  1. my car has been overfueling since i put it back together, im talking re-dicalous mpg, (duno how to spell that lol) mine was 6.5% on the CO emmissions, (nearly double over) 2 new o2/lambdas sorted it right out :)
  2. anyone know this lol, car is off back on the road soon, id like to get it on standard boot :wack: il ask on the US site if not, last bump :)
  3. i would imagine it to be easier to connect the loom to the engine when removed, its a pain in the arse getting some of the conectors on, e.g. injectors, the idle valve, its only the blue clip that goes through the bulkhead?
  4. i dont think you can just remove the existing temp sensor & put your aftermarket in place. the standard temp sensor wiring goes to the ECU. if the temp is wrong then, itl cause the ECU to go nuts and overfuel etc etc. you have to keep the standard one where is, and put your aftermarket one with its own wiring somewhere else. usually goes in the rubber pipe from the rad, using a temp sensor adapter spliced in :)
  5. 10 years is a long time to make the same car isnt it. quite an achievment! saying that Ford made the KA for about the same :wack:
  6. ok sorry, just wanted to say that the supra has been around for ages, maybe the a competetor to the Z, but dont think it copied the Z, developed itself :)
  7. depends what your into, a lot of people are into big lavish kits, lambo lights & chrome wheels when they have a Z. (there are an awful amount of lavish kitted ones out there!) personally i prefer the stock body, maybe 99 spec in certain areas, & nice set of rims with good stance.
  8. i dont think that is correct, the Z has been around since the 60s, and the Supra has been around for quite some time aswel! not just the mark4/JZA80 vs the Z32, the supra has developed itself for about 20 years, (when they used to call it the celica supra)
  9. i like the Z, but you gotta love the 2J. have you sen the power the stock internals can handle? lets not all be biest as were on here, but i think the Supra is a better car than the Z :x:
  10. i think its the knock sensor mate, also, you are missing the pipe from the fuel dampner to the balance bar
  11. i saw the new celica in the news paper the other day, (well the concept) i wouldnt ave thaught the 'new supra' would be under the lexus brand, that just looks like a completly new model to lexus. obv its just a prototpe at the moment tho
  12. possibly not, i had a garage to do the swap as i dindt have a crane, the PS fluid WAS drained, and new stuff in (as i went from Hicas to non hicas) the cars down the garage so il have a suggestion when im down. 1 thing ive noticed is how hot the PS pot gets though? is it supost to get hot? mine was nearly boiling after about 4-5 minutes of the car being started? also there was a slight leak, but there was fluid in the system. its down the garage at the mo, so il ask them if they notice anything there, and maybe suggest that. should it maje the whining noise tho even if theres air in the system?
  13. hmm well im not sure tbh? since ive done the swap, the pump started making a whining, then the whinning stopped, but the power steering went also. there was fluid in there, must have a leak? or the pump is nackard. (theres nothing else that could be wrong really)
  14. passed on the emissions now :) il get the CO reading when im down the garage to see what te figure was. gota bit of a power steering issue preventing MOT but nearlt through :)
  15. bolts to the 2 bits underneath the headlights by the looks, heres a pic of the bumper off....
  16. yea thats the bit. when i baught the car the "failside" bumper was already off :wack: looks like im missing the whole panel yes. obv i can see the seze of it, what isit made of, heavy? im trying to think where that panel bolts onto, as i cant imagine now??
  17. it apears that i dont have this panel, apears i dont have it, or i dont know where that panel would clip onto? i cannot balance the fogs into the bumper lol. is there a name for it? or a pic to see if i could make something similar?
  18. got the new lamdas fitted, gonna fone the garage @ 3 today for the CO reading. finger crosst :)
  19. he only tested the front 4, as the back 2 are a little dificult to get at. i had removed the origonal conenctor, then tried making my own with speaker spades. which wernt good enough. but before i even did this the conenctors were so bad it wouldnt start/idle on 1 cylinder. fresh connectors sorted it all :)
  20. sounds like 1 of the coilpacks are gone. when warm they lose resistance. when cold, regain it. find which cylinder/coilpack it is, try swapping it to another cylinder. if that cylinder then doesnt fire, you know its the coilpack
  21. what are the injector connectors like, gren or clean. mine failed on this. are you getting spark?
  22. how can you test the FPR then?
  23. dont think theres much space anywhere else tbh. dont forget you are suppost to allow air to get at the amp
  24. i did an auto to manual conversion on my 200sx, and it used to make a light flash after the conversion, so i think your correct. its expecting something to be there/connected but its not :)
  25. the Z is not subject to the cat test, but your emissions still need to be under 3.5% on the CO level. if you overfuel, it puts the CO level up. the o2 sensors control the fuel/air mixture. you can unplug the pipe on the fuel dampner (on the drivers side of the engine) and that lowers the CO level, but depends how much over on the CO level you are, to find out if removing the pipe will get it down to under 3.5%
