Well, I'm pleased to say that nostrils flew through the mot...  Not so much as a smudge of pen in the advisories too!

What did you do to your zed today?
Oh the joys... I get home this morning and think to myself, I'll check when the mot is due on my two cars.. Imagine the suprise, when the mot site reads expired 26/2/17. So spent the last two hours building a makeshift fog light and its due in at 10am... I have crossed everything in the hope that the Z passes cos I know absolutely positively that the ka is doomed... The way my luck has been lately, I'm due some good luck but somethings telling me that this situation didn't happen by accident... Two cars, two mot's and both failing will be an absolute kick in the danglys right now..

What did you do to your zed today?
Hi Red, I would start by checking injector connectors and coil pack ones.. Put your finger on the top of each injector plug and press down and give a little wiggle. Coil packs are easier to get hold of, so just give them a wiggle too. If you have access to conzult, a power test will show up the cylinder that's missing. Fingers crossed it isn't an injector.. You can do a simple test with a screwdriver to check that they are working. If you take a long screwdriver, start the car and put the metal end of the screwdriver on the top of the injector cap. Place your ear on to the plastic handle of the screwdriver and you should hear a quite loud pronounced clucking as the injector opens and closes. Test each one, if you find one that has a much quieter sound, likelihood is you're hearing the ones next to it and the one you are on is dead. It's a cruse test but very effective for finding a dead injector if you don't have access to conzult.

Mine was washed and dried before the trip down there and the return home was via the jet wash.. After £8 of water and high pressure soap, the salt was deposited in to the car wash drains and then I drove the half mile home with a clean salt free car.. She's going up n down the motorway to work again this week so I have a feeling the guy that owns the jet wash is going to be rubbing his hands together by the weekend.. Daily salt removal has to be cheaper than welding though right? ..

What did you do to your zed today?
It was a good turn out, particularly when you consider it didn't stop snowing all day.. My chest thermometers were saying below freezing  I can't take the credit for the day though as I had nothing to do with organising it. Ali advertised the event well on Facebook and I have to say thanks to Chris bedzee for bringing the meeting to my attention as I wasn't aware until he asked if I was going.. It was a good day thanks to the dedication of those that were able to brave the weather and make it.. Great to see so many zeds and those that couldn't bring the zeds aswell that came anyway.. Big thanks to you all for making it a great day.. Looking forward to the season ahead and some more great events..

Well, we all had a great day at the ace Cafe meeting this morning.. Well worth the loss of sleep  Lots of chatting, met a few new faces and put some faces to the names too.. I lead the convoy from Toddington and managed to not get anyone lost or killed too.. Bedzee enjoyed it so much that he decided to turn around halfway on the journey home and go back again lol.. Anyway, another successful and enjoyable outing with the crazy zedders! Here's a few photo's..

Lol, I very much doubt that! I'm really not looking for any more power or speed, my little lady is plenty enough for me. If anything I may look to have the engine rebuilt at some point and add some strengthening mods but purely to protect the engine for the future. I'm quite happy with the performance from the engine as it was intended to be. I had the days of power and speed from the bikes I used to own and the rover v8 I spent thousands modifying. I am looking to improve the handling and to protect the body and chassis but that's about it. She looks good enough for me, goes well enough and I'd like to keep her for future generations to admire. I went through my local McDonald's on my way home from work on Monday night and was greeted at the window by a guy of about 20 years old holding my meal in its paper bag. His first words were "that car is rude" to which my response was "thanks, not bad for a car that's older than you huh?" The suprise on his face said it all.. :biggrin" The biggest suprise at his comment was the fact that he'd served a guy in an audi R8 before me and not looked twice at it lol. Such a nice feeling to see someone of the modern generation appreciating something I spent my youth dreaming of owning. N/A diff, huge turbos, nitrous and all those things don't attract me anymore, maybe I'm just getting old? But I have a smile on my face just walking to the car, a grip when I start it and a little bit of love juice is always present after planting my foot down on rare occasions... She's got all the performance I need.. Just need to put the parts in place to support the handling and she's my perfect lady..

Well I'll be damned.....!
Sorry to read this si. Unfortunately, this is my point. The people who may or may not be in control of their actions are not the victims. They may well have been victims themselves but that's no excuse for repeating the offence to someone else. It is in fact a start reason to not put someone else through the mental and physical abuse that they went through.. Wether molester or paedophile, people in society deserve to be able to live without fear of these people. I agree that the government do not do enough to try and help these people but, that said.. If we are to look at things in the way of comparison to wether you can choose, it's very easy to say these people can be helped but also its a fact that just as gay men or women do not choose to be gay, it's just who they are. This is the same for molesters and paedophiles. It's an inbuilt part of who they are, so if it's not possible to change someone who is gay (which incidentally I am not homophobic, just incase anyone is offended by what I am saying) How can anyone help someone who is a molester or a paedophile? The behaviour they display is normal in their mind and they don't see it is wrong.. Obviously, homosexuality is not wrong and thankfully is becoming accepted as it should, as it is a practice between consenting adults who are gay. Helping paedophiles is in my eyes something that is virtually impossible. Protecting the youngsters that are affected by these people is the better road in my opinion. It's a sad fact that most paedophiles who have been given "help" have gone on to reoffend over and over. I do hear more than most about these things as my wife is in the legal profession. It's sad that these things happen in the world nowdays, but I'd rather concentrate on protecting my daughter from them because trust me when I say, a bullet would seem very kind compared to what I would do to anyone that fiddled with my daughter...

