  1. When I worked for the MoD, we had an American scientist working in one of the other labs called Hank Wankford.

  3. Percy - however I bet that name will come back into fashion judging by what some people are calling their kids these days.

  5. That's a turd. Been for sale for about 6 months; sill returns are completely crumpled from front to back and going rusty. I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole.

  7. He was lazy, he even admitted that! He actually managed to construct legible posts when it wanted to.

  13. I use Z1 mostly, followed by CZP and also Speciality-Z (they're all US based). UK based, I'll use MJP for smaller parts. Occasionally I'll use ZCentre, but their shipping costs are pretty expensive, but they're great if you want something quickly as Luke does hold stock of a number of parts.
  14. I'd use a WIX filter personally. Nothing wrong with any of the other good brands, however the WIX filter still has the non-return valve, something that the original Nissan filters had.
  15. Potentially up for this depending on A: the weather (that's more of a gamble than anything else considering its location) and B: whether I'm actually in the country or not.
  16. It isn't easy buying stuff through the Japanese Yahooo Auction site. For example, their payment system won't accept PayPal or non Kana format credit cards. As Gary has said, you can use buyee, but generally for smaller items. I have managed to purchase through the Japanese Yahoo Auctions though and managed to import my BBS wheels with the help of a friend in California and another friend who owns Daytona Racing in Tokyo. Cost me as much as a new set (however BBS don't manufacture the 9" and 10" wheels in 114.3 anymore an I didn't want 8.5" and 9.5" in a poor offset). It's very hard work getting bulkier stuff over as I also had to use a shipping agent and a Japanese courier. A right mission as there was no instruction manual on how to get stuff back in that size/weight. I had to get a Bill of Lading generated, find an export agent ad infinitum.
  17. AMS are in Canada. The AMS in the US highly modifies GTRs.
  18. I had a meeting with UK Border Force, I wasn't there too long, but next time Art! :)
  19. For me, I'd ALWAYS change the filter irrespective of manufacturers' claims of longevity. That's more a sales tactic as well as a slight bit if truth. Whilst modern filters have a slightly higher dirty carrying capacity and are now tougher due to their synthetic filter media, the more crap in the filter, the less efficient it's going to be and because there's no direct indication of how much muck is in the filter, it then becomes a complete unknown, even synthetic filters' beta ratio will change over time as oil is constantly forced through it. Couple that with not knowing how the dirt capacity is effecting flow, I'd rather replace. Older cars don't have the tolerances or emissions management of newer cars and the filter will not last as efficiently. So a claim of 'up to 12,000 miles' is a bit of a red-herring in my book.
  20. I was in Folkestone yesterday!
  21. Looks soooooooo much better dude! I find Scarab bumpers a little on the cheap look and they don't match the car at all. You can get away with those to a certain extent on dark coloured cars and they look ok on wide arch cars. Nice work, looks perfect now!
  22. In reality, it doesn't seem to be like that. I was running a 35 profile up front with a 245 and the tyre looked waayyyy taller than the 275 30 rear I was running. I dropped to a 245 30 and it looked pretty much cock-on with the rear.
  23. Yes, it can be read providing you have the right software and chip reader.
