I'll be honest here and say that I really don't agree.. I went to last year's jae and to be fair I had a great weekend. Its one of those events where you have to enjoy the camping and the whole experience.. I personally loved camping, that was actually a big part of the fun. I wasn't bothered about traders as most shows you go to nowdays have nothing for the zed anyway. Pitching a tent with a mate and having some card games and a few beers, listening to some music and cooking up some food.. It's just a great gathering of like minded petrol heads and some chill out and relax time I don't think the event itself matters that much, good conversation and the crazy environment kinda makes it what it is.. If anyone else is going to go, I've already planned to be there with my mate so let me know if you're going..
  2. So out of all the members if the club, no one wants to go to jae? So do we still have a space at the event or has it been given up? I'd like to know as I've been planning on going to this.. Do we still have a pitch Craig?
  3. Well let me know when you have them sorted Andrew and I'll take them off your hands. Need to get an adapter kit for the new style connectors aswell.
  4. All the trims replaced now! Targas both done and the new door strips fitted aswell.. Now hoping the targas don't leak after the rebuild.. I can finally move the windows up and down without that nasty squeak and the glass is no longer being scratches to buggery either.. Time for a trip to Mr Dent for an oil change and a small oil leak fixing.. I'm on the lookout for some nismo 555s so if anyone has a set going spare, let me know..
  5. Spent the morning with a guy from the Facebook sites removing the wiring loom from the breaker, then finally decided to have a go at fitting the new trims I bought.. Wasn't too bad a job apart from one side being particularly stubborn about not wanting to clip in to place at the top, but brute force and ignorance prevailed.. Looking much better.. Just the targa trims to do now! Also used some tar remover on the tired old rear screen edging trim. It actually removed a lot of the grey/white and brought it back up to nearly black.. Some trim gel afterwards and it's also looking much better! Before After
  6. That's genius gee! Have you tried the extractors yet? I got to say, they are pretty damn good.
  7. Very interesting Joel, gotta say that the adapter kit does look much tidier than most I've seen. I'm kind of stuck in indecisive mode at the moment about where to go with my car. I really need to work on the handling but I'm against lowering it as I don't want to lose chassis over speed humps etc.. My area is full of them. Shame I didn't know about the nismo injectors you had cos I'd have bought them off you, as always, time is limited and my ability to get in here has become very limited due to work and family.. I'm looking for another car atm, so I can get the z off the road and begin refurbing as much as I can before it goes past the point of expensive repairs. Being a daily driver is racking up miles and wear and tear, I think it's about time I reduced the use of the old girl and gave her some down time. So things will start to happen once a decent second car is sourced. If anyone wants a little KA I know where there's a good one lol. Also If anyone has good condition targa vinyl trims (inside the targa behind the plastic handles.) let me know as mine have peeled the vinyl and I got sick of it patting the back of my head so pulled it off  So if anyone has a pair going, pm me..
  8. Injector kit looks smart Joel, what was the price of that and where can I get a set? Been looking to change mine since last year but as it hasn't coughed lately I've just been putting it off over cosmetic stuff. Don't know about going quite so high in volume, but could be worth going to the nismo 555's for a little tuning possibility later.. Thinking about maybe an engine rebuild soon too, so I'm gathering parts.. Possibly forged but not sure yet as the cost is horrific lol.
  9. Hoping to book the hotel when I return from Dublin on Sunday. Suprised to hear you're not going to be there mondo? Shame, cos it was a good laugh last year.
  10. Just a tip gee, when you replace the bolts in our undertray, use stainless steel replacements and some copperslip for future ease of removal.. Oh and good luck getting them back in
  11. 14psi will be very different to what you've had.. Mine is running at 12 currently and the difference from the stock is very noticeable. It'll bring a grin to your face that's for certain
  12. Hey guys, I'm just about to try and get round to fitting some of these new trims.. Are there any write ups on doing it? I have been told that the trims can be and inevitably will be a complete sod to do, but it has to happen before they get damaged in my pit of a workshop.. The over roof mouldings from windscreen to the start of the boot and the window rubbers along the door skin top are being changed.. Any help or information would be gratefully received! Cheers guys..
  13. Cleaning the windscreen occasionally?

  15. Had a little play with the Z today, cleaned the interior and gave it a hoover.. Gotta get the sponges out and wash her again.. Most of the day was taken up by the bike project again.. Finally finished the fuel tank off. During the week I've refurbished the rear subframe and a second hand set of rear plastics. Both now repainted. The plastics in the same red as the tank and the subframe in gold. I test fitted the rear end together and it's starting to come together nicely..
  16. Don't know if it's any help Howard but I've got a complete ABS unit here.. With all its Nipples lol
  17. Just want to check.. These cars are worth the same as Ferrari and lambos aren't they? Otherwise the £680 Bill for these bits may turn out to be steeper than hoped lol.. Looking for the loreal badge on the car somewhere.. But then we all know they're worth it huh
  18. Had a great day out with Kamil to a south east meeting.. Great food and some nice cars including some ac cobras and a few classic yanks too.. Collected a small fortune of parts too, ready to bring my old girl up a little..
