Pascal and the Peripherique?
Hi Mike tried the above with ...Rendezvous.mpg and got 404'ed

How much?
Before you decide, take a good hard look at the amount of tax you pay for having a company car. The vast majority of people are much, much better off running their own car. Company cars are taxed to the hilt and then some. Cheers - Gio

Fuel Gauge Warning Light
hehehe there's nostalgia for you. :p

Fuel Gauge Warning Light
Yes that's what I thought - however, if you take a gander at EL-68 you can see that the float uses a different pair of wires to the warning lamp. The float drives a potentiometer of some sort and the warning lamp sensor is a simple on/off. Same assembly, different wotsits.

Pascal and the Peripherique?
Howdly doodly - while getting p*ssed at a mate's over the weekend, conversation got round to looney videos. Two in particular: the Rendezvous (Ferrari through Paris) by Claud Lelouch and Pascal round the Peripherique - one Frog and his Gixer round Paris in 11 minutes. I have searched and searched but can't find either of these. There were even a few links given here some time ago but none of those work anymore. Has anyone got an up-to-date link to either? Thanks - Gio

Fuel Gauge Warning Light
My fuel warning light is misbehaving - it comes on even when the tank is full. And then it goes off. And then it comes on again. This week, it is mostly staying on. From the manual (pages FE-3, EL68), it seems the warning light sensor is in the same assembly as the Fuel pump and gauge assembly. Looks like a dodgy connection somewhere. Hopefully. Has anyone else had this and what did you do about it? Thanks - Gio

Bulb test - J-spec OEM vs 85w vs PIAA
Hi Richard on inspection, the reason for passenger side being dimmer is the headlight has got condensation and looks dirtier on the inside! Seems it needs headlights taking out, splitting, cleaning and reassembling....... Probably NOT before going to France on Friday! :D Also J-spec dip beams take a different bulb to UK spec unless you do a small mod. (J-spec = H3C, UK spec = H3). There are a lot more choices (like the Osrams you mention) for H3 than for H3C. I have only ever found the 2 PIAA fits and Leigh's US 85w imports. Cheers - Gio

Winter and oil
Well there you go - I just spoke to Castrol a cople of days ago to clear up a confusion. The techy bloke said: 1) The API grade of oil denotes its overall quality. Nissan only specify a SG grade for our Z and modern oils are up to SL (S means petrol and the next letter - started at A and increases by one letter every time there's a spec upgrade - we are now at SL which is several grades up from SG). 2) Magnetec is a semi-synthetic and from the tech data he had, 10w40 is good for Zeds. 3) You will get better protection by using a full synthetic. Castrol's is RS and he would use 0W40 for Zeds. 4) The Japanese car manufacturers tend to be conservative and cautious on their oil specs so if you use what they say, you should be fine. 5) Also J manufacturers will design their engines according to the quality of lubricants already on the market. Some Euro manufacturers will design an engine which needs a very high performance oil and then go to the lubricant manufacturers to get them to make a better oil. HTH - Gio

Bulb test - J-spec OEM vs 85w vs PIAA
Hi y'all Since we're about to take my freshly-repaired Zed to La Belle France for a week of looning about, I thought it might be nice to be able to see where we were going in the dark. I've tried 85w bulbs before (£23 per pair from the US) but got seduced by the claims about PIAA Superwhite. http://www.piaa.co.uk So I tried a pair. Write up on 55w OEM vs 85w US vs 55w PIAA Being J-spec and needing H3C (unless I solder stuff or fiddle with the loom) the choices are limited. But gee - it's got bright out there (Well, for more than £20 per bulb, it bloody well should be!)

Shall we merge the for sale and wanted section?

mud flaps
still the dangly down ones rather than the ones which are moulded to the shape of the car like in the pics earlier in this thread.
-
mud flaps
Nice try, mtl, but those are the dangly down flappy ones which you could get here in the UK. No-one I know has yet been able to source the JDM moulded ones like in the pics except for taking them off JDM imports. Mr.F reports that the front wing for a car with moulded flaps (oo-er fnarr) has a different part number than a normal wing. What does this mean? NFI :D

Lambo doors anyone
Thanks to the new Gallardo, we've all got Lambo doors already! http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=19&article_id=6996

Royal Oak Meet Pictures 2 (56K Warning)
Yes mate - as far as we can work out, first time at any club or forum meet. Doesn't that red 280ZX look the dogs as well - in fact, all the Z/ZXs looked dynamite.
-
mud flaps
They are JDM and almost impossible to find new - I haven't been able to find a part number even from great Z gurus. I got mine s/h at (IIRC) £40
