Bodykit help needed
Have to say that if Leonardo lived anywhere near civilisation, I'd be in the queue. The recommendations from here are first class. But it is too far for me to travel. So I am looking at FG in Nottingham (used by ZCentre). And I have seen the Supra mentioned by Fat Tony - astonishing. It seems as if P.P.S. (darn sarf) and the unconnected PPS (oop north) are both top-notch. Now, where's me fence......

If only you'd seen what I've seen this weekend..
If legal issues are raised, there will be no option but to moderate - no matter where the posts are.

Reliability - my 2p worth...
This is asking for trouble so my fingers are firmly crossed on this one - since Aug 1999 I have had two side-of-road breakdowns: water pump failed 2 days after buying it (warranty job) and last month, the rad cap let all the coolant dump itself over the road (thanks RAC man). Yes, there have been other problems (clutch, clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder blah blah) but these were all spotted and cured by regular maintenance to Nissan schedule. And I'm just coming up to the big belt change malarkey with some other preventative stuff. But actually, nothing that I wouldn't have expected from a 13 year old car. Probably miles and a large fortune cheaper than any other car with its performance (13 year old Ferrari, anyone? Service bills on an NSX?). And not a lot of difference between this and, say, a 13 year old Sierra or Carlton or whatever. (And it's cheaper to run than my mate's M3 which has needed two engine rebuilds in 3 years since new hehehe). I have no worries about this being my only car and daily driver. But it is basically stock. IMHO the more radically you tweak your motor and the harder you drive it, the less reliable it gets and the more risk you take. FWIW - :D - Gio

ZX width
D'oh - moderator hit by RTFP blindness! ;) oops sorry, Nelson. The book doesn't give separate dimensions for NA vs TT except for rear track: 1534mm NA, 1554mm Turbo. So my guess is that there isn't a difference between body dimensions for NA and TT - just SWB vs 2+2.

ZX width
No. That's what the man said, already.

Which manual are you using? The two on-line manuals (links given earlier) do NOT show a connection with HICAS. That's the circuit diagram which I posted above (page RA-27). The wiring diag on RA-27 only shows connections to shocks, shock control unit, ignition switch brake lamp and parking brake switch. - Gio

Virus - watch out for Sobig-C or any e-mail saying it comes from Bill Gates
Just spotted this one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/2956646.stm Aunty says always keep your virus software bang up to date, use a firewall and always wear clean underwear! Cheers - Gio

Wheel stud
Don't mean to take the p or anything but that's one of the best new insults I've ever heard. 1/2 a Baboon + 0.5 of a Buffoon = 1 Bafoon hahaha Thanks, jonnyz32 - Gio

Just to clarify on the credit card thing, it's under the Consumer Credit act. Trading Standards know chapter and verse as you'd expect. The point is that this also applies to work you have done as well as goods you buy. EG if your garage / bodyshop / whatever does work which is so low standard as to be a breach of contract and you have paid for this with a credit card, then you can sue them as well as the bad work company. Credit Card companies tend not to want to be bothered with this sh*t so they shout at the bad work company to get it right - which is what you wanted in the first place! Good luck - Gio

OK Willie, now you've got me confused  Here's the bottom half of the page RA-26 which I got from the (Dutch) manual link. IIRC this was only a copy of our manual which Lymon put up while our forum site was being moved / recreated. I am probably being dimmer than a very dim thing but can't see any link to HICAS? Gio

Dodgy calls, what would you do???
BT and other will do plenty to help you out. Their what to do list includes a couple of 24hr freephone numbers for people who think they may be getting such calls. http://www.bt.com/customerservices/cust_details.jsp?parentcat=cs_malicious_calls&childcat=work_together Also if you don't want to be cold-called by a bunch of tw*ts who are trying to sell you mortgages, double glazing or whatever you can be taken off their list here http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tpsr/html/default.asp Me - I like the "where dod you get this number from, it's ex-directory" which soon gets rid of them or the above mentioned - "oh, hang on a minute" and then leave the phone off the hook so their bill just keeps going.

Narrow escape
Quite right mate - when a mate of mine got rear-ended, she had to go to the Dr for suspected whiplash. Luckily she had that legal insurance in her car insurance (if you see what I mean) and so ended up with about £8k.....

Mark, as Stuart said, did you pay for any of this by credit card? If you did, the credit card (not, sadly, debit or charge) people are jointly liable...

Do you remember seeing a couple of these out there in the river? I did wave but I guess you wouldn't have seen me! :D

Is my water pump on it's last legs? (long story.. ;)
Eric, when my pump went it was unmistakable - all the (green) coolant piddled out all down the road , car park etc. Received wisdom is that the water pump should be replaced at the same time as timing belts. (eg when I bought mine, had the timing belt done and three days later the water pump went blooie). Is your leak green coolant or clear water (if you don't mind me getting personal :D )? Cheers - Gio

Oh Dear!
Well, according to one source, the following countries all accept more refugees than the UK: Pakistan, Iran, Germany, Tanzania, US, FRY, DR Congo, Sudan, China, Zambia, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Uganda, Guinea, India, Algeria, Ethiopia, and the Netherlands. http://www.irr.org.uk/statistics/refugees.html Now, I don't know this source so it may be biased and it is true that the UK does a good job and takes more than, say France, Canada and Sweden.

Oh Dear!
eeerrrh, according to the journo quoted by the bbc I think the guy is a f*ckwit for doing what he's doing - and probably completely and certifiably off his rocker. But it would seem he has reasonable cause for being a bit iffy about going back to that renowned centre of liberalism, Tehran.

Hassle!
I was in Southend yesterday and it looks as if you guys have called in some close air support to "help" with the Gatso probs... (can't get these pics to come up automatically because (in the edit screen) IMG code is set to OFF. Don't know why? Mike?) hehe :D - Gio
