  1. Great to see it in the final stages Lee! You got it running yet or are you waiting for it to go to the tuners?
  2. No idea. If it's moulded into the plastic, then probably not.
  3. Those nuts are captive from memory and are part of the crash bar.
  4. Agreed however this hasn't been on the road in 16 years although there is no MoT history either so could be even longer. The ratio was much higher then, it's just one to be wary of.
  5. From my understanding, the lion's share of engines with the softer valves were found in JDM specific cars as production for that market started a little earlier than US versions. The statistics noted on the US site are likely based on a lower probability.
  6. Less than a week to go! Current forecast suggests nothing but dry, warm, sunny weather along the entire route. I'm glad I didn't go this week as one of the ferries traversing the Med was hit by storms so violent, it toppled lorries over on the vehicle decks. Spain had some rotten weather last week, but it's looking good currently. I'm taking a Go-Pro with me, so should have some interesting footage.
  7. 47k barn find.....with arches like that? I've never seen a door that rotten before either; it was certainly no 'barn find'! That's be left in a field to rot or the mileage is not incorrect. As an early car in that condition, the only thing of any real worth IS the engine however, a large number of 1990 engines had soft valves, unless you can clarify the engine number to see whether it was one that was affected it is a big gamble. I personally would not buy that car so to me, it is worthless, to anyone else, it's hard to value given the unknowns and general state of it? It is more than just a basket case, it's got no MOT history, so you've no idea whether the mileage on that engine is genuine.
  8. On what would you base that on? I guess you mean in terms of the division and bitterness? Yes, you're probably right there! It's just a festering mess now from both sides led by an incompetent party with no viable alternatives.
  9. Yeah, I took a photo of the wrong ones!
  10. Haha! Yes! I've been chasing a tinny rattle from the back of the car for what seems like an eternity. I've gone full-retard on rear sound insulation which made a dramatic improvement, but that tinny rattle was still there over slightly rough terrain and low speeds. The rest of the car is pretty much squeak and rattle-free so it really annoyed me. I was up underneath the car last weekend and noticed that the long tabs on the bumper mounts which were secured by nearly-new OEM fasteners would move up and down ever so slightly, but enough to cause the tinny rattle as they're secured to the aluminium crash bar (yes, the new fasteners are silver plated mild steel as SS would have caused a galvanic reaction). The plastic rivets just can't seem to grip enough, so a nut and bolt job it was and it's gotten rid of that rattle! So, if anyone gets a rattle from the rear of their car which they struggle to locate, have a look under the rear of your car to see whether there's movement between rivet and crash bar.
  11. I'm changing the upper component to the lower components - can anyone guess where it's from and why? #mostboringpostthisyear
  12. Sorry, badly worded, the least 'risk'. Leaving the EU is a risk, whichever side of the table you're sat on. There are too many unknowns, too many variables and to base a decision on an unknown is a risk or rather too much of a risk for me to comfortably make any other decision, I chose to remain as that is a known as it's were we are now. Sure, business is based on risk, but that's usually on something more accurately quantifiable.
  13. I work for a German company and totally agree with that! It actually becomes the source of jokes and laughter when discussing with German colleagues!
  14. Oh I see! Well you could still hardly blame them! My sister lives in Germany and she has started feel embarrassed to be British. Life circumstances led to her living there and she's made a life for herself there. She's not had any bad-feeling from her Germany friends or anyone associated with her although they all look at the UK now as a bit of a laughing stock as do most others. German TV I've seen has had quite a bit of BREXIT coverage as does French TV, especially in recent months. France is also going through a divisive period in politics with Marine Le Penn pushing for France to leave the EU, although in more recent times, she's changed her views.
  15. Oh absolutely, I will vote for the least destructive path possible and am I informed enough? No, I never will be. Whilst that sounds hypocritical, I am not willing to take the gamble on something so extraordinary.
  16. That's sad and disappointing, but I guess you can't blame them entirely. Their own political structure and news is dominated by Brexit and its failings. We don't want to hear about it, but they definitely don't.
  17. ...and here is the point in question. Nobody did, even the MPs themselves! Nobody understood the complexities of the UK's EU membership, that in itself is prevalent not only by the nonsense spun by the leave campaigners who had no credible action plan but by the mess the current administration have gotten themselves into. Trying to unravel the 40+ years of agreements and history in such a short period of time is a devil's game. Offering a referendum to the general public on something like this was like asking a plumber to crochet a bed spread.
  18. Maybe mine is - I've never actually checked! Heavily disguised if it's black as the footwell isn't exactly the brightest place in the world!
  19. That gave me an awesome idea! Getting fuses out is a pig without a tool.... Just ordered this: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202092338861
  20. Corbyn the communist, Farage the fraud or Boris the buffoon? Great line up......for a firing squad. I'd rather vote for an independent than place a cross next to any of their names.
  21. Really!? Farage is an absolute sham. Beats the leave drum giving all sorts of false promises and almost soon as the results of the referendum are known, vanishes almost entirely for 6 months with absolutely no plan of action, this is before we discuss all the undisclosed gifts he received from party donors. He's no better than Boris; it's a horror story, nothing short of. No thanks! and not thanks to Corbyn either!
  22. Nigel Farage and his Brexit party are the stuff of nightmares.
