Pics of 99 Japanese Front Bumper?
Has anyone got a pic of this from the front or front quarter? Preferably on a silver or light coloured Z? With UK legal numberplate? Or a link to one. Thanks - Gio

Any bodyshop comments on FG or Dosthill or??
Hallo all - I have had a couple of good recommendations about bodyshops. Dosthill Bodyshop in Tamworth which does a lot of work for Zedworld's customers. Also FG Accident Repair in Nottingham which does a lot for Z Centre's customers. PPS has an awesome rep but is too bloody far so please don't suggest it! I can't afford the time to flatbed it up there and fly back (plus that's not cheap). I need someone who has a knowledge of Zeds and can do accident repair not just respray. The above two are the closest I have found to Heathrow. This is only a request for info not a firestarter - so please feel free to pm/e-mail instead of posting. TIA - Gio PS reason why is here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22645

Why do you need RAID - if you don't mind me asking. I had sooooo much trouble with my onboard RAID that 2 motherboards later I jumped up and down on its grave singing glory hallelujah. Cheers - Gio

Ah - nice one. Looking after the engine is damn fine idea. Is it import or UK? If it is import, you can add an oil cooler for the autobox which will improve things. Having a look through http://www.300zx.org.uk should bring up some tips. Better gauges help you see what is happening under the bonnet. Cheers - Gio

Still having PC problems :(
Probably grandma/eggs but have youtried with default BIOS settings? Ie the least extreme? I see you've reduced it to the simplest h/w configuration - have you got the latest BIOS / drivers for the motherboard / remaining h/w? Is the memory correct type? If you've been through these basics then it does sound like a motherboard problem to me. :( Unlucky, mate. HTH - Gio

Why? No, really, serious question. If you want to change it, first you have to decide what is wrong with it. Otherwise how will you know what to change?

Aaaaagh
1) If it sounds like a PITA, it probably is. 2) see this article http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/natott.html 3) If you want an NA, buy an NA - if you want a TT, buy a TT If you have an NA you're better off than 99.99999% of other cars owners and 100% of Supra owners. If you really want a good TT, use your NA as a daily driver, look after it well, don't throw fibreglass and strange things at it while you look for the TT that suits you. Then you'll find it easier to sell more quickly. HTH - Gio

Desperate for IT help: MS FrontPage 98
Are you sure your ISP/webhost supports FrontPage? If you're not certain, ask them.

help! Lost outlook express
Sounds nasty, mate. Something serious - maybe even a virus. Check http://www.symantec.com or http://www.grisoft.com If your e-mails are still on your ISP's server (i.e. you haven't downloaded them) you can go to http://www.mailstart.com and give it your e-mail username and password. It will log on to your e-mail provider and you can see your e-mails. Also send replies. It rurns your ISP mail into a web-mail type thing so you can access it from any computer just with a browser. WTF is Nissan all about
They're not all bad. My dealer did a complete Consult on the aircon, temperature check and whatnot and refused to charge. But if you want parts, then go to MJP or anyone else on our Traders Forum or the US - Nissan GB parts prices are a joke.

Potential Insurance Deal for Club Members, We Need your Help!
Mark - yes you're right. If they're going to give greys the same cover as UK, that's great. I have no idea about this broker / insurer thing - it was just something they made a big fuss about for a reason I don't understand. It seemed to be an excuse for being slow. My accident was Wednesday a week ago (10 days) and they still haven't got the other bloke's insurance, or an admission of liability or approved an estimate. Dave - are you saying that your policy schedule and policy booklet do NOT have the grey import exclusions that mine has? If so, I shall have to look into this further... Cheers - Gio

Dave - the exclusions weren't in the policy booklet. They were on the Policy Schedule on the third page after all the policy endorsements and excesses lists in a section headed "Priority Repairers" (clearly on display in a dark cellar in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying Beware of the Leopard. ) As far as this broker thing is, I am still baffled. I would have thought Lifesure/Insurance Factory were the brokers, AON were the insurers but what do I know? The Aon policy booklet says (on p15 Policy Definitions) and (on p1 Welcome to Royal & SunAlliance Insurance) which seems pretty clear to me. Why they are claiming they aren't is what is baffling me! :)

AndyP - why not pm Topless your policy number? That way his bloke can get the details he needs but we don't have to post anyhing in public (or send docs). Mark - two basic points, I guess. If we have mainly grey imports, the "better" overall gain would be to get the same benefit level as UK. So now is (as you say) a good time to address it which is why I raised it :) They gave the excuse - as did some of the bodyshops - that they won't give these benefits to grey imports because you can't get the parts except from Japan and that takes 2 to 3 months. This was while I was holding in my hand a parts list from MJP which gave every part except 2 as next day UK stock (and 1 from Amsterdam 1 wk and 1 from Japan 3 wks). But even though their excuse is bull, you still can't get the benefits. So I have to hire a car for 3 weeks which isn't covered by their insurance. Not cheap. As for the insurers / not insurers question - I just don't know the answer to that. They only just started telling me they weren't insurers, just brokers about an hour ago. They and Lifesure were notified about my accident last week on Thursday. They still haven't got the insurance details from the other party. I asked why not and they said we've only just sent the file to the insurers. I said but you're the insurer and they said no we're not, we're just the brokers. Given that the Policy Booklet is titled "Aon Classic Collectors Everyday Car Policy" and the inside cover starts off with a Customer service pledge of "We are Royal & Sun Alliance's Aon Classic Car Team" I am now very suspicious about what they are claiming to me. And why they are making such a fuss about not being an insurer is baffling. If I can find out more, I will let you know. There is also a difference of opinion between what Lifesure (the brokers who got me the policy) and Aon are saying on another matter. This bull factor makes me suspicious and cynical - someone is either lying or being economical with the truth and I can't work out why. What's the catch? Don't get me wrong - if you've managed to get someone from Aon interested in doing a deal, full kudos and go for it. Especially if they stop discriminating against greys. The price on the policy was very good and I shall certainly be getting Lifesure / AON to re-quote on renewal. Cheers - Gio

Hi Mark, You might ask the AON chappy about the exclusion on their policy which says "please note that the section in the policy booklet on page 5 relating to priority repairs, own repair shops and loan cars does not apply to any grey imports." So grey imports don't get access to the approved network, you don't get immediate authority to start repairs, it isn't collected and returned and you don't get a loan car. Of course, you only find this out after they have sent you the policy documents. Given the number of grey imports in the Club...... Also, AON swear blind they are not insurers, just brokers. At least that 's what the people who answer the phone say. Cheers - Gio

More Benefits for Members
£0.02-worth: last week the RAC were completely cr*p and took 4 hours to get me home (about 8 miles). It would have been quicker for me to get a taxi home, look up a recovery company and book it. Instead, I waited at the side of the road - and waited and waited and waited. I was passed by 2 AA vans! The RAC refused to send a patrol (who could have helped me tape up the bodywork and get home) and insisted on arranging for a central London contractor to come out to Windsor to do a recover of 8 miles. Gits. So I will deffo be looking at new cover come renewal time. Cheers - Gio PS haven't voted as there isn't one for yes I'm interested in a club scheme whoever it is with!