  19. Hmmm, sounds like the injector plugs loose possibly red.. Had the same issue, but hopefully it isn't the same outcome.. I ended up losing injectors! Fingers crossed for you! Well apart from taking the z down to get filled up and giving her a wash down, I've been preparing for the arrival of another Z tomorrow.. Not the Z you'll be thinking of, but a 1999 kawasaki ZX6-R instead.. As much as I'd love to ride it, however, I have bought it to restore it. It's in good running order and used daily til now, but it's suffered from a lot of cosmetic surgery over the years. Guy at work was looking to sell it as a scrap bike, so I figured I'd rescue it from the scrapyard and make it a nice bike again for someone to enjoy. As can be expected it'll be stripped down to nothing before the frame is shot blasted and coated, then a full respray with some hydro work and nut and bolt rebuild.. The plastics that are there need welding and restoring aswell, but I'll have it looking mint within six months to a year hopefully ready for someone next summer.. Really looking forward to being around a bike again.. It's been two decades since I owned one!
  20. Oh Im still chopping away at it, just as you say, it requires a lot of input.. If necessary, I may just organise a camping slot and if others want to hotel it for the night, then they can arrange this themselves? I will get a list of hotels on and around the route along with planned stops etc.. I am looking in to 3 events at the moment at locations spread up and down the country. I just figured I'd respond to the enquiry so people don't think I'm doing nothing.. Details of the Welsh run are due in mid may.. So I will post and get attendance numbers etc at the time.. If attendance is lower than hoped then things can be down scaled quite easily, however up scaling can be much more difficult so I'm looking at a higher attendance rate and we can go from there..
  21. Just came across this... I guess the honest answer is this.. I have been calling around campsites and hotels for over a month trying to find places suitable for overnight stays in the regions of a planned Wales zed run and finding it near on impossible to get suitable dates with availability for people to stay on the several dates I had planned around other events. A run through the black mountain pass, snowdonia national park and the breacons is the plan but I am having absolutely no joy finding suitable accommodation for the wide variety of members and their choices of accommodation, as a lot of you won't camp, things aren't very simple in this area. I've also been trying for two months to get a price low enough for the club funds to cover a day at Drayton Manor for a large meeting and open day for the public. Unfortunately as the club funds are limited and the high costing involved from the parks events department, there has been absolutely no chance of arranging an event at Drayton Manor this far. I had considered organising a stand at japfest this year but remembering the general opinion of last year's event I have felt that it is not something people would want to attend in numbers. JAE had been considered also, but club funds and general opinion of the event from members posts give the impression of people not wishing to attend and club funding is limited again so after consideration and pricing coming forward for the equipment needed to make the event enjoyable along with the low number of attendance at previous events held there had gone against the grain for this year. As much as it would appear that the neo is not doing much, the 70+ hours of night work and having a family to look after do make trying to organise things slightly difficult, particularly as I do require some sleep and this is on the hours that most event organisation is done, ie daytime.. I don't often get time to get on the website also so posts like this aren't easy to find unless of course someone makes me aware of the post going up as they have this time. I am trying my best to sort things out, but as most of you are aware, I've had a fairly tough year with family matters and work has also required more of my time than previous as my hours have been increased dramatically the last two months. If anyone is thinking they can do a better job of this, then by all means step up to the plate and take over. I only stepped up because no one else had and regardless of what people do or don't see happening behind the scenes, I have devoted a lot of my free time in to trying to get some things off the ground for the club, unfortunately we don't have a budget that's very helpful and as I said, things aren't simple trying to organise events for an unknown quantity of people who may or may not attend at the drop of a hat. I'm very easy to contact and welcome any ideas that you have. So if you have an idea for an event that the club can realistically organise for the members, you can always feel free to contact me and make that suggestion and I will look in to the viability and discuss it with the committee. I apologise if anyone is dissapointed with the lack of large events this far. I can only do what I have time and funds to do, but remember that being a club member, it's down to you guys to have ideas put forward for events as well as me waving the magic wand and peering in to a crystal ball to predict people's attendance in order to organise.. So in a nutshell, this is what the neo had been up to.. The role is available if anyone wants to take over at anytime if you feel you can commit more to it than me.. That has always been the car and I'm all for allowing someone who can do a better job for the club to either pitch in or fill the shoes.. Suggestions as I say are welcomed and to be honest much needed as most avenues explored so far are proving extremely difficult to arrange within the limits of a small club membership and attendance record. Please feel free to add your comments.. And do remember to tag me in, as my telepathic power is not enough to find the posts I'm not made aware of that involve me or what I've been doing...
  22. Shame, but it was all a little last minute Richard lol.. Fairly sure a few of us can gather there or somewhere nearby sometime next month.. Let me know if you're up for it..
  23. Well, timed it spot on.. Had a nice roast with Kamil. Not a spot of rain til half way home.. Definitely a nice little country pub for a small Z gathering, so if anyone's interested in a meeting over the summer months, let me know and I can arrange something with the landlord.
  24. Decided I'm not spending the day with the witch, do meeting up for a spot of lunch with a fellow Z owner.. If anyone fancies joining us, we'll be at the Swan in Grove road, kimbleswick, Buckinghamshire.. HP17 Feel free to drop by if you're in the area..
