Mpg isn't all that different between Na's and TT from what I can gather. I get 25 plus to the gallon on motorway journeys and mine is running 340bhp at the wheels (for sale by the way!). The main benefit with NAs is less to pay out if it goes wrong and also the NA drive if you like non-turbo cars. My TT has been completely reliable, but there are a lot of cheaper sheds around now as with all jap performance cars. A zed that is going wrong is very expensive so you're best paying out more to begin with. How much are you looking at spending? theres a few for sale at the moment.
  3. Yep, I'm chuffed. Had to find some more cash but I'm glad I did. The handling on them is superb. Dave
  4. Lots of very good advice in this thread, and good to see a thread thats going into depth on performance modding :) The bits about suspension and brakes are especially good. I know few people will take heed as they like to say how much power they have, but in terms of how much enjoyment you get out of driving the car I reckon these things are one of the most valued upgrades you could do. I guess if people have a couple of grand spare they are more likely to spend it on the engine though. Dave
  5. Wouldn't want to be your wallet with that anti-lag on Boomin! It'll be spitting flames more than my Rx7!
  6. Good kill!
  7. Craig David is on the crack pipe again...............:)
  8. Its not due to ego mate, Boomin is actually a nice chilled bloke, with a passion for zeds, from what I could tell on the phone. The comments come from when this zed was for sale and people were slamming it because they didn't like the spoiler or didn't like the lights or whatever. I bidded on the car on ebay(and didn't get it obviously) , its an incredible Zed. Some serious work has gone into it. IMO its the ultimate modded Zed if you are going down an extreme performance/track route. It also looks a lot better in the flesh than people here think. I'm not a fan of spoilers on zeds myself but I'd consider leaving this one on , i do think a car with this much performance needs one. Dave
  9. Awesome, such a shame you didn't get the zed with it in the background!
  10. I don't give a feck what anyone says about the spoiler and I certainly wouldn't be losing such a quality roll cage. This Zed is pure performance through and through. Anyone who ever talks about how fast a zed can go or how they wasted some other car blah, blah , should wish there zed was like this one. It does the marque proud, and its a shame there wasn't many more like it rather than the 2k sheds that are all over the place at the moment. You need to ride in this car to hear and feel how good it is, not sit on a computer looking at pictures that don't do it justice, and moan about how you don't like the spoiler or the roll cage, you're just missing the point completely. Its had 30 odd grand spent on it (with receipts) FFS and much much more work done on it by the previous owners body shop. I can truthfully say (bearing in mind I havn't been in Macs car) that this is the best zed I have ever been in.
  11. Stop typing and get back to the Aloe-Vera. She wants it finished by yesterday please. Dave :)
  12. Wow! thats fast
  13. The reaction times were on purpose (really!). I didn't want to race experienced people so when the lights went green I let them go and relaxed so I could concentrate on getting my revs up and launching. Next time I'll probably try going on the light, but avoided it this time as I've never done it before and had plenty to think about already!
  14. Nice, engine should be in good nick then if its still restricted. You got plans to mod it then?
  15. Here's a couple of vids of japs drifting on the streets. Its amazing how much skill the enthusiast out there has. Maybe these guys are pros? http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=19E11AC3314E851F http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=630E4AE4780FA2B6
  16. Thanks for the helpful suggestion Si ! The rotor tips will need refreshing on this engine a long time before 60k due to the high state of tune, probably after a year or two depending on the milage. I just look at it like paying for new tyres or whatever. If I want 100k car acceleration then I've got to put some extra cash in somewhere. Its still a lot cheaper than buying a budget porshe or high power skyline so not bad overall. By the way, why have you choosen to get a Supra? Seems an odd choice after a Zed, in that the zed handles better and all. I guess if you want something that is a little easier to tune to big power and a bit faster as standard. I often think one of the big plusses of owning a zed is that if you choose wisely you can have everything a supra has but for half the price and with better looks? Not that I've got anything against them, still an animal of a car.
  17. TBH Jon (and I'm sure SlickPete would agree :) ) It was the car that got the times and not me! I just did as best I could no try and keep some traction. I tried in full boost on an empty 'private test track' a few days before and it was wheel spinning all through the gears but the Pod puts sticky stuff on the track so that helps a lot. Now if I got in the elevens then I'd say I had something to do with it!
  18. Glad you got what you deserved mate, looked like a very nice Zed. Dave
  19. Thankyou , where's my new stickers, and another keyring, and I would also like a calender that has one of those wire bits that you can hang it on the wall with. Thankyou!
  20. Lol, I went through 3 hire cars in 3 weeks in fuertaventura a few years back!! I couldn't help it if all the surf spots required off road driving could I lol! The first broke the fuel lines on the chassis, then the second one got a hole in the sump from a rock doh! Good surf though haha
  21. You'll be fine mate. Just make sure you can jack the car up properly as you may need a bit of leverage to get the caliper bolts undone and don't want a zed falling on your noggin. Other than thats its pretty straight forward as if you are just moving the calipers you wont have to do any bleeding. Saying that it is recommended as just bleeding the brakes and replacing the fluid can make a big difference to brake performance.
  22. I've got that somewhere, I'll try to find it.
  23. Oh come on! I had some sideways control by the end of it!
  24. Was just saying the same about your lady photos on the other thread Steevo haha!
  25. Somebody discipline that girl! :wack:
