How much is a new tyre on these? And is there any make in particular that are recommended? It currently has yokohamas all around but a couple look a bit borderline to me. Also, I have noticed on this car there is quite a but of steering shake over 60 mph, is this likely to be wheel balancing?

i have 245/45/17 on the rears,

 

225/45/17 on the front.

 

 

mine are 9J all round :)

Prices vary widely from tyre to tyre, matter of personal preference really, popular choices are Falkens, pirelli, Toyo, Goodyear etc etc.

 

 

Steering shake could be balancing or the inside of a tyre worn can cause it as well on the fronts.

you will notice the difference massivly when the roads wet with cheaper tyres, i have the cheapest tyres going on the rear of mine, i cant fault then when its dry, grip the road and would say its difficult to get the back end out, when its wet is a diffrent matter, absolutley no grip and have to drive like a pensioner.

 

basically what im saying is if you only drive in the summer and have an alternative when its raining go cheaper if the money is an issue, if its an everyday car used all year round get some good tyres on the back or you will smash the car up.

just put two new pirellis on the back of mine.265 x 18 over £300 but boy they are shit hot.LOL

bit of a shit when i have just put the 300 up for sale.
