  1. They lost the variable valve timing in (95?) due to emissions laws in Japan, so were a little slower in stock form after that. Tbh the age of any stock cars before this year probably means they've lost a bit of power anyway (take a look at peoples dyno readouts in the relevent section) so it doesn't really matter. I'd go for the latest year you can afford/find.
  2. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Fastrack-Motors_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ0QQftidZ2QQpZ2QQtZkm Anyone used these guys before? Thought it might be useful for some people who've blown engines. Personally I think it is better to spend money on a low milage engine than to rebuild a blown one re-using the parts. I remember a couple of tuners I spoke to when my first Zed blew and they refused to rebuild the engine saying it was safer to source a low milage one. I ignored them and rebuilt it myself but they were proved right when it blew again 3mths later! There's another company that are longer established that do them as well but I can't remember their name off hand?
  3. Great that they were so honest with you. Top marks to Infinity Exhausts I reckon. Do they make custom exhausts up then? I would like to find a quieter setup for mine but because its 100mm all the way through no-body does them that big and the only thing to do it get it custom made.
  4. You can be my friend too if you want, as long as you show my lots of porn when I press your 'search' button :-) Want a cuddle?
  5. lol! Cheers, just found it. Google is my friend.
  6. Erm: http://www.zedclub.co.uk/ edit: FFS: http://www.z-club.co.uk/ whats the bloody link?!
  7. I'm really glad you got what you payed out of it. Sorry you didn't get to enjoy it like you should have. I'm gutted the car has gone like this as it did me so well. End of the day its a lump of metal I suppose and at least you've broke even. What does Missus Rodders say about a third one? I don't think mine would be that amused! After all the work and money that got wasted on my first one, it took the red one never going wrong to get her back on side. I wish I still had it tbh as the Rex is a bit extreme to use everyday, and the Beemer isn't a patch on the Zed.
  8. Lol, I think its quite funny. Zed politics aside as I've got no problems at all with any ex members, but Mac will just be sitting at home with his monster Zed giggling to himself before going out for a drive at faster than the speed of sound (at least I hope you are Mac?!). I do find some of the Barryboys 'discoveries' funny, but don't bother going on because its full of t*ssers who don't have a mind of their own.
  9. Nice one mate. I'm in a similar postion, been playing for years but although my fingers can do it, my ears don't really match them (oo-err). I want to finish the exams I'm doing and spend some time really getting into it this year. The missus does percussion in a band that are playing some festivals next month. They're hoping to hit the big time, the guitarist has been up and down the business and nearly hit the big time a few times so knows the score. 3rd time lucky?! I hope so as its about time the missus paid some rent!
  10. Wow, I've never seen footage like that before. Great find.
  11. You can still drive fast when you're an old bar-steward! Just ask Pete :-)
  12. Diddy, we've (I say we, but I've got an ancient one that dies in 10mins) got some IBMs that last 8hrs on battery. I doubt it would be the same if you were playing DVDs or whatever but they're impressive.
  13. Thats terrible news. So sad for his family and friends. I've lost a lot of friends during the times I was in the Marines. Many of the losses were so pointless and such a waste. Time is the only healer really. One thing I really believe is to celebrate the life, rather than mourn the death.
  14. Thanks for no hard feelings, its appreciated. I understand the money side all to well! I miss having a zed now, I would have bought it back if I had the money. I'll make some enquiries on the other forums to see if anyone has a trailor they'll hire me. I had a nice tilt bed car trailor but pikey feckers stole it a few months after you bought the car from me. £1500 down the drain, I only had it for a few months :-( no insurance.
  15. Not sure if its right me offering this seeing as its my old car and Rodders probably curses my name (!) but if you can find a trailor for hire at the above price or thereabouts I will pay the price and pick the shell up for you. I need to take my rx7 down to Portsmouth this weekend as I've blown the gearbox and need to get a second hand one fitted so I need a trailor. I will warn you though that the front shock has gone on my BMW tow slag! so it will be a slow journey!!
  16. Isn't it quite regular? some lads near my dad in Hayle go to it. I'm was thinking about going along with the rex when I'm down second half of June if I've got it and they are there.
  17. Good on her mate.
  18. Don't miss school at all, in fact I hated it! Just make sure you get some kind of vocation/skill that will pay well and then the rest of life is your choice. It only takes a couple of years and its a lot easier to do it when you are young then when you are older and have other responsibilities. Even if it isn't your 'dream job' now its worth getting something reliable under your belt so you've got the choice later on.
  19. They make a much better track car than the Zed with a few choice mods. Probably more of a sports car than the Zed when you think about it. The Zed is a fast mile munching GT, definately not a track car.
  20. I smell bull?! 'This car is perfect for drifting.....'
  21. There's a slight chance I may be passing in the Rex, would it be ok if I came along and payed on the day if I can make it?
  22. Why don't you get her to call you the guys name? then you can call her someone you fancy (next door neighbor for instance) and everyone is happy with their fantasies :-)
  23. There are ten times as many little things to go wrong on a Zed than your average straight 6 supra or skyline or whatever, and they are usually an absolute mission to fix. Probably the sole reason why Zeds are now so cheap and don't have as good a reputation amongst enthusiasts as other performance cars, which are usually not as good cars either
  24. There's a lot more to a TT than just the engine mate. Have you got the intercoolers, piping, etc as well? I'm not sure exactly what you would need but there's plenty of differences and its more than just dropping a different engine in. You'd be much better off buying a decent condition TT with a knackered engine and droping the new one into that.
  25. Don't mean to be throwing spanners in the works mate, but as a general rule I wouldn't rely on a £2500 Zed as a daily drive. Zeds are very complicated and notorously awkward to work on due to the V6 in the tight engine bay. Compared to most performance cars they are not reliable as there are a lot of wiring, pipes, two turbos, auto gearbox, etc that can have problems. For one to be considered reliable it should have all of these replaced, new turbos, and be manual or a rebuilt auto, you would pay 4k or prob more for this. Have you looked at the running costs? they are cheap to buy but expensive to run properly. Look at £600 - £800 for a set of decent tyres, petrol roughly 20mpg on average give or take, auto gearbox rebuild over 1k, turbo rebuild over 1k,etc. Just think people should know what they are getting into. You'll be overdrawn if you own one! You should have access to £1-2k for repairs. They are awesome cars though :nana2:
