Leak Hunting
I would avoid using silicone at all costs. Have you adjusted the stoppers for the door glass? I replaced every single weather strip on my Z, it cost around £1000 which is a little excessive, but makes a huge difference.

Why......??
Ironically their mass protests cause increased pollution. Bringing parts of the public transport system to a halt is nothing short of moronic.

Why......??
Extinction rebellion are the vegan movement of the climate world. Good video! She doesn't really know her subject matter and stumbles. Whilst I'm all for change to reduce pollution (he says after buying a V8 powered car) and waste, Extinction Rebellion just spout manure.

Why......??
Totally bored shitless of crossover after crossover after crossover being launched. It's like the auto industry has gone into 'boredom mode'. Every other day, yet another crossover is released, they're about as exciting as pair of brown pyjamas. I appreciate drivetrains and engines need to and have to change to meet tightening of regulation, but does that mean that has to apply to the actual body of the car? At least MPVs have kinda been phased out.....the vehicle you bought when you knew your life was over.

Southern end-of-season meet: Brooklands Museum - Saturday 12th of October
I'm afraid.....well.... I'm sure you might have guessed this and it's for no other reason that I'm having the new car delivered on this day. I would have come down in the Merc but it's the only time I could do this, so I'm afraid I won't be there. I know, I know, I'm going to hell. With the interest the meet has if someone else can take the helm with it, that would be great. I hope you all have a great day! It's a lovely venue, you also have MB world adjacent.

1991 Twin Turbo manual
Tentitively looking at selling my 300zx. No, this is not a wind up. Reasons for selling is that I feel it's now time to change to something different, I've had the car nigh on 15 years and would like a change in life. The car doesn't really need much in the way of an introduction. I've poured a lot of effort, love and money into this car over the years and will add a full spec however many many new and upgraded parts, the wheels alone (genuine 19" BBS LM) are worth around £3.5k I'm not looking for silly money for it or to capitalise on it, but would like to be realistic. Anyone interested, please send me a message or drop your details below.

Interior Group Buy - an update.
Oh for Pete's sake, the attitude!!...I only requested 1 photo of a retrimmed fattened wheel as it had been a long while since I saw one and my mind had changed, the message stream was all of 3 or 4 messages...! I therefore asked and extremely politely wanting one doing which you seemed lacking in interest of doing. There was nothing in there suggesting that it should 'trump' anything else and that's absolutely absurd to even suggest that and to suggest that twice!!? You gave me the brush off from the first message about it and seemingly had little interest in wanting to help further, as a customer that's not really what I wanted to experience, so after a while of waiting (we literally exchanged a few messages - no epic here), I told you not to bother. There was no 'trumping attitude' what so ever and I can't believe you'd suggest that! Quite ridiculous. Communication lacks which highlights everything that's been going on here. I appreciate, as we all do that people have other situations in life that get in the way, however all of this this has been going on for a considerable amount of time and a number of people for quite a period of time have found it difficult to get any information from you. I don't have an 'axe to grind', I was questioning your willingness to communicate and now my removal from your Facebook friends list....? Really....REALLY?? All that was needed was some communication and update on this thread, your last communique on the forum for your group buy being nearly a year ago. I'm glad you've come on here to respond and appreciate your update, thank you. :)

Interior Group Buy - an update.
He pretty much palmed me off when I suggested I changed my mind and fancied one of this fatter stock steering wheels. I told him not to bother in the end as he couldn't even be bothered to return my last message. Have no idea what's happened to him lately. This group buy has turned into a bit of a sorry state of affairs, it's such a shame.

Long summer road trip now planned
Been back since Tuesday, just sorting through some film I did. Got a screen grab, it's not that great, but gives you an idea of the views through Route Napoleon in southern France.

JaiKai - MK2 - Ziggy Build
With the lack of news and your last comment on Facebook, I'm guessing things didn't go to plan. Gutted for you if that's the case. What happened?

Series 2 seats....
I just got a PAX connector for an S2 car and a long length of cable and spliced it into the driver's side harness. It's only 2 or 3 wires from memory. Just colour for colour.

Long summer road trip now planned
Lunchtime's arrival into Barcelona from Genoa (overnight crossing) Now about 20 miles from Zaragoza.

Long summer road trip now planned
Absolutely fantastic! I did the route a few years ago with AndrewG but sadly it rained and the cloud was so low you could literally see nothing! Sailed into Barcelona this morning and headed north western into the semi-arid almost desert-like area toward Zaragoza.

Made it to Genoa. An immense port, the ferries to the left of me are going to Tangier in Morocco, this one I'm about to board is going to Barcelona, the one on the right I think Sardinia. The Z was certainly put through its paces today. Running very well though.

Get that powder coated. :)

Long summer road trip now planned
Made it down to Provence. Found a new amazing road - A51 out of Grenoble heading south is just stunning and the D road as you come off and head to Sisteron is just spectacular. Virtually nothing on the roads. Smooth, big curves and empty.

Long summer road trip now planned
I have a period-correct Brittany Ferries GB sticker. I have headlight adaptors in the glovebox if I need them - not doing any night driving.

Long summer road trip now planned
Beautiful crossing out of Portsmouth yesterday. Stunning weather and the ferry was deserted. Mid-week crossings out of season are the best time to sail. No kids and hardly any people. Saw friends near LeMans and then drove down to an area near Bourges to stay at a nice little chambre d'hote. Now to Provence and the start of Route Napoleon! That'll be for tomorrow and should prove for some great photo opportunities!

Eprom help
Say what? To destroy the Turbonoz chip or to buy from SZ?
-
Eprom help
Even if the one from Turbonoz arrives, destroy it. I'd order the SpecialtyZ one personally. Shipping time is only going to be a matter of a few days and you'll be getting about the best generic chip there is.

Those round things called wheels.
Standard sized tyres are essentially tyres designed to fit that wheel width. For example, people with extremely aggressive offset and camber (think fat girl in Uggs) will fit a really skinny tyre not designed for that wheel width. This puts undue loading on the tyres walls and a reduced contact patch, not to mention it looks ridiculous. For example, putting a 225 35 18 tyre on a 9.5" wide wheel. For the specs above to give you a nice flat tyre wall (based on an 18" diameter) would be 245 40 18 front and 275 35 18 rear. That aspect ratio would keep your rolling radius within spec (meaning your speedo should still read accurately).

Those round things called wheels.
Wheel specs and fitment are the same on either market cars. You can go slightly wider on smaller diameter wheels for the rear on NAs as they don't have the HICAS knuckle, but essentially, they're the same. You need an idea of how wide you want to go and then look for suitable offsets. Typically, if you're wanting to change your wheels with no body modification, then an 8.5" front with an offset close to +20 and a rear with a width of 9.5" with an offset close to +35 will give you a fairly flush fitment without being overly aggressive. You can fit standard sized tyres then rather than stretched. Diameter can be of your choice, just maintain the aspect ratio. 18s are the most common diameter. Also check your PCD and centre bore for the wheels you're looking at, they'll need to be 5x114.3 and 66.1mm respectively although for the latter, you'll likely have to get corresponding spigot rings, so make sure the centre bore is the same or larger.

What did you do to your zed today?
Y'all don't put diesel in your 300zxs too do you?
