  3. When he played Surrey Uni in *ahem* 1977 (ish) he and his road crew had black T-shirts with gold lettering which said in small subtle letters on the front Rory who? and on the back in big letters Rory f**king Gallagher, that's who!
  4. As you said, Craig, But needing your fifth seat is not a bad reason - good luck and best wishes to you, your other half and your soon-to-be-newbie :D I wouldn't have enjoyed my zed half as much without your forum - thanks :D . A lot :D :D . You get my vote for El Presidente for Life whether or not you actually have a Zed at the moment. Cheers - Gio

OK matey - I'll get fuelled up on the vino collapso and see what I can come up with :D lol Darren - if you stick LPG Conversion performance into Google, you get loads of links - here's the FAQs from Calor http://www.lpg-vehicles.co.uk/lpg_faq.htm Let us know how you get on. Cheers - Gio

Used to be the rocket ship of choice for many Essex gangsters. Sorry, "entrepreneurs", is of course what I meant to say. http://www.lotus-carlton.co.uk/ What a lovely car for behaving badly in! Made me grin then and still does. :D Gio
  7. Dunno, myself, Mr Smith but the parts catalogue at http://www.300zx.lv might help. Such as http://www.300zx.lv/catalog/?gr=J&sec=620 and http://www.300zx.lv/catalog/?gr=J&sec=630 Good luck - Cheers - Gio

I thought he meant "chicken shit" as in methane not as in crap. If you see what I mean :D :D But LPG isn't methane so he's wrong anyway (pedant-in-training). Yes there are performance downsides and yes you lose space because of the extra tank. And probably add extra weight so Nelson wouldn't be best pleased. Yes you keep a petrol tank and a switch so you can go from one to another - hence LPG stations being rare is not a problem. You just have to fill up with expensive smelly carcinogenic fuel. (calm down calm down only joking). I don't know where the LPG actually does evaporate (i.e. go from liquid to gaseous) so can't comment on the piston cooling effect. Buuuut from the info on this site, there is little or no problem in getting, say a 15% increase in bhp. Exhaust, induction, ECU (I believe - haven't done it myself). Then (in theory) do an LPG conversion, lose 10% and you've still got a better-than-stock clean-burn, hug-as-many-trees-as-you-like, performance car which runs on a cheap fuel. If you're an ex-hippy like me, that's not a bad idea! :D We don't all want to run Honda hybrids, you know..... ;) Cheers - Gio
  9. And hello to you too, benzx. It's no use asking me for anything mechanical as I don't know one end of a spanner from another. But there is a lot of good info (including buyer's guides) on AndyP's site. I would have guessed that you should be able to pick up a good tidy example for £6k or so - have a search on here as it's probably a good idea to look at forum cars in preference to unknown ones. Also check out the events page - for example I know a lot of the guys went to Bolney today and that's always a good way to meet / get knowledge. Good luck! - Gio

Robert, a few years ago there was a great video done by some barking mad Frog on a Gixer of some sort trying to break the record of doing the Peripherique round Paris. Strap the camera to the tank and do 180+ lane spiltting ffs. Do you know the one I mean? Maybe even a link to it? Cheers - Gio
  12. 10/10 for creative excuses hahahaha :D :D Well done matey - Gio

I just called these guys Driving Management Ltd who operate at Thruxton. They are taking bookings about 4 weeks ahead. If you book as individuals, it's £75 for a 3 hour or £125 for a 6 hour. Group Bookings for 9 people, get a discount of £10 per head (eg £65 / £115). Review from the IAM is here HTH - Gio
  14. Just one more thing - according to Courtesy, there is a different hose kit for pre 5/90 and post 5/90 cars. Also (natch) NA and TT so watch out when you're ordering. HTH - Gio
  15. Although, strangely, I can't find the same store at http://www.conceptzperformance.com as they appear to supply to http://www.300zx.lv/parts  and in case it's really mind-bogglingly obvious here's my "d'oh" in advance :D Cheers - Gio
  16. andyduff / AndyP- I was looking for the part numbers for the Blow-By hoses and found a couple which were slightly different: 11823-40P11 11823-40P01 Are these the ones that andyduff listed or are they a typo? By the way, I found a site http://www.conceptzperformance.com which appears to be cheaper than Courtesy. I have no experience with either, just thought I'd mention it for interest. Cheers - Gio

First get a full laser alignment done at a proper tyre place. Then have a look at http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18370 Haven't cured mine yet as I haven't worked out whether it's bushes or springs or both or something else (ask 2 forum members a question and you'll get 3 opinions and 1 fight lol :D ) Good luck - Gio

Again, amble over to my not-updated-yet site and click on the links under How Many UK Zeds. The only way to get this correct is to give the SMMT £450 and I don't have that kind of dosh lying around spare! Cheers - Gio

If you take a look at my website, down the side you will see Silver Indicators which shows before and after. That's for the sides and the fronts. It's not a question of being "upset", it just a matter of taste as to whether or not you like the look. My car is silver (the best AND the fastest colour) so I quite like the clear non-orange look. When I win the pools / lotto / premium bond, I'm going to try this. The only bloke I know who did this did it to his Cherokee Jeep so not exactly a good comparison. He says it makes his car about 10% down on power but the fuel is half the price so he doesn't give a ****. Just think what you could do with the standard exhaust / induction / chip upgrade twinned with the LPG. Yes you'd end up with no boot but could probably still do 280 or so hp, look cool, drive fast and hug trees! If anyone really is going to do this, keep the records - you'd probably get interest from club mags or possibly even mainstream ones. Cheers - Gio
