  4. ive got a black Z, its a import. im getting a shell, its black. need to put bumper and wing, and boot onit. did they all come in 1 colour in japan? or a few types? mine has a gold flake kind of effect when clean?
  5. cheers ant. how much did you pay for the vehicle? ive found a ford ranger with a towich, £65 in aberdare. (seems a bit much?) but its close. i think ive found a trailer place in pontyclyn, duno if has car ones tho? i have to bring the car home, then go back and drop the trailer off so it would be nice to find a place a little closer to home. how much was the trailer for the day also?
  6. im picking up a shell ASAP, but need to rent a vehicle with a towitch on (dont know if lease vehicles have towitches on??) also will need to rent the trailer then any recomendations?
  7. ive just read that guide... http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=916979 so theres only 2 things that need doing, 1) the wires for the reverse light 2) the starter bypass (in the wheel arch as you dont need reverse lights for MOT, and my last Z's light didnt work, il just miss this out (asume will not effect nothing else) the starter bypass looks easy, but why go to all the fuss of running it into the car footwell? and wiring to a clutch pedal? why not just do a switch in the arch, and leave it on all the time? that better surely?
  8. hmm, looks a little bit complicated, possible as you say tho. i did do the same sort of thing on my S13 a couple years ago. so you think its easier to remove the loom do you? rarther than cut and splice everything from the auto to manual.... how easy/hard is removing the loom? from the ECU in the footwell into the bay i asume (to the coilpacks) and then off to the fusebox isit?
  9. ive got my manual car, crash damaged, so i have all the parts. putting the engine and box, and pedals etc into a automatic shell. is there a guide on any wiring that needs doing? (if any) or anything need to look out for?

  12. thanks mate, what about the loom? can you use the NA loom? also can you go into the EFI boost thing a bit more? also if anyone else has anything to add please feel free...
  13. just thinking, if i buy a shell/running NA are there big obsticles to overcome? i know the engine and box and prop will have to go in, will the loom and ECU also? anything else i should be thinking?
  14. wow that is rare. and cheap! load of crap tho really, automatic, air suspension. supose the V8 4.5 is ok tho :)

  18. following my recent crash, the damage underneath the car is the crossmember. sourced one cheap, but what about changing it? does the engien have to come out? or can it be unbolted from underneath?
  19. ive got a 4 channel JBL amp. paid 100 quid for it new? 4 x 100w RMS (or there abouts, cant remember) 2 channels, for each 6x9, then the other 2 channels bridged for my Sub

  24. decat. its only once a year, and its only a few bolts.
  25. thanks paul, but the shell is cheap enough to buy. its the cost of swaping the engine and box, and MOT etc thats putting me off the re-shell.
