  1. Vijay spent a lot of time looking for this a few months ago. The problem is that there aren't enough Zs to interest insurers / brokers. OTOH The MGOC is the biggest one-make car club in the world and they run their own insurance brokerage to make money for the club. RS insurance I don't know but there are squillions of things with RS on the back. Even if you did find a broker who would give (say) a 5% discount, you'd probably find an even better price by ringing round.

  9. Tony - is that from every site you visit or just some? Try doing Zimon's trick when you get the problem and e-mail the document to me at gio@beyondsl.net Cheers - Gio
  10. Ian, if you're really a lawyer, mentioning breach of contract in that they did not use reasonable care and skill would be a bit like teaching grandma etc etc :D :D - Gio
  11. Is this a continual change (i.e. it wanders up and down) or more of a quantum one (i.e. it is in a particular position for a while and then *clunk* moves up (or down) a significant distance. Stays there for a while (which could be days and days) and then suddenly goes out of spec again. Until the *clunk* when it goes back to where it was. I only ask because mine has done this latter for years even after replacing the clutch and clutch master cylinder. Thanks - Gio
  12. About the same as between real and forged, maybe? ;) And Macca - er, I'll get back to you with a snappy comeback as soon as I've got one :D :D - Gio
  13. Nice dished crown, there, andy - should really help the squish factor! :D :D - Gio
  14. French astronomers discover, to their horror, that there is a mile-wide asteroid heading straight for Paris. Impact in just two days time. They call NASA for help - the Americans are the only ones with the technology which might possibly avert disaster (Bruce Willis!). The NASA Chief Exec says "Sorry to hear of your problem, Jacques - what's your ETA for the impact?". "1am in the morning, day after tomorrow, Washington time" replies Jacques. "OK, we'll call the President and see what we can do". Jacques here's nothing so he phones NASA the next day. "Has the President made a decision yet?", he asks. "Weeeelll", says the NASA bod "sorta - but he's still gotta problem." "What's that?" asks Jacques and the NASA CEO says "He hasn't decided whether to set the video or watch it live..." :D Gio
  15. fingers firmly crossed....... Cheers - Gio
  16. There's no bar to traders having a slot - just drop Craig an e-mail. The contribution for being in the trader's area was slightly bigger than the everyday contribution IIRC but I can't remember how much. They don't need to be "offered" - they just ask. HTH - Gio

Rob, I don't know of any auto specialists but here are the Z people I have heard of locally (ish) The guys who use http://www.euro-spec2000.co.uk/ in Ash (moved from Camberley so I am told) swear by them. The top workshop bloke at Dan Perkins Nissan may know of a local autobox specialist - James on 01753 538444 I had some minor work done by a garage in Datchet who had a Ferarri and a couple of Porkers in the queue last time I was there. Steve, Lucas Garage (01753) 520403 and lastly, Leigh used to recommend Sovereign near Reading on (01189) 402027 I doubt that any of these would actually fettle an autobox themselves but hopefully they will know a man who does. Good luck - Gio

I know Leigh was looking at this a while ago but don't recall any result. There are quite a few available US for $500 or so. Oh and Philips do a kit but their site search is so cr*p I gave up. Sorry! And I think the late JDM 300ZXs had HID anyway - so could these fit? (But probably cost $$$$$). http://www.adventon.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=24&Product_ID=12437&CATID=60 http://www.2kracing.com/300zx-lights/ HTH - Gio
  20. hehehe sorry couldn't help it :D :D . The insurance people used to wind me up by saying "we'll have to charge you loads of money because your car is a Japanese import" to which I once replied "they're all imported from Japan you f*ckwit". Don't know about targa/non-targa - pperhaps there's something on the model guides on http://www.300zx.org.uk I've had a Jap 2+2 TT since Aug 1999 and once you've found here and http://www.zclub.net and http://www.mjpauto.com you'll find running a J model is not a problem Insurance can be a PITA, though but everyone seems to solve that one sooner or later. More stuff on my crap and out-of-date website in the sig. HTH - Gio
  21. EXUP? Yamaha seem to think you can tune 4 stroke exhausts for better poer delivery throughout revrange. But I don't think it's back pressure per se - just tuning the pulses so that -ve pressure arrives at the exhaust valve just when needed to suuuck burnt gases out of the cylinder? Or am I talking test1cles (a better class of b0ll0cks :D ) Cheers - Gio
  22. Just enter car shipping america (or whatever the spanish is) in to google (or whatever your fav searchy thing is). Looks like shipping a standard size car from US is around the $500 mark plus customs duty / clearance. http://www.euro-america.net/cars_to_uk.htm http://www.autoshippers.co.uk/Autoshipping_USA.htm http://www.imorex.co.uk/car_shipping.htm But I am sure you will have equally good shippers in Spain - why not ask them? HTH - Gio
  23. There are a few guys who have imported Zs from the US (to convert to RHD) over on http://www.zclub.net so they might be worth a try. Also ask on http://www.twinturbo.net - being US based they may know more. The cost of shipping from the US can't be that bad - it was worth my mate bringing his poxy Golf back from Canada. Good luck - Gio
