just to add injury to insult the receipts show it had lots of work done at Ztech....oh my it just gets worse?? …

I'm still having problems getting the 300zx to start when cold. The car will start when warm and also will start once it's been running for 30 seconds or so. At the moment when the cars cold I have to let the engine crank over and hold the accelerator down and when it try's to start ease the accelerator to get it to idle. The car has no error codes No air leaks Compression readings stone cold are 164 165 164 and 153 150 153 taken today. It's currently mapped on a nistune board but prior to that map it had a John Dixon chip and the cold start issue was still there. My basic spec is: Weisco forged pistons Cometic head gaskets Gt52…

Not much of a "build thread" for the foreseeable, but I'll use this to document my car's journey anyway. I grew up on Gran Turismo on Playstation, so like many others I'm absolutely obsessed by Japanese sports cars, from the '90s in particular. For many years I wanted a Skyline or a GTO (or NSX if I was rich), but in the past few years I turned my attention towards the RX-7 and 300ZX. The RX-7 would be the more sensible choice in Ireland, as the tax rate is nearly €1,000 lower PA than the Z. When I entered the working world and started saving, I was pulled more towards the 300ZX. Not really sure why - I'd never really taken any notice of them, but I spotted a dealer …

My Zeds looking great, the only thing that lets it down is the moldings and also one of the strips on the door which is faded. They are not bad, but I want them mint like everything else. I see they are available from CZP and also the Z Centre, although expensive. Has anyone recently sourced them fron anywhere else, or even had them refurbished at all? Cheers.

Hi, I removed the undertrays a number of years ago due to the usual issue of them loosening off and dragging - drove me mad squeezing under it on the side of the motorway trying to resecure them. Anyway now I'm thinking did they actually serve an aerodynamic purpose? If so at would speed would they have an effect?? Every so often on my driveway of course the car will sit at 120/130 and feels pretty planted. Or do they act purely to stop dirt/debris covering the underside of the engine? I'm curious about this and wonder how many of you guys run without the undertrays? Cheers Thomas

Hello! Anyone that know how to replace broken studs, for rear outboard exhaust hanger brackets? I guess they are welded and will need to be drilled out, but appreciate comments? Two round flat headed studs, seated both sides of trunk.
