  1. Patryk with the red z in the photo and rolandas were both there yes, but it was just 2 of our club and my mate that were there.. Apart from about 9 extreme bhp members but they were all very ore occupied with doing their thing. I do have some photos and will post them when Ive managed to get drunk enough to not care about the engine trouble km facing yet again.. Damn car doing my melon in now
  2. OK, I'm home from jae.. Have to say that I think I'm done with jae now.. Hardly any traders there and they were dotted around everywhere rather than all in one area. The show and shine was a joke.. After not bring accepted with my own car as they were full, I can't honestly believe how they put 75% of the cars in there, they were shocking! The only shiny thing on some of them was the mirrors! The extreme stand I was on had nothing there except a small tent with seating for only half the attendees? The bbq we were expecting never happened and the weather turned absolutely terrible Friday right through to Saturday night! The final cherry on the cake was starting the car up this afternoon and finding it was running on 5 again. Injector failure.. Right now, Z life is becoming a serious drag.. Anyway, I was asked to report on this year's jae... My verdict is "abismal" The one thing that saved the whole thing being a fail was an evening spent with our own Joel which was a good laugh, some good chat and a beer or two.. Thanks for your company Joel, really glad to see you when you arrived! Unless our club are going to do jae in future, it'll be the last time I go there.
  3. Well day one of jae has been a long one.. After the preparations taking a while and only getting a few hours sleep, we arrived and got pitched up. A pot noodle, a few beers and chorizo sausages later, now settling down for some much needed Z's.. Hoping for a good day ahead.. Gnight folks
  4. That'll be me tomorrow.. Its JAE time for me! Very pleased to hear that Joel is going aswell. Anyone else from here going??
  5. Damn, I knew Andy likes a party but didn't know he was in to garage!
  6. Ahhh, Mr phutumsch... That's a rather interesting looking box you have there! 400watt 2 channel amp by any chance?
  7. The gearbox was full of fluid on the day that all picked it up from me phoenix.. It emptied half it contents down my arm when the prop shaft was released so it hadn't been stood dry. The box was definitely in good shape and that's why I'm surprised at the failure. Something else is definitely afoot and I'm sure it's ecu related. I gave Ali the ecu from my auto that the box came from so I still think it should be tested with that. If the ecu he had in it has a problem, then maybe it may sort it out
  8. I traded a couple of hours of sleep to try and get my door cards in today.. Was a complete sh#t as I was tired and have fingers like saveloys, but managed to get the passenger side in.. Tested the speakers and found I'm gonna need an amp, as the 40 watt output of the stereo isn't man enough to get much out of the 400 watt speakers..
  9. There's many autos out there still running fine, think you've just had some crappy luck. Still don't understand why a bit of crap in the lines might kill a box. Particularly a box with no problems. Is the box still working? If it is, I would suggest taking it to Lee Dent and letting him diagnose it. As for breaking a car, I'd save yourself the hassle bud unless you find a cheap manual. Ifti has a manual conversion for 600 delivered.. Turning a profit on a breaker is fairly time consuming, I still haven't finished half stripping my one!
  10. Ali, if Lee Dent doesn't think it's the box mate, I'd be inclined to listen to him. Particularly as that box came from a trusted source and I was told was running sweet until the day the engine gave up on the car it came from. I'd do some more investigating before condemning the box cause you could go to the trouble and expense of conversion, then find you still have the same problem. There's many things that could grind, one of those things being the differential, another being the prop shaft... I'd be surprised if it turns out to be the box
  11. Gotta be worth a shot? Its only a plug to pull and change, I mean you could just leave it loose on the passenger floor to test it.. If the ecu has a fault on it, it could affect the effectiveness of the box
  12. Hi guys, got some speakers here that I'm not going to use and do I'm selling them. They are the focal brand and quite an expensive high quality brand. There is a pair of 6.5" 3 way and a pair of 4" 3 way. I checked the quality on Google and they came up as £165 for 1x6.5" and 1x 4" 3 way coaxial speakers. Looking for around £150 but open to offers so try your luck..
