Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
Rich, I see you have made quite a bit of progress since I last saw an update. Can't do much on this forum since the new rules for us non-paying members don't allow to see or even reply to threads we were previously subscribed to. Keep up the great work man  can't wait to see the end result. Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
Wow!!!...That is one heck of a find Rich. Not a fan of 19" on a Z32 but I think you may well pull it off with those. As far as offsets goes, I think you will need a spacer up front to clear the calipers and maybe the wheel well. I suspect you may have rubbing issues when turning the steering once the tire is mounted. Best you can do is a test fit and take some measurements and pics. Congrats on the find. P.S: I'll take those Veilsides off you  Rob

Buying a single turbo 300zx ADVICE NEEDED!!
Tune...Tune....Tune I will not discard the Z just because it's got a single turbo setup. We have a few guys in our group running TT NA's without issue (stock internals). Granted they are running on E85 and two on them are running without intercoolers (they are test mules at this point). My point is, if you have a capable tuner in your area familiar with either nistune, haltech or any other aftermarket EMS and you don't mind putting time, sweat and blood on cars. I will say go for it. Inspect the car and asses all damages and make a decision.

Wheel finish, Opinions Please
It will look something like this Brushed means the centre is scuffed with an abrasive material, i.e: scotchbrite and then a clear coat is applied.

Removing all externial illuminating LED lights from my Z
That's what the dimmer is for ;)

Removing all externial illuminating LED lights from my Z
Gotta disagree with you there Si. I believe you had the wrong kind of the LED's installed in you dash. Dimmer should work as normal and there has to be no black spots when the correct bulbs are installed. In my opinion the LED's update the looks of the dash and interior quite significantly. Picture below.

Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
Correct, the valves with the EG stamped are the ones you want to have in the DETT heads.

my zed is dead game over
Wow!...glad to know you are ok Dan. Sorry for the loss, I can only imagine the feeling, especially after all the effort put into to make it look and perform great. Again glad you are ok and you will be back! They all do....let us know what you end up with.

Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
Stephen, you are correct, up to an extent. As you correctly pointed out, the heads are still labeled 40P and later changed to 48P for TT models, it is the valves that need to be checked. Early models had an issue with the metal alloy nissan used to fabricate the valves. Nissan then figured out the issue and changed the alloy to make a stronger valve. Rich, check your valves while you have the heads out Here is what you are looking for If your valves look like the one on the right then your heads have what's called the "soft valves" and I would advise you to replace them with a new set of valves. Heavy duty clutch fork, pivot ball, throw out bearing are all jobs you must do while changing the clutch.
