  1. Best advice on BOVs is here http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/bov.html
  2. Sorry, duffman, have to disagree with you there. Here's a few quotes from the 300ZX Enthusiast's Companion: And, of course, in Japan, every 240Z, 260Z, 280ZX, 300ZX, 300ZX, 350Z and the innumerable domestic variants were all called Fairlady Z. As it says on the back of the 300ZX and on the front And here's a Nissan poster It's not just a matter of 2+2 = ZX and 2 seater = Z. There was a 2+2 version of the 260Z and both 2+2 & 2str for 280ZX, Z31 and Z32 Every Z car whether 240, 260, 280, 300 or 350 has been a true Z-car. Designed by the Z-car programme and built in the Z-car factory (dunno about the 350Z, tho') Nissan Shatai in Hiratsuka City near Yokohama. So don't worry 300ZX fans, our Z is a true, official Z!

Yes indeedy - in between getting it fixed, it's still the daily driver. Welcome back
  4. In addition to the above, check your wheel nuts http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=86583http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=86583 and the final cure for me was a pair of rear shocks which fixed it completely.
  5. You're right but do we know if he has got a VG30 engine? His avatar implies he's got a Z31 not a Z32
  6. If you look here http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm (and no, I don't know where the missing pics have gone) other models like Series IV ('94/10 - '97/ 1) also had Optional ABS
  7. That's interesting - the maths about the relationship between sidewall and profile is a) logical and b) new to me. Everyday something new (ta)! Does the JDM sticker give the same pressures as the Euro/UK? Dunlop "Tyre Doctor" hasn't got back to me yet so I can't report back what he says yet. Thanks and cheers - Gio
  8. hahaha thanks very much. That proves you're not Gates-trained ;) If the torch did its job, that implies that both JDM and UK (Euro) should have 2.3 front / 2.5 rear. Which is interesting given that the JDM rears are not just a different width but also a different profile to UK (Euro). Should you use the same pressure for two different widths/profiles? Is 2.5 bar (36 psi) rear right for both 225/50 7.5" JDM and 245/45 8.5" UK? Is there a tyre guru out there who knows? Nissan once told me 33/33 and on another occasion 33/36 but they were as confused as I am about JDM vs UK. Cheers - Gio

hehe hallo fat bald broke slough bloke from fat broke not-quite-so-bald not-quite-in-Slough bloke :D . Welcome back - and now FFS run before you get sucked in again
  10. Thanks - I got a pic of a Euro 2+2 version from a nice man in Denmark What I am after is the equivalent for a JDM 2+2 TT. Since they've got different size wheels, the rear pressures are not necessarily the same. (They might be but no-one knows - not Nissan UK, Falken, Goodyear, Dunlop, Micheldever so far.) The Owner's handbook refers to the sticker and the Workshop Manual doesn't say - so I am trying to find the sticker! (BTW, bigmincey & AndyP, thanks for today's Microsoft moment :D technically accurate, answers the punter's question but of no actual real use hehehe  :p )
  11. Hiya - seeing another Z on the road always brings a smile to my face. Especially a silver one! See you at a meet sometime. Cheers :D
  12. Does anyone with a JDM 2+2 TT still have the tyre pressure sticker in their car (either arm rest or driver pillar)? I'd be grateful for the pressures or a pic. TIA - Gio
  13. If you've got a Z31 like in your avatar, then you'll find more Z31-specific advice on http://www.zclub.net

  15. while another silver Z was heading west just before 8am this morning. Hello!
  16. Clay shooting is a good sport - we even win Olympic medals at it! Even though I don't like guns being pointed at living things, I've shot a few clays over the years and all the clubs/people I know are highly responsible sports people not rabid rednecks with a gun-habit. Now take a look at this and I defy anyone without a heart of stone not to go "aaaah" :D http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6309159.stm
  17. http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/headlight_removal/headlight_removal.htm B*gger - the link to airbox removal is fubared. Let me have a searchy for a while... this might help http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/pop/pop.html aha - here's the oz one http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/pod/pod.htm Let us know how you get on - you're doing exactly what I want to do when it gets a little warmer ;)
  18. konnichiwa, Matane-san, welcome.
  19. And here's the circuit diag for the soft/firm switch which - as the brighter ones amongst us will have noticed - has no actuation from anywhere except the handbrake switch / warning light. Huh? Does anyone anywhere have any reference at all to this feature? Why is it there? Is it mentioned in any manual? It seems really weird to go to all this trouble and then not mention it.... BTW not even Lymon knows why it's there or if there is any other speed-related way of activating the firm setting. Very odd...
  20. Nope - they are just normal shocks. JDM, Australia = no adjust, UK, Europe = rear shocks soft/firm, US all 4 shocks adjustable. Europe specs here
  21. fnark fnark

If the knock sensor is inop and it is covered, then they should do it Nissan's way: take the bloody plenum off and fix it by the Nissan book. They are supposed to be a Nissan garage...
  24. Do an Advanced Riding course. The best bike riders (on real roads in real traffic) are Hendon boys/girls and the Instructor versions are the best people to help you stay alive on the roads bar none. (And faster - and on 4 wheels as well as 2).
  25. Bloody Eastenders causing trouble again :duffer: :wack: :smash: :D
