  1. They are easy to change and you can even do it by just removing the top piece of dash that covers the instruments. They are mounted in small plastic twist in fittings which you can reach down the back and take out.
  2. If you sell your Z with the faults on it how much are you going to get for it? Not much? How much did it cost you to buy and to mod up? So how much have you already lost on it? Probably lots. If you buy the Supra you are going to lose exactly the same again and I bet you will still end up modding it. I bet the insurance will be more too. And worse of all - it will LOOK like a Supra! :D I've mailed you some pics.
  3. Seriously though this is one REALLY nice Z and one of the best I've seen.
  4. The bulbs are capless ones, standard and available from Halfords etc.
  5. The only versions that might be compatible are Pocket PC or Pocket PC 2002 but they are all customised by the manufacturer for specific branded devices. You can upgrade the Compaq iPAQ from Pocket PC to Pocket PC 2002 but not sure if upgrades are available from other manufacturers.
  6. I was in exactly the same situation and decided to just spend on the Z. I had just about payed off the loan to buy the car and decided I would normally have sold it, lost loads of money and had to get another loan to buy something that didn't look 100% clean and probably had all the same faults I have just spent 2.5 yrs sorting out. Now it looks like new and will handle better with all new suspension (probably better than another 5 year old car or whatever) It also looks unique and far more expensive than it is. My Z will be ready at PPS in the next 2 weeks (hopefully this weekend but it always seems to get put back for one reason or another!) Come and have a look at what a tatty looking Z can be transformed into by the Z hero Peter. I'm hoping to be at Grasshopper's open day too to show it off after being without it for ages.
  7. My Blitz springs and Koni adjustables are being fitted in the next day or two. I was going to set them on hard all round as it's a second car and I want it as sporty as I can get. Thing is I've been told that having the rears on hard can cause the springs to stay compressed during hard cornering and lose grip at the back end? Is this right and how have you all set yours up? I'm sure if I put the backs on medium I'll only end up wanting to try it on hard settings anyway and it's not easy to change. Chris.
  8. Full bush kit front & rear is £185 from Z Centre.
  9. Isn't that Senna's old Z? Ask him if he wants it back so he can re-join the forum?! He might find it hard selling his Skyline though :D
  10. You can try the "Dumb and Dumber" technique and wet yourself instead. It's really warm for a couple of minutes but has embarrassing side effects :D LOL
  11. Yeah Peter is a top bloke and I'm really happy with my car so far. Thanks from me too to Iain for all the help so far with getting parts and even helping me re-fit the interior to my Z. Cheers mate.
  12. PS2 is superb and there's nothing to go wrong and a great track record from Sony. Loads of great games of all styles where as the X-Box seems to only be Quake type stuff and a couple of driving games.
  13. I've never seen a female serial port!?! Maybe you have a 25way serial port and need an adapter? As Andy said you must be trying the VGA port.

The problem is always worse when the car is cold. As the fluid warms up it expands and the light goes off. I'm pretty sure you just need a bit more fluid in there.
  15. I think the bodykit, fitting and respray have cost about £4.5K Bigger wheels, spacers, tyres were another £2K Spent a lot more on other mods too. I must be mad but the car looks like new so far.
  16. If it's coming out of the ECU connector then yes.
  17. I can think of someone... :D
  18. I agree it was a really crap review - they said it was a great car but didn't show it off to it's full potential by driving around streets. It was hardly Clarkson's fault though. Who is that fat bloke anyway?
  19. Mark Help! My chip pan is on fire so I decided to put it out with a bucket of water and it's ruined the chips! (house is on fire too) Can you come round quick cos the local squadies are out on the piss instead of manning the engines... Get in the fastest of your Z's mate!

I presume all you need to do is take it to a tracking place and tell them they need to re-track it to get the steering wheel straight. There are sensors in the hub behind the steering wheel which sense how much you are turning and the HICAS works out from speed etc how much/when to turn the rear wheels. Someone has just been lazy on your car and tracked the wheels but not bothered to adjust from both sides to make the steering wheel straight. Not a problem on normal cars but still annoying!
  21. Don't forget the standard gauge is absolute kak... You might be getting 4psi for all that tells you!
  22. Recorded is tracked. Registered is the same but the item is insured too.

Check the fluid level (green pot on top of drivers side wing) After that it sounds like your steering wheel might not be on straight - if the sensors detect a "turn" that's lasting too long then it knows something is wrong and shuts the system down. Can be caused by garages not adjusting the tracking in the recommended way.