What did you do to your zed today?
Well, mine has been in daily use since the day she came home with me  salt or no salt, she only park's up for snow and repairs.. Big overhaul planned this year.. Skirts and bumpers all coming off for cleaning and underseal in those awkward covered places.. Coilovers and adjustable arms all round and those nasty trims being replaced too.. There's a few more jobs on the back burner atm too but one thing at a time huh..

Well I'll be damned.....!
I agree Stephen, but in my mind if you imprison someone wrongfully for a life sentence, I don't honestly see the difference.. The small percentage of mistakes are still going to end up ruining the life of the innocent ones and those who are guilty (the high majority of people convicted) remains the same. At least if you're convicted wrongfully and then shot, you wouldn't live in a cell for 25 years and suffer.. Of course I do understand that shooting them is never a perfect answer due to the possibility of corruption and false allegations etc.. However, the law has a much better success rate nowdays. The unfortunate thing is with these types of people, is that the sentence received is usually under ten years, meaning they'll be out to mess up a whole new generation of kids.. Life should mean life..

Well I'll be damned.....!
Maybe you just didn't look angelic enough Richard? Joking aside, things like this make my skin crawl.. I don't understand why the world is full of these sick minded individuals.. I say why lock them up and cost us all a fortune to keep them when a bullet will cost about £2.50 Just as bricktop says... Feed 'em to the pigs...

Hey anyone know if we'll be hitting japfest at Donnington this year? It's moved venue and its now in july/June I think.. So will the club be interested in a stand? There's 2 night camping and evening entertainment available on one of the nights apparently so it looks to be a better event than the Silverstone event.. Any takers?

 Explosives? Are you referring to the spring mechanism? Mine is series one so if you're referring to the airbag explosives, my car only has one airbag and that'd be the driver lol. I have a feeling it is the gravity lock but wondering if it's possible to get to the gravity lock without removing the door card? I have some really long thin screwdrivers I was hoping to drop the mechanism with but don't have a clue where the gravity lock is located. Just a quick one, surely if you remove the gravity lock, the seat belt will not lock in the event of a crash?

What did you do to your zed today?
I got her to the local car wash today yo get all that nasty salt off the body. Seemingly pointless really as I had to drive home in the wet again but at least there's a lot less than before. Gotta work out what's going on with my passenger seat belt, it's fully unwound but is locking, it won't retract so I'm not sure what's going on with it.. Any ideas on a fix for this guys? It all seems to be working but it just won't retract. when you pull it out a little, it feels like the mechanism is locking up as if you've tugged at it. Any ideas on fixing would be gratefully received. If there's a schematic of the belt it would be good to see how it works.

Pmsl... That'd be a little foolish right now I agree.. The queen of sheba can turn to medusa relatively quickly.. She does have a sense of humour though and yo be fair she's older than me too so I kinda could get away with it lol

What did you do to your zed today?
Well, I found an injector today and spent the day tearing chunks out of my beautiful plenum so I could get the old injector out.. Broke my heart to take a drill to that again! However, new injector fitted and she's alive and kicking on all six again. Went to start her up after fitting the injector to find a flat battery grrr!!! After half hour on the Ctek charger, she roared back in to life a little lumpy at first but after she settled down, she is purring again.. That blue flame note humming away nicely. Thankfully, my wife and I have somehow managed to get past our problems and I'm pleased to say the flames have reignited.. So I'm afraid you're all going to have to put up with me a little longer now.. Thanks for the kind messages, it meant a lot more than you know. Think I'm gonna take the old girl out for a run tonight.. Feeling kinda blessed.. I managed to get my two favourite ladies back this week.

What did you do to your zed today?
Thanks coopd.. Anyone that knows me and my car will know I never wanted to part with it but as much as it will break my heart to let it go, I really don't have much choice at the minute. I have debts to pay and I can't even see a way forward without the debt, let alone with them. If I could live in the car, I'd keep it but unfortunately, we all know I'm not a small guy and the z ain't exactly built for space! I have to be realistic about it and the truth is that I haven't got enough money to run and upkeep this car at the best of times, let alone when I have nowhere to live. I was particularly looking forward to this year with the club aswell but unless a miracle occurs I'm in no position to keep the car and I'd rather see it being loved and cared for by someone else than watch it deteriorate and become a donor. I can't let it go for silly money, but obviously the first refusal will go to club members as I'd rather it stayed in the club. I'll be certain as to what is going to happen within the next month but at this time, I'm gutted to say that it looks like she'll be going.

What did you do to your zed today?
Hello, yes it's me.. Apologies for the lack of activity here recently but I've been extremely busy! I woke up today to a scene I wasn't expecting.... Snow! Looking like my Z will be getting a wash, a good wax and a cover over her sooner than I hoped  The horror of the Ford ka is looming ever closer.. I really need a garage.. Anyway, hope you're all good and your z's are all purring.. I should have news on the Wales trip very soon so I'll post it up in the thread. I've been trying to negotiate a deal with a hotel and a campsite for the event. Fingers crossed it may work out very well for everyone.. Well, I'm off to find a car cover now that'll protect my girl for the closer months.. So catch y'all soon..
