  1. Anyone who have experience with zemulator? It kinda seems like it does the same as AEM to half the price...
  2. I am thinking of buying either aem, nistune or zemulator. What would the z people recommend and why? (I need to run 2maps. One for fuel and one for e85.) Going to have a tuningshop map the car. They recomended a ems system since i am going to run on e85 with the mods that i have done.
  3. Well. Adjusted the timming to 15 degree with a timming gun. Hooked it up to the ptu since i didn't get a signal from the coil (Not a good timming gun I gues). I still have problems. The engine is still ticking and it's not running as smooth as it should. I've noticed when I set the timming that the ticking is heavyer and less depending on the timming when I tried to get it to 15 degree btdc.... Could it be that the 15 degree is wrong. Remember reading something about using the ptu that you could get wrong readings... Anyone have a tip on the ticking problem????
  4. found out a bit more. The program I used (ztalk i think) does not tell the correct timming. It just think it's 15 degree. The timming has to be done manualy.
  5. Is the timming supposed to change during driving? Mine is 15 degree when idle. When I floor it 15 degree. But it somewhere between 20 and all the way up to 40 sometimes when driving along normaly... (that includes a bit of throttle and rpm variation. Normal driving) Is this normal?
  6. I need 3 new fuel rail seals. the car is a 1990 model and has a 300degree fuel rail with new style injectors. Can't remember what seals to order? New or old style fuel rail/plenum seal?
  7. Never mind. Of course there is air under the injector :headvswal
  8. Had to use smoke to find this but it Seems like I have a vacum leak with cylinder 5 under the injector fuel rail. It's a 300degree fuel rail. How can I have a vacum leak there?? Is it not just fuel under the rail??
  9. May be a stupid question, but is there som vacum system under the plenum gasket that could cause the leak?
  10. Seems like I got a plenum gasket leak. A lot of hissing from the rear top of engine around the gasket. Don't know what you call it but a direct translation from norwegian would be start gas. Tried spraying that where the leak might be but got no response.... shouldn't that cause a rise in rpm.
  11. Don't think it's the fuel pump. Wouldn't that cause hesitation when giving it more throttle also. Because the hesitation stops as soon as I give it more throttle and accelerate.
  12. Ok. let's start with the air/fuel gauge. It shows lean when driving along the same rpm. When give it some throttle it jumps to rich and down just as fast. Datascan shows that both 02 sensors jumps when I give it throttle. But the 02 sensors stays at the bottom when driving along and does not respond before I tap the throttle again. IS THE AIR/FUEL GAUGE SUPPOSED TO SHOW LEAN WHEN DRIVING?? though it should show optimal.. the old spark plugs were black because of overfueling. Could this have damaged the o2 sensors somehow? The car also hestitates when driving along... it responds like when you run out of gas. Fine when I push down the throttle and accelerate?, but the hesitation returns when driving along at the same rpm. I have change the PTU, spark plugs and coils. Had a major hesitation problem before changing the spark plugs. Think I might have a vacum leak somwhere around the back of the engine. It's hissing... Can provide a running datascan log file if someone wish...
  13. Can someone take a look at the picture and tell me what the black clip on the wire loom is for? Don't know if it makes any difference but the car is a LHD.

  15. Got a new chip from Z1. Same problem. Aux fan went on. Constantly red light from the ECU. Tried some old chips for 370cc. No aux fan. No constant red light. Tried an original ecu, no problems there either. that's two bad chips...:( :( :( :(
  16. got a single intake too. Have to break in the engine since it's a complete rebuild. Just as long as the chip is for 555cc then I'm fine:)
  17. SYKO - Do you have an extra chip? I haven't been able to get a hold of Ash spec. So do not know when I migh get the chip.. Would be greatly appriciated:)
  18. thanks, but I have ordered a new chip from ash spec. Ecu and chip. let's hope it's going to work this time:)
  19. Swaped to an original ecu. No aux fan went on then.
  20. OK. tried to check for code on the ecu. But didn't work. The red light on the ecu was costant red. Swaped ecu. No problem reading codes then. And the aux fan didn't go on. So faulty Z1 chip then.?
  21. Fitted it myselft. Done it before also. I'll check for codes when I get home later. Thanks
  22. The aux fan (the black one in front with the oil cooler etc) goes on as soon as I turn the key to ON position. And stays on all the time. I have got a check engine light and the hicas light.
  23. Tested the injectors now. Showed an ohm at 10,9 ohm on the injector. Is that correct?
  24. is it possible to try with an old chip from jwt (370cc)?
