  1. Actually, the viper spoiler is one of the only after market spoilers I like. There's another chap on here with a grey one...apache?? Can't think at the moment, anyway, he was one, so does SufolkZx I think. Both look good on those. I don't mind the LED 6 pots actually. Not something I'd have, but look nice on yours and on MarkZXs.
  2. Yeah, that's the spoiler that was mentioned. I like the smooth tailgate, but the more I look at it, the more I think it needs something and the 99-spec rear spoiler is very much inkeeping with the lines of the car, especially from looking at it from the back end.
  3. What I am doing now Graham is the last of the external modifications, apart from, of course the suspension upgrades which will change the stance of the car very slightly. I've done all I've wanted to as I find the Z naturally has a nice sleak shape and doesn't need big ugly bumpers and huge wings and aftermarket lights etc, Skylines can wear that sort of stuff due to the aggressive lines on the car. I've not done a huge amount to it, what I wanted to do is just bring it slightly more up to date using OE type parts and in the process try and make it as clean and as tidy as I possibly can. :)
  4. I'm still worried, but have seen a few pearl whites Zeds that have had work done on them, not by this chap, but generally and they seem to be un-noticable in match and look great. I think if you don't know how to spray with them, then they can look terrible.
  5. PCV valves.....acronym for Positive crankcase ventilation valves. If these clog up, which invariably they do, they create breathing issues and often make a seemingly healthy car appear somewhat shagged. IE, smoking and rough idling. They are cheap to replace and the symptoms which are often misdiagnosed will often clear themselves up after a few hundred miles after replacement.
  6. If you're not bothered about what drivetrain you have, then I'd go for the best condition one you can. Personally, I'd never go for the auto. They are cheaper to buy generally, but do cost lots when the go wrong. That's not the reason I bought my manual. I just wanted the feeling of a true sports car.
  7. Or mine...even with a 99-spec carbon spoiler...
  8. PAS fluid wouldn't cause an alternator to die would it? It's a lube and would probably do it a bit of good... LOL
  9. Sounds like your alternator is on the blink or you've got bad earthing.
  10. No thanks. ;) Don't want to do things by halves. Want to try and get an exact colour match too on the stripe. I'm very picky about detail. :) The chap who's spraying it has a lot of experience in painting with pearls, so quite confident he'll get a good finish and match.
  11. Something I'd like to fit when I upgrade all my suspension over the winter. You can get shims though and if I'm only lowering by 40mm, they might be all I'll need? I'm gonna be kind of doing it for the looks more than the handling. Having the rims pushed as far out into the arch gives a much more aggressive stance.
  12. I like the pin stripe. Breaks the car up. I've seen them without the stripe and it doesn't look good on the pearl white ones. I still want to retain that originality about it, even though I'm changing the look of the bumpers ever so slightly.
  13. ....but only for a week though, but I'm dreading it. Like to know it's close by and stuff. It's going into the bodyshop to have the rear bumper lower half of front bumper, tailgate and rear spoiler painted. So, taking off the rims tonight and putting on some JDM wheels... :wack: I'm going to prep the rear bumper and the lower half of the front bumper. Be interesting to see how quickly this rock guard effect comes off with a small rotary sander. I've hired one out for £10 for the weekend. Quite looking forward to getting the bumpers lovely and smooth. I've done a fair amount of bodywork over the time, and it's only light prep work, so confident it'll look good and be nice for the painter to work with. Just need to find a sign makers locally to make me up some exact copy pin stripe now. Will get some photos up tomorrow of my progress with the smoothing.
  14. $500 in Iran? Christ...rip off anyone? ;)
  15. You ought to try and get some US spec seatbelts Dave. Really wierd they are, they have 2 recoil mechs per door. One at the bottom where on the JDMs they are hard fixed and the other half way up the door where the normal single recoil mechs are.
  16. I feed them alloy wheels and UK spec window glass.
  17. Certainly does. Having the interior look a lighter colour rather than the dowdy brown that the JDM bronze exubes makes a nice difference, modernising it. For the costs of all the seals and stuff, it's not something I'm going to do for a long while yet.
  18. Joint effort Gaz did most of it. After that one got killed, he aquired another one and we had all sorts stuck to that. I drove that into a lamp post down a disused road at about 10 MPH for a giggle.
  19. If this is 'NZR' why have you posted it in the 300ZX Help and advice section?
  20. Front bumper aside, it's very nice actually.

  22. LOL, got some more pics of it. The beginning....a £10 1.0 Nova.....with a whopping £30 modification kitty. You wouldn't believe the amount of fun we had driving around in this thing. What was even more funny, is that the thread that Gaz started up ran on to about 25 pages and the amount of people that had a go at him thinking it was done on a serious note was unreal. The car was actually killed by some old duffer who drove into the back of it in a Merc. The guy decided to settle without going through insurance, Gaz blagged that good Novas like this were going for about £800. The chap promptly handed over £500! After See the string roll cage?
  23. Yeah that's a classic. I saw one yesterday though, probably the worst advert I've seen in a very very long time. It's the advert for 'The One' milk. Anyone seen this? Absolutely terrible. But I guess it works as I noticed it. Not for wanting the product, but because the advert was so utterly appalling!
