  1. And only the best people get this birthday :D Cheers all - since it's the anniversary of D-Day, a few :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: of Shep's Spitfire seems only fitting don't you think? Off to the Perseverance we jolly.... :D
  2. I really must finish this page http://www.300zxtt.co.uk/propvibes.htm one of these days about propshaft vibes. The short version is: - gearbox mount - centre bearing - ujs - the CV that connects to the diff. Warning: the CV is different for NA / TT and auto/man so you have to get the right propshaft. DON'T do what I did and order a TT propshaft from the US to save money as they only have the SWB TT in the US and for some reason it won't fit the 2+2 :nelson: Oh looky, and here's the pic with a link to reco prop who can both replace the CV AND lengthen propshafts to the right length. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=451542&postcount=4 SInce then, no propshaft vibes for me :D
  3. :nana2: :duffer: :duffer:
  4. Nice example - that'll be a UK TT 2+2, then. Welcome :D
  5. Bring it round to me and all I can do is suck through me teeth and go "who sold you this, then?" - no engineering ability at all! PS Although if you CAN bring it to my stated location, I'll buy you a beer. "I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."
  6. Here you go http://www.ztech.co.uk - their website has been up and down like a whore's drawers as it's being updated. But they've put the old one back for now. Just spoke to him on the blower. Cheers - Gio
  7. Not really - if it's done properly. ZTech have been about for a few years & I've had a lot of stuff done there: clutch, clutch booster, heater matrix, ps pump, HICAS etc. I have used a Nissan dealer for normal servicing and until recently they were very good (but main dealer pricing = ouch). Check out the Traders' forum here and also there are some pics of cambelt work here http://www.zedworld.co.uk/wizzf.html
  8. Thanks indian_zx - us West London guys have to stick together! I'll be at Silverstone tomorrow (Zed God permitting) so any info - or if anyone wants to sell me their NA.... Fingers crossed for a fun day tomorrow.
  9. Lots of differences as you can see here http://www.300zx.org.uk/mod_comp_0.htm And even the Japanese cars varied from year to year. So it really depends on which parts you want, which car you want parts for and if you can find a similar one to break.
  10. PS: AFOAF claims to have cossetted an original 1600E for years and so, when selling it on felt the mileage didn't truly reflect the actual value as it was in tiptop condition. So he got the speedo out for a spot of reverse action with the Black and Decker only to find a sticker on the back which had scrawled on it
  11. http://www.angelfire.com/geek/vg30dett/Cluster/Fix_Cluster.htm This is how to strip, lube and reassemble (fnar skronk).
  12. I'd be interested to know if anyone here owned or knows anything about these Z32 NAs: J *** LTP Red Manual SWB, West Country H ** BAU Grey Auto 2+2, Midlands K * PFM Silver Manual SWB, South of London K ** AFR Blue Auto 2+2, Liverpool (MOT certs signed by Michael Owen ) reg plate says "Lee's Car" (This last one used to be STU *** R) They're on my NA short list... Thanks, Gio
  13. Terribly sad news - condolences.
  14. OK that's 3 of us :D Actually, all that black one needs is to lose the big bore twin and go quad and it 'll be fine  (only kidding - it looks great)
  15. maybe but you've still got too many stored messages as of 10am! Did you get my email last night?
  16. Have you already bought the UK oil cooler? I only ask because Mr F (Trader here) does a good line in modern oil coolers which can (eventually) fit the Z. EG http://www.300zxtt.co.uk/newoilcooler.htm
  17. No that was Nelson who even got a smiley named after him :nelson: Thanks to everyone for such good comments - it seems the NA is a much loved version amongst its owners past and present...
  18. hmmm that's what Mr F said...
  19. I'm thinking about changing from TT to NA (changing cars, that is, not a conversion :D ). Most of my driving is daily commute in traffic jams so the TTs are a bit wasted. Main reason is greater practicality as a daily driver (I do about 12,000m a year). Against that is the big grin factor on the rare occasions when I do get a chance to use the loud pedal :hyper: . Not interested in mods - just good clean as-stock-as-possible. Had some good thoughts at the other place, wondered what you guys thought?
  20. Didn't notice any non-standard font on the front number plate.
  21. JDM Silver, twin exhaust around Greenford heading into town.
  22. I know it's nzr but there seem to be whole bunch of 2-wheeled bods here so maybe someone can recommend a mobile bike mechanic somewhere near Heathrow / Slough ish? My venerable GT550 has been laid up and SORNed for too long and I need to get it going again to stop cooking the Z in the Hangar Lane traffic jam. Thanks in advance - Gio :D
  23. Matthew, Chapter 20, verse 16
  24. oh well - off down the Perseverance for a few jars and 90mins of jangling nerves - cheerybye
