  1. Why did you put this quote here? This has absolutely nothing to do with any of it! From what I can see anyway, EVERYONE loves Danny's car which is what appears to be at the centre of all this, myself included! and most think it would be a great car to have on the stand myself included Mr Dasstech (who isn't even a club member) has all got all shitty and fabricated a bunch of nonsense about something Mondo didn't say (and possibly doing a bit of back-door trading in the process) and now everyone's creating a bandwagon shitstorm over absolutely nothing at all. This whole thing is utterly hilarious! :D
  2. No idea. Probably because for the time, it was too complex and there wasn't the demand for it, it wasn't sold for very long in the UK which was initially where the manuals were sold. People initially wouldn't tackle the car. I don't think there's one for the Mitsubishi GTO or the Toyota Supra MK4 either.
  3. It's not wrong at all. It might be a generalisation, but speaking from experience as an exhibitor there and a long term visitor, I'd say I've had a good judge of the people that go there, the cars on exhibition, the exhibitors and the audience. Sure, some might want to see something like that, but on the whole, it's not what the show is all about and I am not entirely sure why people are having a hard time grasping that concept and why everyone is getting so upset about it. There seem to be a whole load of pointless nonsense going on above with people taking everything out of context. What started off as something light hearted and informative has turned into a load of swearing and capital letters. I remember when they filled the Haynes Motor Museum with a load of Max Power feature cars and heavily modified magazine feature type cars - that exhibit didn't last very long. It's different horses for different courses is all I am saying and from experience too. :)
  4. WTF? Where is this from either myself or Mondo?
  5. Not everything that comes out of Japan is cool however. Bosozoku is one of the worst things ever to come out of there since Emperor Hirohito.
  6. Si's interior is wipe-clean too Dean! You won't need many Kleenex!
  7. ^^^ best post of the thread so far!
  8. I think you're missing the point here. Another forum member and I were having a conversation about this yesterday. No where does it say that I dislike otherwise and singled out Danny's car as an example of a highly modified car done very well, in fact, the nicest highly modified of the forum. I think it looks great, it is subtle too. I know the show intimately and highly customised cars is not what it's about; that isn't an opinion either for those of you that think I'm being an ass. Not sure where any off this butt-hurt is coming from either? Upset who and in what way!? It's the same reason as that why certain cars on here, those possibly at the NEC last year that would look totally out of place on the front stage at Modified Nationals as an example or any of those big high-profile modified car events. I actually think Danny's car would look good on the stand as it is subtle and extremely well done despite being a little wild - however, the vast majority of the cars there, I'd say about 99% of them still look like they did when they came out of the factory. Believe it or not, I actually felt slightly out-of-place there which is why I am going back to a factory interior and steering wheel! But I've done my time the NEC and it was an honour. I would love to see the stand get bigger and develop with some really good prime examples.
  9. If you do exercise, that's not a problem. Exercise won't cancel out the effects of smoking however. ;)
  10. Seen it before. Appreciate it's a 'promo vehicle', but it looks poop. Love the ironing board and the piss-coloured indicators....NOT! 'Stance Patrol' - ironically, the wheels are on the wrong way round.
  11. What argument would that be? YES - they were an option. There's an options catalogue floating around somewhere with them in there for all to see, along with cup holders, a roof rack and all sorts of other nonsense.
  12. ...and mine...shortly! I think it's my favourite 'stock' interior. The suede ones are lovely too, but I actually really like the velour seats. They're warm, comfy, grippy and don't creak! :) Just waiting on some US-spec rear quarter trims (early velour US models still had the seatbelts on the doors so have no cutouts for us early cars)! :) - - - Updated - - - NEVER EVER seen those on a 300zx!
  13. I get things wrong sometimes.....but BOY....this is another level of fail! ;)
  14. They'd have 350z on them if they'd been from a 350z!
  15. Seat belts in the correct place? Correct place is the doors! :p What is your actual budget and what model do you ultimately want? Assume a TT manual....
  16. Other than mechanical upgrades and minor OEM+ body changes, they represent the car's original essence. I will be reverting back to stock on some other bits soon as personally, that's how I like them. Nissan got the car pretty much spot-on straight out of the box which is why I've loved the car for over 25 years! :)
  17. Probably more suited to Japfest then. ;) You have to bear in mind that the Classic Car Show is not a modified car event. The types of people interested in or have an appreciation of modified cars (with the exception of race prepared vehicles) and bodykits just won't be there.
  18. I mirror this in its entirety. I do try and keep mine as clean as possible and use it when I can, there is a fine balance for me with owning an older car between enjoying it and preservation. A classic is very much about preservation as it is its enjoyment and I try and stick to a happy medium, it's the reason I could not go full-concourse on it, but I do love seeing concourse cars. My car for example is certainly a used example, but as clean as I can have it as that's part of the fun of owning one too. Mine is purely a summer toy/weekend car, I've had the luxury of being able to garage it for the 10+ years I've owned it too. I thoroughly enjoy buying loads of new bits and pieces from Nissan trying to make it as clean as possible - for me, in any case, that's really enjoyable. :) The thing with shows like the NEC is that it there as showcase event bringing back the memories of what the cars were like when they were new. It's great to see the level of preservation and care gone into many of the cars there. Sure, a lot may not get used very often, that in itself is not sad as we're able to see finely preserved cars and that in itself is awesome! I personally would not want to see heavily weathered cars there, it's not that sort of event. I want to see the best examples in the country of everything and generally that's what there is there. Awesome show.
  19. This! Ferry ticket to France and 3 and a half tanks of fuel!
  20. If I remember correctly and I can't find any photos to back this up, I'm pretty sure that car started life as grey in colour. I do recall the project, but I can not find any information about it anymore.
