bensjammin Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Hi guys. Been around 10 years since I last owned a 300zx so slightly out of touch. Basically, I'm looking to sell my Skyline which I have had for 4 years now as I miss the comfort and smoothness of the z32. I'm just wondering what is a good price to pay for a good one nowadays. Id be looking for one like my first 300zx, series 2 (spec 2, facelift?... I can't remember the terminology now lol) but it had the seat belts in the correct place instead of the doors, illuminated kick plates and those really comfortable seats (alcantara maybe?... it's been so long). I can probably only push for about 4k for my car so am I looking at a budget option here? Sent from my M52_Red_Note using Tapatalk Quote
Alic Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 (edited) Illuminated kick plates and alcantara seats are both aftermarket, i expect you'll be looking for one with the leather seats or the velour trim. You could probably pick one up for 4K but it won't be mint condition. Edited January 21, 2016 by Alic Quote
bensjammin Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 Damn I knew that was a good one!!! I'm not looking for a minter but a decent one with a few niggles would do me. My friend had one with the leather seats. They're pretty tough aren't they? Sent from my M52_Red_Note using Tapatalk Quote
Joely P Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Illuminated kick plates were a factory optional extra but are quite rare as an original part. Aftermarket versions have been reproduced though. The softer seats that you're referring to are likely to be the velour cloth seats as apposed to the tweed of the series one cars. Still a factory fit part so I guess my reply is a polar opposite from that of omgitsalic?! Quote
bensjammin Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 These were the seats transferred into my second one. It came with those horrible Tweed things! Sent from my M52_Red_Note using Tapatalk Quote
Funkysi Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Seat belts in the correct place? Correct place is the doors! :p What is your actual budget and what model do you ultimately want? Assume a TT manual.... Quote
Sir Charles Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I guess my reply is a polar opposite from that of omgitsalic?! Yours is the correct reply Quote

I could be mistaken about the kick plated by I have never seen a legitimate illuminated 300zx one, they are usually 350z bolt ons or aftermarket ones Quote

Funkysi Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I get things wrong sometimes.....but BOY....this is another level of fail! ;) Quote

Alic Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 They'd have 350z on them if they'd been from a 350z! These ones then from a 370z Quote
Funkysi Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Without looking I believe those are the same seats I have in my car ...and mine...shortly! I think it's my favourite 'stock' interior. The suede ones are lovely too, but I actually really like the velour seats. They're warm, comfy, grippy and don't creak! :) Just waiting on some US-spec rear quarter trims (early velour US models still had the seatbelts on the doors so have no cutouts for us early cars)! :) - - - Updated - - - These ones then from a 370z NEVER EVER seen those on a 300zx!  Quote

I could be mistaken about the kick plated by I have never seen a legitimate illuminated 300zx one, they are usually 350z bolt ons or aftermarket ones Altia supplied illuminated ones as an option from new, along with the illuminated rear panel and rear quarter shades. I've personally never seen a Z32 with either a Z33 or Z34 sill plate fitted.... Quote
Alic Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Alright, I admit that I'm wrong but I'm not going to make a fight about some kick plates. But were there actually illuminated kick plates sold by nissan from the factory? Altia supplied illuminated ones as an option from new Alright cheers Quote
Funkysi Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 What argument would that be? YES - they were an option. There's an options catalogue floating around somewhere with them in there for all to see, along with cup holders, a roof rack and all sorts of other nonsense. Quote
bensjammin Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 Seat belts in the correct place? Correct place is the doors! [emoji14] What is your actual budget and what model do you ultimately want? Assume a TT manual.... The seat belts on my original car were on the b pillars and that was much better than the doors. All I'm looking for is a twin Turbo. Doesn't really matter if it's auto or manual, jap or uk, as long as it looks and runs half decently. Should get about 4k for my skyline so that would be my budget Sent from my M52_Red_Note using Tapatalk Quote
bensjammin Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 My kick plates were stainless and the 300zx logo lit up in that light blue EL colour Sent from my M52_Red_Note using Tapatalk Quote
Alic Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 So i did read this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?166351-rare-factory-optional-extras/page4 and altia illuminated sills were offered as well as other things i've never heard about FYI. The more you know ;) Quote

bensjammin Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 My kick plates were exactly the same as those ones. All I got on my second car were crappy black plastic ones! Sent from my M52_Red_Note using Tapatalk Quote
RichardS Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Welcome back to the fold Ben...... .....And good luck with your search! Richard:thumbup: Quote I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
bensjammin Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 Welcome back to the fold Ben...... .....And good luck with your search! Richard[emoji106] Thank you Richard. Not quite there yet but hopefully soon. There's just so many things I miss from the car. The skyline is just a boring car inside, the 300zx is luxury. Completely miss having the roof out in the summer. And the smoothness in power delivery. My car at the moment is like bit of power, bit of power, bit of power, ALL THE POWER IN BOOST and it's horrible to drive in damp or wet Sent from my M52_Red_Note using Tapatalk Quote
tomomontana Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Seat belts in the correct place? Correct place is the doors! :p Unless you own a UK zed :) Quote
