L *** NGS UK 300ZX TTAuto
Greetings Pop-pickers, I know this isn't a recent sighting but I am interested in the history of a UK Blue Auto TT with this reg. I know where it's been recently and I even know where it is right now! But if anyone knows history of it before this year, I'd be quite interested. Not 'arf. :D

Lifesure insurance customers (i.e. you oldies)
Insurance renewal plopped on the mat a few days ago. With Lifesure (broker) policy through AON (underwritten by Royal Sun Alliance) £567. Call AON directly, they can't poach Lifesure business but if you email them on classiccarsdudley@aon.co.uk to request a quote, they're allowed to talk to you = £504 for exactly the same policy Call Lifesure back - they have to go away and think about it. Got the call just now, Lifesure using Highway = £502. Job done - ta. Moral: always get more than one insurance quote every time you're coming up to renewal.

Cars Needed for Computer Game
Only if it's mine! Officially, UK had Twin Turbo and NO Fairlady Z. Conversely, JDM had Fairlady Z on the right and nothing on the left.

Van insurance?
Just as well this forum is never visited by scallies looking for easy jobs or people working for insurance companies then. Please please remember that posts on forums are public and you should never say on a forum what you wouldn't say in an advert readable by every internet user worldwide.

knock sensor
A) you're absolutely right: bypassing the knock sensor = expensive noises so should only ever be done for diagnosis or temp bodge to get you by if you know what you're doing (and don't drive like a prat :D ) B) you're absolutely right, engine removal is not necessary for knock sensor replacement. I know Ryan / ZTech knows how to and I am sure there are others. I was sworn to secrecy over "the trick" by a bloody cowboy who conned me so here it is: dropping the gearbox allows you to tilt the engine forward just enough to unbolt the EGR valve on the back of the engine which is necessary to remove the gubbins and plenum on top of the engine so you can get to the knock sensor which is in the middle of the V. But be bloody sure to put all the right bolts back and tighten them up unlike the bloody cowboy did to mine as spotted and fixed by ZTech. I am not an engineer so please get this checked by proper techies. HTH - Gio
