  1. i set my TPS correct, (conzult) i set my idle about 750-800, as thats what its "suppost" to be on. however i found that was too low, as sometimes the car would cut out after being revvd to say 5000/6000 RPM, it couldnt seem to catch itself and would stall. ive got mine on 900-1000 to stop that from happening. you can adjust and listen to the engine, you can hear it struggling when its too low
  2. pour mr muscle down there? sink cleaner, thats what its for. or would it just burn through the rubber
  3. sounds a beast. what BHP are those engines? starting to like the idea of a V8
  4. done it :) man that was messy. think if i cut all the stuff off from the back, that holds the actual cluster to the car, it would have been easier to clean! did the second one in 30mins. will get pics up tomo :)
  5. found this, http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=128557 but doesn really say how to open them. by looks the front comes off, not go in from the back
  6. ive had the clear plastic to replace the orange for ages. as its pissing down, thaught id do something prodictive. i cant open them up or figure out how? ive tried opening the front/plastic, and removing all the black rubber sealer, but ive no idea what way im supost to open it up? is there a guide?
  7. i pulled the air con cylinder out the way. even tho they are hard pipes that go to it, they are flexible-ish. same with the oil cooler. its just one of the things with owning a Z, you have to remove about 2or 3 things to get at anything. remove the bumper? its not that hard
  8. sorry to bump this, what should happen if i put my multimeter on the terminals, when car off, then started? will the fact that the car has been off the road nearly a year ruin the battery? iv had to charge it 3 or 4 times to start the engine every so often. i have a battery from my escort gona put in there to do some tests on, how can i check if the battery is crap, use multimeter on a known good 1 in what way?
  9. na not much, but the cost/pain in the arse of removing the engine to change them is. not sure? EGT usually go higher up in the downpipes dont they?
  10. o2 sensors are in the bay yea. on the downpipe/turbo elbows. in regards to the cat temp sensors, ive seen them on other peoples, but where do they go after the cat and where do they plug into/whats the point?
  11. mine came on the car. looks bit smaller in real life? (PS excuse the dirtyness, car had been off road for about 2 years lol)
  12. hmm ok well i still have this problem. its been in the garage for an MOT, and they fixed the pump, so it has power steering, but its still making the whine. theres plenty of fluid in there, and ive bled it. think the garage said the pipe had a split in it, which they sorted. would i have damaged the pump itself if it ran dry of fluid? (there was some in there, but dont think it was getting to the pump through the split)
  13. R34 wheels are awsome, they sure are expensive tho? i saw some the other day, sure they were up for about 900! can i ask how much youv found them for?
  14. you dont need reverse lights for MOT, i left mine with the lights showing (even tho mine dont work as i couldnt be bothered to wire them up following the auto-manual conversion. i will admit that mine do look dull :( need to T-Cut and re-laquer think. i just used sum old tinting spray i had. should have got proper normal paint?
  15. sorry, it IS the import, not the UK that should read :slap:
  16. yokohamas are bucks. im asuming you have 17s? i have 245/45/17 on the rears, 225/45/17 on the front. mine are 9J all round :)
  17. 2 reasons for doing this, 1) its not a 300zx, its a Fairlady Z. its not the import, not UK. 2) i like the anonymous approach, so not everyone knows what it is. removed panel: masked up: (took about 20 mins, easy to do) sprayed: fitted: ive seen panel all sprayed, but thaught id leav the reverse lights showing :)
  18. Pulsar yes, Supra no. have you sen the value on them? seem to be more than GTRs at the moment. (manual Twin Turbos obviously)
  19. id sorted all my vac.boost leaks out. coudnt get the car to idle at all. turn the idle valve up, thats what its there for
  20. i did mine with the dash in, then i removed the dash after it :slap:
  21. ? obv the Supra & all GTRs are over 5k. there are obv loads and loads of cars for under 5k with plenty of power. not standard tho? i mean like an S14 standard isnt the quickest, but with stage 1 bits probably blitz the others theyv listed on there
  22. mine doesnt have the shroud, no heating issues. and lol @ saw 7. i have caught my finger in there, fortunately Nissan made it of plastic not metal :)
  23. no stock models please, modified only, and comp cover. :)
  24. ok cheers, so flux not competative no? i deal with insurance, but not non-standard risks. im nearly 25, full NCD
  25. just wondering which insurer to approach, flux and sky i have in mind, just after the names of a few other. must have mods covered, Comp cover. oh, and i do actually work in insurance, so i know all about it :D just want couple names. (PS theres no need to state your premiums, as its gona be different for everyone based on own /NCD/age/location/occupation/claims history etc etc) :)
