  1. Oh right that. That's more of a common fault on Zs that the turbos failing! LOL What's probably happened is that the plastic rod retainer has broken so that when you turn the key, the rod just swings and doesn't connect to the latch mechanism. Retainer/clip in most models is made of plastic and just goes brittle over time resulting in the problem you're having. Now, Nissan did make some design changes to it, but it never seems year specific. I've seen early and late models with plastic retainers. Maybe it was a dealer-fit call back, I dunno, anyway, you can get metal replacements if you keep your eye open. You can't buy them new, well you can, but you need to buy the complete lock assembly from memory. Again, pop off the door card and you should see it just below the barrel.
  2. How do you mean 'gone'? Has the lock been punched through and has fallen our or is it just a matter of not locking with the key?
  3. Take the door card off and unplug the connector from the recoil barrel (This is presuming you have a series 1 of course). Nissan designed in an electronic seatbelt slackener. Works fine if the seatbelt webbing is brand new and the recoil mechanism nice and oiled, but the rest of the time it's a PITA and it gets worse as time goes by. It will go back in if you mess around with it and the buckle lock. Put the key in the ignition, turn the ignition on and lock the seatbelt as if you were going to drive, this primes the electronics for the seatbelts. Then give the seatbelt very gentle tugs. Eventually, the recoil mech will release. But once it is, when you have a chance, take the door panel off and disconnect it and clean the belt webbing. It should prevent it from happening again. I am actually in Portsmouth tomorrow night; although I'd rather not be fixed Zs, if you're really stuck, I can pop round for a few minutes in the evening.
  4. Leave them dark Stu. Looks a lot better than having them chromed. Have a go at doing what Pete did to his (Turboz). You could paint the inners jet black to give it a clean look.
  5. ....I am sure someone's going to blabber on about how parts of it look like a Z32! PS...for some reason, also because it's all part of the PSA conglomerate was the Peugeot Quasar....not sure if anyone remembers this concept car from the 80s. Doesn't really look anything like the Citroen. Just reminds me if I guess. Might be because the French rarely bring out a super-car look vehicle in conceptual format.
  6. Happy birthday C*nt Stubble!! :nana2::dance::duffer::bow::D
  7. Flabberghasted to see you back on here! Good to see you back Jeff!
  8. http://www.supercarparts.co.uk 2 numbers on there.
  9. You've answered that question. Why by another which can sometimes be an unknown quantity when you have a seemingly good and rare car. Manual conversion is the way to go, afterall, you'll loose money selling the car as it is, so no point selling really. :)
  10. It would be if you were in the US! All Euro Gen 3 MR2s were 'Roadsters'. They are exactly the same though.
  11. Oh yeah, I've seen that. I didn't even press play, I knew what it was. The dude wants shot!
  12. Can someone link that to me as it doesn't seem to be appearing.
  13. Narr, I'll be in Barcelona. You've got shite weather for the weekend, so don't expect your 1/4mile times to be too blistering. Good luck though.
  14. If they're going to be looking at buying either (albeit the SSC!!), then fuel consumption is a bit of a waste-of-time question. It's like asking how much quicker a Twister ice lolly would melt against a Mr.Whippy if both thrown on sun-beaten tarmac at the same time. It's all futile! ;)
  15. I dunno, a litre of diesel can be had round here for 118.9, so it's not hit us yet.
  16. Unless she has a beard, it can't have been her. It was bone-stock.
  17. The richness may be caused by the oil temp being too cool. If the engine is running too cool, the ECU will just keep it in warm-up make like a choke and will just keep adding more fuel to the mixture.
  18. On a side note, whenever I am at our UK office, their warehouse guys all ride round in Nissan forklifts. Nissan make vast ranges of products for the transport and heavy industrys, but always puts a smile on my face seeing these. Let's face it, they are better looking than a lot of road-going Nissan cars!
  19. Efficient cooling? Sounds like he has a problem. 55 is way too cool. The oil's lubrication properties will be completely different with the viscosity at that temperature. I'd check the gauge, guessing you're using aftermarket gauges since the stock dash only measures oil pressure. Something's not right there. Coolant should be at least up to 80 when up to temperature. When oil comes up to temperature, it's not going to be cooler than the coolant!

You ought to have it in the summer.
  21. Series 3 with the raised rear spoiler. Driving quite close to the town centre today at about 5pm. I was in a black Seat Leon glancing over which I doubt you even noticed.