  13. Ali, remember I gave you the ecu for that gearbox.. Maybe switch that over and see if it's your transmission ecu that's killing the boxes?
  14. On a lighter note, I got to work on my door cards and speaker pods today.. Got the passenger side almost finished.. I'm thinking that looks nice..
  15. Sorry to hear the box is having issues Ali. I'm wondering if there's another problem? Is you prop shaft Bush OK? Can't understand why two boxes would do the same? There's got to be more to it than the box going. Does anyone know of anything else that would grind? Could it be the prop bearing??
  16. Good to hear the box worked out well for you Ali. Glad you're up and running.
  17. They will be come Tuesday morning at 4am.. When I come home from work...
  18. Hmmm... I wish I could.. Lol
  19. Here's a video link for the new sound track to my z.. Not the best sound quality but it's the best I can do.. [video=youtube_share;hZm0UCVg6oI]
  20. Well... She's back...... Driving and sounding better than ever before.. Thanks to Lee Dent and Ted, my z is turning heads again and making the smile reach round my head.. Horrific journey home was made enjoyable by the distinctive burble of the sweetest V6 sound and the turbos... Omg the turbos!! Punchy, responsive and the sound that comes from the straight through pipes is amazing.. I'm skint and I forgot my wedding anniversary, so the danglys are sore but the smile is massive! Thanks Lee and of course aled for pulling out the stops yet again. And thanks Ted for your help with those sweet pipes.. Sincerely A very happy bunny
  21. Will do, got to fit them yet, when Lee has finished with the car it will have the blue flame exhausts on it that I got from Ted, but depending on how they look, I may change the boxes as I'm really wanting the flat ovals on there. I might even have them made to be changeable lol
  22. I knew this was going to happen on Saturday when I spoke to Lee whilst dropping my car off with him. He'd said he was going to surprise him by taking the stuff down that Ted had bought. Lee nearly fell over when I told him about Ted's post offering parts of his car for sale cos he was giving up.. Lees immediate reaction was, we aren't having that.. He asked why he was selling up and when I told him about Ted's gearbox troubles, he simply said, guess I'm doing a gearbox tomorrow then! Lee you're a top bloke mate and a fantastic mechanic. The sort of hero that this club should really value. A committed z enthusiast that's responsible for a lot of these guys here still being on the road. Hopefully you're fully aware that you have saved many of us over the time you've served the z's community and I'd personally and publicly like to say thank you. I'd also like people to know this. As some of you are aware, apart from my recent turbo trauma, I also suffered a serious exhaust problem, where the pipes from the cats towards the back of the car had badly rusted through along the seams. In my current financial position I was unable to afford a new exhaust and Lee not just offered, but insisted that I borrow his very expensive cat back system until I was in a position to afford to replace mine. How many mechanics would do this for someone? On his visit to Ted, Ted offered me a great exhaust system at a price I can afford and has allowed me to settle up with him when I'm in a better position! Lee has also taken the exhaust back to Shropshire to fit it for me.. Ya know, this forum and club has always been a great place full of great people and the actions of the people here sometimes leave me lost for words. I never thought there were many good people left in the world but it seems I've found a little corner of it that proves me totally wrong. Ted, Im really chuffed that you've got your project back on track and look forward to the day I see you pull up at some club events. And Lee, you're a legend mate and I can honestly say that although you're a long way from me, I would rather push the car there to get it fixed by you than take it anywhere else. Going to bed tonight with a good feeling inside and a lifted spirit.. Well done guys, the z spirit is very much alive!! Thank you Ted and top job Lee! Not forgetting the lovely Laura for the driving and putting up with Lees inability to stop playing with Z's!:hyper::dance:
  23. I know that's a mk1 gt40 Ian... They'll never fit lol
  24. Cheers Ian, stick them in the post please mate.. Isn't that a gt40 they're attached to? I recognise that rear end for some reason
  25. Found the new back boxes for my z today... They'll be here on Wednesday :gunsmilie:
